Hi! Going the end of the month and are trying to find ways to stay cool!:rotfl: The Frosty Towels look good, but wonder how well they work?:confused3 Any input!

We used Frogg Togs Chilly Pads on our last trip. If they are anything like those, they worked great. The only cons I had were, having to share (other peoples' sweat-eww) and they never dried out which made me think there were a lot of germs and mold in there. However, they never smelled bad, during our 10d June trip, nor did they discolor. A quick run through the water fountain made them cool and refreshing.

If it's anything like the Chilly Pad, I recommend it without reservation. I use mine all the time not just in the parks but whenever I am outside for long stretches. What I like about it is it's easy to "recharge" (just get it wet again) and it doesn't have any dyes to bleed on your clothes like some of the bandanas. Also it's lightweight. I just drape mine over my neck and forget about it. Mind you, it's not the height of fashion, but it does make being outside more tolerable.

You actually don't want these things to dry out. Wash them out after a use put back in the canister slightly moist.

Aack! Mine have been dry since last summer. I was holding on to them to use them on our next WDW trip. Do you think I ruined them? How do you wash yours? I ran mine through the washer before letting them dry out completely.

I have never heard of such a thing! Where can you buy frosty towels/Chilly pads?

Amazon sells the Chilly Pads/towels. I got mine at Sports Authority. They also have bandanas but the packaging looks similar so make sure you're getting a pad/towel and not a bandana.

What is the difference between the pad and the bandana as far as use goes- Do you just use the towel to kinda "wipe up"? and the bandana around your neck?

The bandana is much smaller and although I didn't open it, I'm wondering if it had different dimensions c/w the Chilly Pad.

Sorry, I just realized I didn't answer the bandana question. The bandana is meant to be worn on your head, ala Hulk Hogan. The Chilly Pad has one side that wipes off sweat and the other side provides cool refreshment. Of you want to wear it around your neck you could but it's kind of big and can feel bulky in the FL heat. We just used it to wipe off our faces, neck and arms. Sometimes the kids would just drape it over their face and lean back....like at Beauty and the Beast and such shows.

I think you will be fine :goodvibes

Nothing bad happens when it dries out completely, except it gets all hard and could crack. I'm just a sucker for following directions and it said to store it slightly moist so it rolls up and can fit back in the tube. Just dunk it in warm water first to get it wet and then put it in the cold water. I put mine in the washer too.

BTW, I just researched frosty towels and it appears you have to cool them in a fridge/freezer and they only last 4-8 hours at a time. The Chilly Pads can be rinsed with water from the water fountains and they instantly get cool again. Plus, the Chilly Pad/towel stays cool for much longer than 8 hours. During our 10 days in WDW, they stayed cool the entire time. We would use it, put it away in a Ziploc, do nothing to it, then 2 hours later, took it out and it was as cool as the beginning of the day. If we used it a lot, at one time (as in everyone in the party passed it around, again-gross, we just wet it in a water fountain and it was good as new).

Thanks for the info! Where is the best place to buy Chilly Pads (US)?:confused3

Most sporting goods stores sell them. I know Dick's Sporting Goods, Golf Sports, Cabelas, and Bass Pro Shop do. You can also order them online at Amazon or get them on ebay.

I bought one at Dick's Sporting Goods, but didn't like it. I never used it. It was too bulky. It would have worked better if it was longer and not quite as wide. I couldn't figure out how to carry it in the parks. It was too big to put into the small bag I carry, but didn't fit right to wear around your neck.:confused3

I live in a small town...does Walmart, Kmart, or Dick's have anything like this? I tried searching on Dicks site but it didnt pull up, same with Walmart...

Thanks for the input! :cool1: I found the frogg toggs chilly pad towel at Dick's Sporting goods for $14.99!:woohoo:

Glad I came across this thread! I will check out Chilly pads next time I'm at the store! And too think I was just going to freeze a wash cloth hahahaha

I have tried Frosty Towels a number times, and they work great. They do not require refridgeration, and are ready to go for 4-6hrs after being waived in the air for a couple of seconds. I buy mine at coolingtowels.com they are an inexpensive way to stay cool in the heat.
Check them out at coolingtowels.com

I belong to an organization that spends a lot of time standing motionless in the southern sun. It's hot and grueling. I carry Frosty Towels to give to anyone who needs relief from the heat. The Frosty Towels stay cool for hours. I see them being reused for days after being handed out. Just wet them, and they're ready to go again. Highly recommended!

Frosty Towels are outstanding. They stay cool for hours. They are perfect for Disney. They will keep you cool when you are wearing them on your neck. If they get warm, just swish it in the air. They are already moistened in the package. They are all natural and safe. Disney even uses them, I think they hand them out at Animal Kingdom on the Safari Ride by Disney Cast Members. They even helped keep the mosquitoes away!!!!! Our family loves them and highly recommends them to everyone we know. You will love them.:yay::cool1:

Use these at Nascar races. Work really well. Can get them at some wallgreens. Hint: store in plastic bag when not in use.
