front of line

Hi I was wondering if someone can tell me if front of line is wise the second and third week of october next year. we plan on comming to fla for 11 days and want 3 or 4 ant univerisial and are unsure if a stay at there hotels is worht the money for a family of 4 wife son 14 tall daughter 8 ( over 56 inches now) and myself. we do all enjoy thrill rides.

You would probably be fine to stay offsite. However, there can be some pretty good deals in the fall!

If you have the money I would stay onsite. You say you like rides and with hotel express you can ride over and over with little to no wait at that time of year.

sundays will have larger crowds in the later afternoon due to hhn.

on the nights that hhn will be operating, the studios will close at 5 and IOA probably at 7.

october is a great time to visit.

If the money is in the budget I would definitely stay on site! The onsite hotels are gorgeous and make for a very relaxing vacation.

But if the onsite hotels aren't in the budget and you'll have 3-4 days you can still do everything you want even without the front of the line pass. Just get to the parks early and ride the most popular rides first.

I'd try at least One night, as it's TWO days worth FOTL....at least then you can determine if it's worth it in the future for your family. Royal Pacific is the least expensive,and it's gorgeous!!! Also, since your son is 14, maybe you can order them room service one night and take your wife on a "date" and enjoy some of the Citywalk night life.

Yep. Check in early, get room keys, leave bags at hotel, go to parks. Hotel will call when room is ready. Check out next morning and go to parks and do rides until you can't stand it anymore.

This year on the days there was no HHN, I think US was open until 6 and IOA until 7 during most of October. Sometimes IOA is open until 8.

I just love this perk!! We always go from Disney, instead of making it the "Arrival" resort when we fly in, so we have the whole first day. Once we checked in at 8:00 am, and they already had a room ready!! Hoping for some more "Mummy Dust" in a couple of weeks!

Also, they will hold your bags for you until you leave the parks, if you don't want to shlep your bags to the car in the morning (or get paranoid like me that someone's going to break into the car)

I have to say, the front of the line perk was absolutely fantastic. (or whatever it's called) The other thing to consider was the hour early entry into Harry Potter. That was also really a time saver because we did Olivanders and FJ within the first half hour. It was great.

One of these days I'm going to get up early for this! That's one of the other things I love about staying onsite, you don't feel like your going to run into massive lines if you decide to sleep in. I'll never forget going on 4th of July in 2008 and riding MIB about 5 times while other people were still waiting in line

We done the same thing in June 2009 riding the Mummy 5 times straight off and back on...and I'll never forget it unless we top it this next trip and ride it 10. People on the other side waiting in line just glared at us...but we had a blast.

Express pass has ruined me for life, I hate going to any other theme park now and waiting in line.

Oh, I love the Mummy...and the Simpsons....and Spiderman... I really wish that Universal offered timeshares like Disney!! And yeah, the resorts are expensive, but still less that most of the Moderate resorts at WDW. It has us so spoiled, if we are doing Disney on the same vacation, we have to do Disney first, because it's a major bummer going from no lines, to rides that have horrendous lines with Fps already gone!!
