My son was watching someone's video on You Tube about recent Disney news (the host looks like he's 12), anyway the young man suggested the opening of Frozen Norway was being pushed from Spring to Summer...any thoughts?

That's Brayden from Mickey Views! He's a current favorite in our house. I'm pretty sure my 10 year old has a little crush going on! lol I'm impressed with how well done his videos are, and he seems to have really good information and excellent insights. The video he just posted on Friday mentions that the opening for Frozen Ever After has been pushed back to "summer" but no specific date. This is also the only source I have come across for this information. Nothing to do but wait and see!

The opening was pushed from spring to summer, although both seasons are quite ambiguous at Disney. I think the source was something to do with DVC, but I'm sure someone will jump in with more specific info.

Kind of a relief to me that we'll miss it. DD5 would love it, but now I don't have to plan around it or wonder how it's going to affect crowds at Epcot.

Does anyone remember if/how long they delayed the opening of 7 Dwarfs Mine Train from the original announcement? That was the most recent attraction to open that we could maybe compare with Fro-way.

I'd check WDW's website and just go with what they have posted there. Everything else is just a rumor.

Wow, we're going to miss both Soarin and Frozen. Bummer because I don't know when we'll be able to bring my DGDs 3 and 5 again. Not this year for sure (Virginia). Maybe by the time we take them again they'll be over Frozen. Wouldn't that be wonderful?

I have also heard it is being pushed back. Mid to late summer I think, but don't remember where that info came from. As a Norwegian, I am interested in the work there. I hope they get it right when construction is done. Just how much Norway it will be remains to be seen. We are hoping for the best, as we are strongly biased. :) It just doesn't feel right since they took away Maelstrom. I'm hoping the new experience there will incorporate the real country there, instead of recreating our culture. (By the way: My girls think it's cool Anna and Elsa are Norwegian and all, but think it's still funny that they cannot talk Norwegian to either of them. Yet, they all agree: Chocolate here is definitely a big deal...)

The original ride had a lot of info about Norway - as all the countries do, by way of educating visitors about the histories and points of interest about that particular country. I would hope they would continue to do the same, just incorporate Anna and Elsa into the story line. The kids are cute when visiting their own country sometimes. Last time we were there we were waiting to go into Oh Canada and a couple of small children who obviously didn't want to wait were using the logic that they WERE from Canada, so they knew what it was all about, lol. It didn't work on the parents, but they were entertaining trying.

So, the current rumor is that Soarin' Around the World will open in June, and Frozen will open around the same time. But, these are just rumors!

I would not get your hopes up. When I do, I always get disappointed. I would not be surprised if both Soarin and Frozen open late summer. Note, I have no actual knowledge of these openings, just past experience with other attractions like the Fantasyland expansion.

Yes! Exactly this! While I'm sure the ride will be fun/beautiful/etc, it just makes planning easier that this "big new thing" will be a non-issue this particular trip & then by the next time we (eventually) go (probably in 4-5 years) something ELSE new will have come along & the craziness for this will have died down.

Lol we're happy about it as well. I had reserved Akershus 2 different days at 8:00 am (for an early opening) and 9:30 (for an 11:00 opening) and now I am cancelling all 4. We can get there when we want and enjoy F&G and the outdoor kitchens. Plus I've been able to cut back from 1 1/2 - 2 days to just one since Soarin will be down also.

I did the same thing, on three different days. Keeping one of those.
