A co worker who is planning a trip in April. Was asked by his travel agent if he wanted to get these. He asked me being a frequent visitor to DLR what I thought of them. I said I had heard rumors but nothing for sure. Do they exist or is his TA mistaken:confused3

The only front of the line passes I have heard of is at Universal!!! Disneyland has fastpasses, is that maybe what he meant!!

Is he combining a trip with a day at Universal? He could have been confused and that might be what he meant!

The TA is very mistaken. FP's are available to anyone with valid admission and is the closest thing DLR (or any Disney park) has to FOTL. Universal does have FOTL though.

I know two different people who did this at WDW - they paid a LOT of money upfront (several hundred dollars, way more than Universal), had a personal tour guide through all the parks and basically had fast passes for every ride that had fast pass. They never waited in line for anything. I'd be really interested to see if this exists at DL as well because we're going back in July and it might be worth it. Anyone know of this?

I have never heard of anything like this being mentioned for disneyland. I have been told it's FastPass for disneyland, and I know it's Front of the line passes at Universal. They charge a pretty good amount at Universal for those. I honestly did not find enough rides to justify the expense of the pass. I got bored fairly quickly at Universal Hollywood. I was expecting much more from them heh live and learn.

I have read that you can pay for private VIP tours at WDW and that they will take you onto rides without having to wait on line. I don't know what they charge for it.

The idea of people being able to pay their way into no lines (aside from actual tours, that doesn't bother me at all) makes me feel icky.

I'm glad it's not true! Of course, if it were, I'd be pretty tempted. LOL

DL does do a VIP thing where you get an escort and stuff but I dont know if that entitles you to front of the line...It very well may because thats what all the celebs who come to DL do...I have no idea how much it costs...I can only imagine

Yes, although I doubt you could add something like that at a travel agent. When we were there last time, we chatted with a tour leader who was a personal guide for a family on vacation! She went with them to every ride, got them reservations and into restaurants whenever they wanted, etc. Sounded pretty great, but I think it's a special thing. I don't think just anyone can do it, otherwise everyone would be taking that tour!!!:rotfl:

If everyone can, it must be so outrageously expensive that most people couldn't anyways. Not sure, but that was the impression I got. There was another story with this which is why I know this info, but I won't go there on this post :scared1:

Oh yes, that I knew. What we ran into was someone that had a guide with them for the entire day each day of their vacation!! So I am guessing like I said that it would be outrageous to use them every day all day for a week long vacation like they did. She said she was with them the whole week and that would be thousands of dollars!!!

And here is what it says right under the VIP tour: (copied and pasted from site)

Additional Information
This tour does not offer expedited access to attractions.

Having a guide does not get you to the front of the line. We had one at WDW and what he did was just get our fastpasses while we were having lunch.

You can't buy the true VIP service. You have to truely be a VIP or know someone. My husband was lucky enough to have that experience for a few hours last May. He was with a co-worker of his, that knows people way up the Disney food chain.

He was given a free ticket to the park, a personal tour, a couple passes that worked like fast pass (they didnt get to cut in front of other fast pass holders), and they spent some time in the VIP lounge. Dh got to ride on a segway while he was in there. They warned him when they went in that they could be asked to leave if a true VIP needed to use the room.
