Looking for airfare for this coming May and never tried Frontier. Bad idea? They offer nonstop flights from BDL. The times and prices are great. Jetblue and SW were always our go to. SW is insanely priced for awful options. Jetblue also has cut many nonstop and the choices are slim. Anyone who lives in New England and used Frontier out of BDL have any real life experience?

Never used them but make sure you are pricing things out, including seat selection, if you are interested in that, and any baggage fees, checked or carry-on. Any time I have priced them out, the initial price looks great but not so much after I include seats and baggage

With any airline, I would make sure to determine the TOTAL cost of the flight, since some airlines make their base ticket price SEEM cheap, but when you add in all of the extras fees/costs, not so much.

Have flown on Frontier several times in other parts of the country and never had any issues. I prefer non-stop flights at a reasonable time of day. Prices also depend on overall demand, if there are any holidays are around the time you are flying and how much competition your particularly route might have.

yes priced it out including seat assignments and its about half the cost of jetblue for 3 adults roundtrip nonstop flights

no major holidays. leaving sun may 4, return fri may 9. I priced out flight with seat assignments, we only bring the personal item each. 3 adults nonstop flights. Just dont know if its worth trying them.

My only concern with them is what happens if things go wrong? With any of the big four I still have a decent chance of making it to my destination the same day as I can be re-routed and still get there. With the LCCs and ULCCs, that are rarely other options. My personal choice is to not use them for anything I'd be really upset to miss. My wife flew one of them to join me for a work conference last year and it was perfect for that. If something happened and the flight didn't go, we weren't out anything and she wasn't missing anything important.

I think Frontier is a great option with one caveat. If something happens and your flight is delayed or cancelled, they won't put you on another airline. You'll be put on the next Frontier flight, which can be days away, or offered a refund. I've had a flight cancelled on me and the next option was 2 days away. Luckily, I found a cheap flight on another airline later that day, so I took the refund and switched.

You also need to include the cost of bags and seat selection if you want them, but even then, Frontier is usually cheaper than the major airlines.

We have flown Frontier numerous times. When we were only bringing personal items and carry-on bags, we never had any issues. But if you have to check a bag, it's a debacle checking in for your flight - complete chaos and inefficiency. Now that our family has grown and we have to check bags each flight, we're done with Frontier. If I were flying without checked luggage, though, I would certainly fly with them.

I haven't used Frontier out of BDL to MCO, but I have used them from CVG to MCO.

I agree with @jimmymc, they are a great option just know if they cancel what that could mean.

And sounds like you're not checking bags which is good. That was the one thing I found frustrating with Frontier. It took forever to get our checked bags.

WOW. I wouldn’t even be able to fit everything in a personal item for 3 days at Disney.

we may just stick with Jetblue even though they have cut the amount of nonstop flights, its one early and one late going and coming. they used to have more nonstop flights. so the times are not ideal.

Every time I have flown on Frontier I has always checked my bags and never had any issue. No idea what sort of problem someone else is talking about. Every airline now has self-service kiosks where you check-in for your flight, print your luggage tag and then take it to the desk to give the airline employee.

I think incoming luggage is processed by the airport and not the airline.

Not easy. 2 change of underwear, a couple of shorts and shirts, bathing suit and a pair of sandals or flip flops. Toothbrush, small paste razer, deodorant and sunscreen.

Doable with the right personal bag.

I don't think Frontier has it's own kiosks. Larger airports have the multi airline kiosks. No kiosks at smaller airports

Typically, it is utilized by ramp agents working for the airlines. Smaller regional airports will have contracted workers. I know CVG is run by the airline you are flying.
