Front of the Line Question

Hello, I have never been to Universal, but I think that I heard once that if you stay at one of the on-site hotels, you get front of the line privileges. Is this true, and if so, how does it work? Also, which hotels does this refer to? Thanks so much for any information!

Front of line access is brillent! if your staying at Royal Pacific/Hard rosk or Porti(cant remember the name of 3rd one!) then all you have to do is show your door key to the attendent. ( some rides have seperate cues for front of line pass). It made visiting the park so easy and you can go straight back on the ride(which my 10 year old did with spiderman!) you also get priority seating in restuarnt anhd can bill food/purchase against your card and have them delivered to your room.
We stayed at Royal Paciific and loved the boat from the hotel to the park( as well as the pool, lobby, food etc etc!) you will have a great time. Best wishes Ruth

It is indeed true. Universal's onsite properties are Portofino Bay Hotel, Hard Rock Hotel and the Royal Pacific Resort. I've never been to a Disney deluxe but I'm told that's what they compare to but more affordable.

Your room key (for everyone staying in the room) serves as your express pass and is valid on everything. Generally there are no restrictions and you can ride as many times as you want. After being so spoiled, you will never want to wait in a long line again!

I've stayed at both Portofino at UO and Grand Floridian at WDW. I would say that they are equal in my eyes in terms of rooms, service, etc. But I prefer Portofino for its styling, FOTL, its pool, and its pricing. If you get a Preferred Annual Pass to UO, you can get great discounts at all three UO resorts.
