Frommer's Comes Out as Not in Favor of Paperless Fastpass

My family is a timeshare owner through RCI and has been for as long as I've been alive. Every trip we've taken to Disney we've stayed off site in a timeshare resort. Even though we could not use EMH we've been able to perfect the art of fitting everything in in one full park day. Fastpass was an important part to that and I don't like that we now have to wait until after on site guests to reserve fastpasses instead of it being first come first serve. I recently booked a trip for next year with 12 people and figured I could easily plan for all of us to effeciently ride the rides, see the shows, etc. just like I've always done but with the new fast pass I'm leaning more towards just going to Universal instead which makes me incredibly sad as i've grown up on disney and have always dreamed of working there and making it a happy place.

Don't let the FP+ scare you. I booked my FP a few days before arrival without issue. We wee there on a Sunday during the opening of Star Wars Weekend and I thought we'd be In trouble based on what I read here.

But no joke...I went on last night and booked the passes for anything we wanted on exactly 40 day advance...

I haven't had any issues with the system EXCEPT that the bands/ computer systems don't speak the same language and the MDE app/ site sucks and is unstable...
Which is EXACTLY what I would expect with former intimate knowledge Disney's highly overpriced and underpowered networks...
That's how they roll.

Also...I got a cheap flight (out of Philly...rare) and paid exactly $0 for my 7 nights at DVCs...
Which I'm told isn't as good a deal as $3000 for a week at Pop in September...I'm told

If Frommer's doesn't like fast pass plus because it creates 2 classes of customers at WDW then what about Universal that offers unlimited Front of Line Access for most of the rides and attractions at Universal? Is Frommer's consistant and against how normal every day customers are treated there?

Don't know if this has been mentioned so please forgive me if it has. But how about allowing off-site guests who pre-purchase their tickets to make at least 1 FP+ selection per day at 30 days prior to their first park day? Maybe have them register the tickets some how before being allowed to make their selections ahead of time? It's not the 60 day on- site advantage but at least it would give them a better chance at some of the headliners instead of having to select from whatever is left at the time they enter the park. I mean even though you are planning to stay off site doesn't mean you are not "planning" a visit in some way. Or this could very well be a set up to "pay to play." I.e. if you are staying off-site and you want to make selections as early as 60 days out. You can for an additional fee per ticket. Who knows?
