Front Loading Washing Machine Advice

Does anyone have a problem with their front load washer really bouncing during the spin cycle? We just purchased a GE front load w/d stackable set
for shared use in a small three unit apt building we own. Space was really an issue since it had to fit under a stairwell and the GE was really the only one that fit comfortably without a lot of restructuring. The first day it was set up,
I did a load of clothes so I could see how it actually worked and show the tenants and it really bounced a lot during spin. My husband bought an industrial rubber mat to put under it this weekend and we're hoping that will solve the problem.

Just FYI:
If you notice there are quite a few similarities between the kenmore and LG brands. This is due to both being manufactured by GE.

I'm confused. Who manufactures what? I know kenmore and whirlpool are basically the same machine. I think the Frigidare is also manufactured by the same people. Now you are telling me LG as well? So what accounts for the price difference between essencially the same machines?

My front load LG bounces when it spins and I thought that was because we bought one of the low risers to sit it on so it isn't sitting directly on the floor. That's the only thing I don't like about my new LG front loader. I wish it didn't bounce like that.

They just delivered my washer/dryer and set up the washer (they are coming back to hook up the dryer tomorrow because of the gas). I just started my first load of delicates. We will see how it goes. Wish me luck and long life to the machine.

LG is not manufacturer by GE - though its possible GE outsources their manufacturing to LG. LG is a Korean company (LG used to be Lucky Goldstar -a great name if you are in Korea!). LG makes all sorts of electronics, their applicances tend to run high end, their phones are on the cheaper side (I had a LG phone and was happy with it). We also have the LG front load washer and dryer and I like them. I think the washer takes a little long to wash on the regular cycle. I also think the lint trap in the dryer isn't engineer well, we have to clean the trap outside our house a lot more often now.

We just went and bought the Duets last night after extensive research. Also bought the pedestals, and a new refrigerator, so they basically knocked off the price of the pedestals.

Also, wanted to mention that we were able to see many of these machines after they had just ran a load, and the Duet was the only one that didn't have water standing where the rubber seal is on the door. there have been some problems in the past with mold and mildew problems with some of these models. Wish us luck!

I always leave my front loader door slightly ajar for a while after washing so it will air out and I won't have any problems with mold and mildew.

Hope this helps folks. We have had our sears kenmore front loading washer and dryer for 9 years. Our gas dryer went on the fritz last month and we prepaid sears $165 to have it fixed. That guaranteed us repairs this time and for the next year, and if it could not be fixed they would replace it with a new one. Well, the repair man came and was gone after 25 minutes. We were sick at how our gamble backbfired! But that day I realized it only stayed hot for 4-5 minutes. So we resceduled the repairman. He came and the bill would have been $400 on the second visit with a total of $460 for the two. We were so happy we took sears offer. We love our front loaders and will never go back to top loaders. We also like sears repair service, for the most part. Yes, our washing machine gathers water at the seal too.

I Googled "Maytag Neptune Problems" after reading this thread and turns out there is a class action lawsuit!! I didnt even know it! They were replacing these machines with top loaders or vouchers.
