When I was a young teenager, I had some moderate frostbite on my left foot (black toes, discolored feet) during a fishing trip. I am now almost 37. My left foot is now always cracked and dry, while my right foot is the picture of health.

Do you think the cause is possibly the frost bite? Or should I be looking for another cause?

the frost bite may be the cause of the dry foot, try putting vasiline on your foot and put socks on and sleep all night like that, the vasiline will soak into your skin over night and help put moisture back in your skin.

It could very well be the cause of the difference in skin texture etc.

There is a very good cream that I have found called "Rexeme". I found it at a local pharmacy. It is quite expensive, but let me tell you, put the stuff on after a shower, when your feet are softened because of being in the water, and put on a pair of socks, and it is amazing stuff.
