Any one have any guesses as to when Frontier will open there reservations for March and April 2015?

Not as soon as you think. Frontier is operating this way (not releasing schedules regularly) because they have no idea what their schedule will look like yet... They are experiencing a shortage of aircraft - some are coming out of service to get repainted in the new livery, all are having the DirecTV removed and they are also getting a few more rows of seating added. New planes are on the way - there's an order for the new Neo's - but won't come online till later. Plus with all the new markets they're unsure where to focus. It's an exciting time for Frontier but a situation that means it's going to be awhile before you can book deeper into March.

DirectTV is being removed??? If so, there goes the last benefit to flying Frontier for us.

Yep. The Directv equipment is very heavy - they can save on fuel costs without it. Plus the trend is for passengers to bring their own video content onto flights these days. It's definitely being removed as the planes are being repainted and getting their additional seating.

Thanks for the insight. I know there is a lot of turmoil, they are ending flights to 3 cities from my area that were not profitable to free up planes. Our MCO and TPA and maybe DEN flights are left.

The big benefit to us was not having to bring all the video content for the kids; it was so easy to bring only headphones. Oh well. Between the decreased service and nickle-and-diming on Frontier and decimating Midwest Express via the takeover, it's a sad outcome.

If you're talking about ILG (guessing by the DE in your username) then all routes except for MCO and TPA are being discontinued as of 10/26 - DEN too. The News Journal is reporting that Chicago will return next summer which is good news. Assuming MCO and TPA bookings stay strong I think ILG keeps it's Florida service going forward at minimum.

I know what you mean - I have a four year old that we have to schlep an iPad for when there is no inseat video. The DirecTV they were using on Frontier was antiquated though and the fuel savings gained by ripping it out is far greater than the revenue they are making from the service. You'll still see it on some planes this fall/winter. Won't be until spring till it's gone fleetwide.
