Frozen halted part way through today

We were watching Frozen at the Hyperion Theatre today ( the 3.30pm performance) and part way through ( the first scene with Kristoff and Sven) the performance was halted and didn't recommence. I am wondering what the reason was, is it a common occurrence to have technical difficulties?

I've seen it 3 times, each time something technical went wrong. Not good odds for a stage show. They always picked up and continued, though. Oddly enough, two of those times it was that scene, or the setup for what happens immediately after, that caused an issue.

It the show paused for us at the end of March after the scene where Anna, Kristoff and Sven fall. Something was wrong with the sleigh or Sven. Luckily they started after 10 minutes. I'm sorry that it didn't resume for you.

When we saw it the show stopped at the part where Kristof was about to introduce Elsa to the trolls. It stopped for about 10minutes (with an announcement that the show was having technical difficulties) before continuing on. The performers clearly had a rehearsed response for when these things happen and they handled it smoothly and then walked off the stage in character. Its clearly something that happens a lot, which can't be good.

we saw it in Feb and no stopping or tech issues.. sounds like its random. but happens frequently

Surprising that they canceled it. They do have technical difficulties often, but I've never seen them cancel mid performance. I've had them cancel performances altogether, and had them pause for 10 minutes plenty of times though. I can't figure out why nearly a year later they can't seem to get it together with the tech stuff, though (and I am a theatre tech person).

It's too bad there are problems so often.
At least you get to have snacks and a drink during the program which is nice during the pause.

It happens...I even had Aladdin stop and cancel mid show once due to something getting jammed up.

I understand it happens, I have just never personally had it happen mid-performance. With Frozen it happens way too frequently for a show that's been open almost a year though.

This happened to my daughter yesterday too... I hope they can get the glitches figured out.

I had this happen last august. Show stopped 10 minutes in and they had everyone leave the theater. I think the remaining shows for the day were also cancelled.

Still having problems; the 3:30 show for Frozen was paused, then canceled 10 minutes into the performance. The groans were loudly audible!

That's so disappointing. Am sorry. :-(
We saw it last Thursday and no issues then. Sounds like bad luck. Surprising they didn't continue, or just skip whatever part of the scene they had (the sleigh part with the wolves or before that?)

10 minutes is way before the wolves part. 10 minutes would put them at about For the First Time in Forever.

I've never seen or shall I see frozen. Would I like the play? I liked Aladdin.
I think you'd like the play, even without the history of knowing the movie. There's action, there's romance, there's comedy. Even if you don't like the story, just marvel at the computer generated effects, the choreography, etc.

"Still"? That thread was from April. I doubt that this has been ongoing since then.

All attractions are subject to computer glitches. Computers are like that.

While most performances complete without issues, Frozen continues to have more than its share of technical glitches :headache:

I've seen Frozen every couple months since the premier, and the show is constantly changing. The objective is to reduce the performance time to under an hour, while maintaining the continuity of the story. Removal of the early ice harvest scene is the most obvious change, but other smaller changes keep being made.

Yep. Their issues are ongoing.

We saw it at noon today and they paused when the sleigh is supposed to rise (wolves scene) and restarted with the next scene a few minutes later.

I'm sorry to hear the next show was cancelled.
