My understanding was that you can't get any FP+ for the MVMCP 7 pm through end of night. Does this mean we can grab a FP at a kiosk for the fireworks during the party itself? I was able to book FP+ for the 4pm to 7 pm time.

Nope.
No FPs are used after 7PM and none will be issued to come due during that time.

6:15pm each night(sign language Mon, Thu) and 7:30pm on non-Christmas party nights.

New Year's Eve (December 30 & 31)
Guests can get a head start on welcoming 2016 at Magic Kingdom as New Year’s Eve fireworks light up the sky on two nights instead of one. Magic Kingdom will present a jaw-dropping presentation of “Fantasy in the Sky” fireworks on both Wednesday, Dec. 30, and Thursday, Dec. 31 at 11:50 p.m.

Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky
A 14-minute fireworks spectacular rockets into the air above Cinderella Castle at Magic Kingdom both nights(July 3 & 4) at 9 p.m. with “Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky.”

Nights of Joy: September 9 & 10
Top contemporary Christian music performers headline this annual celebration. The long-running series has played to a combined audience in excess of a million. In 2016 the concerts will be hosted in great indoor and outdoor venues at ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, and Night of Joy guests will get admission to Magic Kingdom Park for fellowship and fun, with access to favorite attractions.

Thanks for the tip! I'm hoping to get the fireworks fast pass. If I do, should we plan to get there two hours early, or because we have the fast pass, we can wait closer to 7:00ish?

You only really need to be there 45-60 minutes before if you have FP
