Two years ago I had arthroscopic surgery on my right shoulder to fix "frozen shoulder- adhesive capsulitis". It was very successfull, but still, surgery...now I am getting the same thing in my left shoulder. I've heard a chiropractor can help with this, anyone done this or??? Also, from what I've read it might even clear itself up after a year or so???

DH said to find someone who does deep ultrasound therapy and light/gradual range of motion.

Good luck!

Is that a specific type of chiropractor? Or its a different type of therapist?

Different Chiropractors practice different techniques, but would just be Chiropractors. These are the ones DH would use if you were his patient.

Maybe call around and ask what they could do to treat your shoulder.

Just when you thought this thread was dead.

I am currently seeing a chiropractor for the same reason. I wish I would have gone sooner. I had adhesive capsulitis in my left shoulder several years ago, but a cortisone shot and physical therapy took care of it. When my other shoulder started bothering me about this time last year, I asked my doctor to write me an order for physical therapy. The therapist I saw concentrated on strengthening my shoulder, but not stretching it since I still had "good range of motion." The shoulder never really got better, but it didn't get any worse until recently.

DH hurt his shoulder working and on the recommendation of a co-worker went to see a chiropractor. His shoulder is now almost pain free, so I decided to give her a try. I'm so glad I did! I must say it hurts like heck when she is working on it, but it falls into that "hurts so good" category. She is doing the gentle stretching that I needed a year ago, and I feel like at last I'm on the road to recovery. :thumbsup2

Ive seen a chiro twice now, she does make it feel better, but sleeping especially is very difficult. What Im most impressed about is that she is honestly saying that she will be able to tell after about 4 meetings whether or not she will really be able to help in the long run. So I will know next week if Ill continue with her or not. There is definite improvement after I see her, but it has worsened so much I have a bad feeling that only surgery will ultimately help.

Thanks for keeping this thread alive!

I was also lucky to find a chiro like that. After seeing him for a month he told me that if his treatments didn't help within another 30 days, that I would probably not see any further help with chiro care.
