FROZEN in Carbonite! Updating for Halloween at Sea World and Disney

Dessert Party!

We have seen the fireworks several times since this version of fireworks has started. We have seen them back in the Animation Courtyard, Near 50's PTC at Echo Lake, and right up front at the rope by the speakers. But this night, it was going to be from the dessert party.

This was President's Day Weekend. We arrived around 7:30 and all the tables were taken. There were many people standing around the back of the the event area, so we went towards the front. We put our drinks on the top of a garbage can and held our plates.

The cheese and olive sabers were a flash back to the Rebel Lounge! The sour apple lemonade was the only drink I took and I loved it!

My husband's favorite was the raspberries on a saber.

DS's favorite was the Mickey Bar. We don't usually let him eat chocolate because of the caffeine.

Before the fireworks started, we took the advice of @yulilin3 in her Star Wars thread and went over to the left side of the party area and stood along the rope.

As we exited, a tab was taken off our wristband and we were given a Chewie mug!

I don't know when our next time out to a park will be. My son is in tech week for his play which opens on Friday and runs 3 weeks.

We were very happy yesterday to read of the new Star Wars experience coming to DHS. We look forward to the new stage show and Phasma's march starting on April 4!!

I need help with April planning. First ever RunDisney event for dh. He's walking the 5K. He's got his walking speed to 42 to 43 minutes. What do you suggest for him to keep his cell phone and cards in? Any other tips or tidbits he needs to know?

Love this thread! Thank you again for all of your insight! We are heading back in August - hopefully after we sell our current home and buy a new one! - Anyway, do you have any predictions about a new dining that "may" be offered with SW characters by then? And also, do the LB characters have FP for their meets? I looked like there were readers set up in Dec. but not being used... curious if that has changed! Thanks!

Yay! Congratulations on heading back in August and selling/buying a house is a huge life change!

Character meal seems a rumor at this point. Though I'd love to see the Rebel Lounge back in action. After all, there's been Sabine and Ezra auditions.

I thought the new stage show might have gone into the new Sunset theatre, but it ended up at center stage, right?

As for the new stage show I heard hints that it may be interactive.

At this point, there are no FP for the characters at LB. Best option is 11am to 4pm the Chase Visa Kylo m&g and standby only for Chewie.

Thanks! We have had lots of people checking out our place... so now just for someone to make an offer!

I hope they bring back the Rebel Lounge - we weren't able to check it out last year but would love to! Excited to meet Kylo just because we met Vader last time (and a few other times) - so it will be fun to meet someone new! And always fun to see Chewie!

182 days to go! Can't wait!

Not sure if they were doing this when you met Vader or not? Once you enter, you put your bags down to the side and the cm will take your camera.

I don't like the cm taking the camera because they don't all get the best angles or take a bunch of pictures, just 1 or 2.

We had just ds meet Kylo Ren and we held onto our devices.

I'm sure they are doing it to streamline the m&g and make it go quicker. The lines do move pretty quickly which is great when you're waiting.

This is a great thread! Thank you!

We're taking our 4 and 6 year olds (6 year old is newly obsessed with SW) the first week of May...i'm building my itinerary. Definitely hoping for Jedi Training. We have 8am rezzies at Hollywood and Vine...not sure if that will help us any!

Anyway...thanks for the info!

There's always a fanny packo_O DH has an SPI belt (Small Personal Item). You can get it online at spibelt.com. It's made by some women in Austin. It's this weird, thin, stretchy, bandolier thing. He has an iPhone4S, and it fits. I don't know if the bigger phones would. If you are interested, we could our Samsung S6 (the smaller one not the Note or Plus) to see how it fits. The S6 is bigger than an 4S, but isn't the biggest thing out there. I have thought for people who want to carry very little into the parks that it could work really well too.

Welcome! Thank you!

The first week of May has always been a great week for Disney! Crowds lower and temperatures are good.

Yesterday there was a thread someone posted about getting in the park to sign up for JTA at 7:30am when the park didn't open til 9am. You might want to see if things are running that way the day of your breakfast.

Oh I will search for that! Thank you! Once the SW love hits, it hits hard. My 6 year old has quickly become obsessesed :lovestruc.

Hello! I'm following along now! Loving the Star Wars stuff.

Welcome!

Star Wars is my family's "thing". Except our oldest son is more of a Star Trek fan.

Any advice you have about the 5k is greatly appreciated!

Well I did go over the 5K already in my TR if you want my exact experience of the January 5K. Usually all of the 5Ks use the same course that goes through Epcot but I haven't seen the courses released yet for the Star Wars Marathon weekend. I think a 5K in DHS would be the best fit. As for the expo packet pick up is fairly easy. I am guessing merchandise for this weekend will be very popular since it is the inaugural event. So if you want merchandise I suggest getting there early. The race itself should be a lot of fun and isn't timed so pace your self take pictures and meet some characters. If you have any more questions let me know.

I'll check out your TR.

I think it goes through Epcot.

He's going to be walking, not running. His knees can't handle the shock of running. His walking time is down to 42 to 43 minutes. Would he still have time to stop?

I saw pictures from the lines for merchandise and picking up the bib. I assume they are two different lines?

He's going to ESPN himself to do that. We'll hang at the pool or a park while he does.

How early should he plan on picking up his bib? The line looked huge.

Yes he will have time for characters if he does that pace.

They are two different lines.

If he wants merchandise be there as early as possible. If not he can go whenever.

We actually got a full asking offer and are now under contract! We can't believe our good luck! Hopefully all will go through without any issues. Fingers crossed!

When we saw Vader in Dec. they did take our phnoe (camera) when we got to him - they didn't do it with Chewie - DD5 was so scared of Vader and they were really strict that we all had to go and meet him at the same time - we were going to just skirt her around and take turns with him - but I guess that would've held things up - so I just held her in my arms and she made it through! I don't think that we got a smile out of her though!

party: Congratulations!

Kylo Ren is way more intimidating than Vader, imho.

I hope there's a smile next time.

I ordered purple magic bands for the three of us! So happy to have a new color to choose from!

20160306_092642.jpeg

Inspired by the packing only a carry-on thread, I'm going to attempt to do that for the 3 of us.

I always over pack bringing everything but the kitchen sink for just in case.

I need to figure out what ds and I are wearing for Dapper Days.

I made our FP+ at 60 days out. I was only able to get my 1st choice of FP+ and dining on check out day.

I was hoping to get FoF FP+ for day 1. That didn't happen. I booked VotLM for that time slot and keep looking if I can change it to FoF. I also got a very late A&E that was the only time left between 10 and 11. I know I won't keep it because of the time and I keep trying for an earlier time slot.

It was definitely easier to see A&E at MNSSHP than trying to make a FP+ at 60 days out.

I got great FP+, including a great time slot for A&E on Dapper Days.

I just realized that ds' birthday is right after our mini-trip, so we'll be celebrating his bday on our trip! He'll love that!
