Frontierland Game

My family went to WDW last year and mentioned that they played some sort of game in Frontierland where they went up to a booth to get instructions and then followed some clues/map to get to treasure or something like that...they said that the CM there told them this was available at DLR as well.

I swear I remember reading about this online at one point but I can't find the article now. Does anyone know what I am talking about? Was this only at WDW, and only for a limited time? I was at DLR recently and did not see anything like this. Maybe the CM was wrong?

This was last summer. It completely took over Frontierland, if it were happening this summer you would not have missed it. Honestly, it was kind of a mess. You got a task, which was often hard to complete and were rewarded with wooden nickels. You needed a certain amount of wooden nickels to buy land, which was a square on a map that reset daily. There were 2 competing teams with different maps. What happened was a lot of APs hung out all day dressed up and would give out near impossible tasks to people and then the CMs wouldn't have any nickels for those tasks. I also saw some hassling of guest on the other team that spread into other lands. The Adventureland game was better. You bought a quest packet, you only interacted with CMs or could do some tasks alone. You were rewarded with a juju charm. The Adventureland one was only in the month of August. I believe the Frontierland one started in July and ran into September. It sounds like they're doing a Mickey quest event that is similar to the Adventureland experience.
