From ZERO to HERO - The October 2015 W.I.S.H. Challenge

I didn't share my WOOHOO yesterday, but this morning I weighed in at 200.0! 200 FLAT!

GET IT GIRL! It's happening this week -- all that stress lifted off your shoulders will result in you making it to ONEDERLAND. You're going to weigh on Saturday/Sunday with pure happiness. YESSSSS. :cool1:

Sharing my breakfast this morning! Oatmeal with blueberries, flax seed, hemp and a dash of cinnamon

Can I have you make all of my meals? That looks really really delicious. popcorn::

Oh my gosh, amazing!! Congratulations!! I think there are few things as gratifying as going clothes shopping after weight loss! Yay!!! Great inspiration for me to keep working at it too, thanks!

THANK YOU! It's been a crazy month - finally feels like the clothes are falling off my body and I have to keep buying things to replace them. At first it was the bras and now I made it only 3 weeks with the jeans. I have to remember that this is a process and I'm losing it a bit faster than what I gained. Plus when you gain you tend to try to stuff yourself into things that don't fit.

But enough about me... Keep up YOUR great week and remember that this is your journey. It is not a race nor is there a deadline to meet. You're making positive life changes and doing better at accomplishing that goal each day! :D

Today is your LAST CHANCE WORKOUT (so to speak) before our second round of progress reports for the month!
How will you use today to your advantage to stay on track and ensure - as best you can - a solid percentage for the next list? Are you planning an extra mile on your jog? Drinking an extra bottle of water during the day? Going to bed an hour earlier tonight so you get more sleep? Tell me your plans!

MIA yesterday. Sorry. My job requires me to travel some and when I got home yesterday, I was beat! My DD was napping so I ended up snuggling with her for a bit and then doing 45 minutes of step aerobics (that I really didn't want to do, lol). It was a long day. Anywho....my plan to keep on track today is to switch up my activity. It's a gorgeous day outside and is supposed to turn raining and dreary starting tomorrow so I thought that I'd go to the local track on my lunch break and walk a couple of miles. I'm hoping the sunshine puts a little spring in my step.

Oh and congratulations to everyone for doing so well in week 1 of the challenge. So very proud of and happy for you!!!

Hubs and I are headed to Disneyland with a list of goals to accomplish tonight: purchase cases for our new iPhone 6s phones, renew our Premier passes (what an insane week this has turned into because of that drama!), and pick up all of the new Nightmare Before Christmas pins (and maybe that Little Mermaid surprise release that is LE1500 if it's still there). Somewhere between all of that we'll be walking California Adventure / Disneyland/ Downtown Disney, having chicken caesar salads, and hoping that our fitbits go above 20,000 steps tonight.

I'm trying to do more steps than usual this week - aiming for about an average of 12,000 per day - because I want to reach 164 this week. If I can cross that threshold I'll join @DisPup75 in the Overweight BMI club.

PS @JacknSally -- your .gif in this post is so perfect for today. I keep trying to find music that matches up perfectly for Hercules' step aerobics but it turns out that he has no rhythm. :rotfl2:

I didn't share my WOOHOO yesterday, but this morning I weighed in at 200.0! 200 FLAT! I thought for sure I was carrying some extra around, so not only did I not expect to see a loss, I definitely didn't expect to see that number! That's the lowest I've been in at least 2.5 years. Maybe I'll make it to Onederland before the wedding after all!! ALSO, including today, only 13 days left at this job, and only 9 of them are work days! :cool1: And then it's wedding and DISNEY WORLD!

So awesome! Way to go!!!

Hey, just wanted to report in on a great piece that I just added to my puzzle: I joined the roller derby! I had my first practice/clinic/tryouts last night. It was so much fun! The girls there seem just great, really friendly and welcoming, competitive on the track but not against each other! Super supportive environment.

I met so many nice people-- basically all in the same boat, with about 20 of us new recruits ("fresh meat") learning to skate together, and pretty much everyone is there to try to improve their life, with pounds to lose and friends to gain. I was really nervous that my body wouldn't be able to handle it (I'm 44), but I did fine. It was very challenging physically, but I just loved every minute of it. We watched the cadets from 6 months ago, and they looked so good! It was cool to think we'll get there too. I'm so pumped! I've always wanted to be on a team like this.

I'm so glad I took the plunge! I've been eyeballing the roller derby for years. So so psyched I'm finally doing it!

I am SO impressed!! You must be a bad-a** !!! And you are super brave to go out on a limb with a new group!! Can't wait to hear more about that adventure!

Okay...this is my whoohoo Wednesday. I attended the spin class at my gym! It was a super intense workout for 45 minutes. I could not keep up with the group but I kept peddling at my own pace and had to sit for some of the standing biking but.....I didn't quit! I really think it's too much for me just yet. I'm only doing 12 to 15 minutes of cardio so far. I think I'll work up to 30 minutes, then try the group again. I did great with my weights, which is critical for those who are aging...you lose muscle mass as you age....that's me....losing muscle mass...geesh! But...I'm loving the gym and I don't feel like it's a chore. I combine going into town with grocery pick up. I have to buy fresh spinach every other day or so cause it goes bad so fast. Lettuce too. So I'm working out and buying healthy foods. And....because I'm in the store so often (super Walmart) I get to see what's on clearance pretty regularly. I've gotten some really good deals! On with the games....I think they are so cute!

SO glad you like the spin class! And woohoo on the clearance deals!!

Arg!!!

I had a nasty encounter with a jar of peanut butter tonight! It ended badly for both of us. The peanut butter got eaten....

I then proceeded to do my exercise DVD! Got nearly sick from too much peanut butter combined with exercise. But at least my Fitbit now says that I am still ending the day with a calorie deficit.

Not a woohoo Wednesday. But I guess my woohoo is that I did my exercise, even with heavier weights than usually and I managed to do the full set of push ups (easy ones on my knees, but still!).

Sorry about the "evil peanut butter incident"!! Glad you were still able to pull out a deficit.

Bad week all around for me. It's customer service week so we have food everywhere...snacks Halloween candy etc. Just hoping for a maintain week at this point. It hasn't stopped me from exercising but good grief!!!!!

Step AWAY from the buffet table!! Glad you were able to keep up with the workouts!!

Went shopping tonight and realized that I'm down another jean size -- size 6 Short at Old Navy. Purchased two pairs to replace my size 8 jeans. I think I'm 14-16 pounds from goal.

THAT IS MY WOOHOO FOR WEDNESDAY. YAAAAY!

giphy.gif

Love your WOOOHOO, love ON pants.... and TRIPLE LOVE your Rapunzel GIF!!

Hey all! Starting typing this response 3 hours ago, but got caught up in actual WORK! :crazy2: So now I'm probably behind again!!:o OH well............P

Thank you all so much for your support and well wishes! :grouphug: Any doubts about whether or not I made the right decision are COMPLETELY gone, as I sit here and listen to the other two women in my department complain nonstop about me and how I do my job... which is funny because they don't like the way I do my job, but if you asked one of them to do it, they would refuse. :rolleyes1 One of them has only been in the office 7 minutes now and hasn't stopped griping yet. What makes it better is they apparently haven't been told yet that I put in my notice, and since I've been here a year and they have yet to actually speak TO me, I'm not in any rush to be the one to tell them. :goodvibes So that's fine, you keep on about how I'm "out of chances" and you're "at the breaking point" and "have to get stuff off [your] chest before [you] just lose it on [me]". I'm going to sit here, listen to Disney Parks on Live365, and cross days off my calendar. :thumbsup2

Thank goodness it's Friday eve, and then there's only one full week left here! The 19th and 20th don't count in my book - I have to be here physically, but that is wedding week AND my last two days, so I will be a million miles away! :woohoo:

I have already started digging around in job openings to see what I can find, and I've got some good ones to apply to. Definitely on my list for this weekend! I am SUPER lucky in that DH2B is so supportive - he is the one that pushed for me to finally take the dive. We've been discussing it for months, but were trying to get through the wedding and hopefully have something else lined up first. But it's gotten so bad here that he told me he'd get a 2nd or 3rd job until I find something else, whatever it took so that I could get out of here now. Definitely a keeper.

So glad you are a peace with the job situation! You will definitely be feeling less stress as the final days toward THE END OF THE JOB and toward WEDDING DAY get closer and closer!

TRIPLE DIPPER WOOHOO on hitting an even 200!!!!!!

GOOD MORNING, BEAUTIFUL PEOPLE! I hope everyone is having a wonderful Thursday so far! We are almost to Friday!!! And with Friday comes our second week progress report! So take advantage of today to get in your steps or exercise session or at least put off that chocolate bar until tomorrow. ;)

QOTD for Thursday, October 8, 2015

Today is your LAST CHANCE WORKOUT (so to speak) before our second round of progress reports for the month!
How will you use today to your advantage to stay on track and ensure - as best you can - a solid percentage for the next list? Are you planning an extra mile on your jog? Drinking an extra bottle of water during the day? Going to bed an hour earlier tonight so you get more sleep? Tell me your plans!

Thanks for the REMINDER that this is "weigh-in eve"!! I almost forgot! I will try SUPER HARD to get in a walk tonight.... or some yard work or SOMETHING active. I was supposed to work for a few hours at my maintenance job, but I begged off..... I wanted an evening at home and it wasn't worth the measly $20 I'd make. So a good solid fast walk and/or some yard work, extra water, a cup of hot green tea (with fiber :teeth: ), and a solid 7-8 hours of sleep (which won't be hard because tomorrow is not a work day for me!!).....and of course, a bit of extra praying and wishing and hoping doesn't hurt!!

Today I'm preparing for a family outing on Saturday night with my daughter and my granddaughter and her new boyfriend. We are going to Dead North....a haunted corn maze in Danville Vermont. We are having a meal beforehand. I bought shrimp and am making a spinach salad with my usual feta cheese, cranberries and walnuts. I'm going to the Oil and Vinegar store to get some new Balsamic Flavors. You can sample the vinegars and mix them with different flavored oils to try. It's like wine tasting but since I don't like wine....it's a treat for me....plus the vinegars are super delicious. 35 calories a tbsp. I'm buying fresh strawberries for dessert with some lite cool whip topping. I feel good about the weekend and will stay strong. I'm already thinking about Thanksgiving and plan on making my crustless pumpkin pie with egg beaters and stevia for sweetener. I made it last year and it was very good. 60 calories a slice. Everyone liked it, even people not watching their weight.

First of all.... I didn't realize you were so close to me!! We need a New England WISH board meet!

Second..... YUM on the balsamic tastings! I like vinegars as well.... sounds wonderful! And of course, PLEASE share that pumpkin pie recipe!

OK, guys, I hate to have to be this person for a minute, but...

It's been brought to my attention that there's been some unfriendliness from some people in the thread toward others in the thread. While I'm not a mod on the boards, as host of this month, I do want to say that this is NOT the place for that kind of stuff. This is a positive, GROUP environment. If you have an issue with anyone in the group, or if you don't want to participate and be inclusive of and kind to everyone and answer QOTD's and give progress reports, etc. Then please take this opportunity to maybe bow out and consider joining back next month. Not saying anyone needs to be 100% in or 100% out, just asking that everyone be 100% respectful of everyone else in this group. We're a TEAM!

OK, back to your regularly scheduled programming. :goodvibes

What the ** %$##??? Honestly? I am STUNNED! While we occasionally have had folks mis-read the "tone" of a comment (easy to do when it is all online), I have never ever ever had a complaint about folks being unfriendly! I am truly HURT! Thank you SO VERY VERY much for handling this so well for us. Well said and I couldn't agree more!!

Phew.... NOW I am caught up! And I need to go back to work..... gotta do some real work if I expect a real paycheck, right?:rolleyes1 ..............P

I've never been to Disneyland. My daughter and her family really love it, they've been twice. It sounds like you are off to a very fun night! You have a great plan, lots of walking....good for you. Have a blast!

Well for me today is weigh in day here work.. I am down 1.8 after my first week on WW .. I think I had a 4 LB goal so that is 45% .. If it's not the right goal I will come back and update... and because yesterday was my last chance work out not today, I walked up and down the stairs at work 4 times, today I took the elevator! Haa..

will be a way till Monday Am , celebrating my 45th Bday with those I love (hubs, kids and parents) eating Fair Foods.. Hope you all have super weigh in and fantastic weekends Michelle

That sounds just evil! Hang in there, let the others eat the candy!

it's worse today...we have a manager with a birthday so there is birthday cake...customer service week treat of the day is TCBY frozen yogurt with plenty of toppings I'm sure...an employees child had a fund raising sale at school...those things are in so there are also 2 peanut butter pies on the table in our department. I'm glad I'm off tomorrow so I can miss pizza day!

Oh my gosh, no fair! That is a LOT of temptation! I've been keeping apples and low-cal crackers right on my desk-- helps keep me out of trouble. But feeling hungry makes this so tough!

YIKES! Do people actually work there or do you all just spend the time eating!? That is a crazy amount of food!

That comment reminds me that I finished all of my apple slices without eating my LC cheese that I brought to go with it! No wonder I'm still hungry!!.......P

:cheer2:You will be strong. You will persevere. You will... SURVIVE! :cheer2:

Take each meal and opportunity for 'bad decisions' one at a time. It's okay to say no. No one will judge you. Keep some healthy treats nearby too - you can be full from good stuff that's part of your plan.

You got this!

Funny note for the day. I, indeed, go on that outside walking track on my lunch break like I said I would. Here I am walking, ear buds in, taking in the sun, when I see something moving up from me. As I get closer I realize its a big spider and, like I'm some sort of beacon or something, its coming fast right at me. I'm sure my highstepping around this thing put on quite a show. Got my heart pumping that's for sure.

Hey guys, just stopping by quickly to answer the QOTD...

How will you use today to your advantage to stay on track and ensure - as best you can - a solid percentage for the next list? Are you planning an extra mile on your jog? Drinking an extra bottle of water during the day? Going to bed an hour earlier tonight so you get more sleep? Tell me your plans!

I added an extra 3 minutes to my run this morning. It wasn't on purpose (I kinda route planned badly and wanted to get to the end of the path), but I say it still counts. And I'll probably go to sleep early tonight. So that's two things.

Okay, hopefully I'll have the time/energy to come chat later. I hope everyone is having a wonderful, healthy, and active day!

I am going to be e mindful when I eat and not so fast. I am also going to bed earlier because I am exhausted from cheer practice last night. I was at 20% last progress report.

Just popping in! I feel like I've been MIA and how there's 3 new pages of comments to read! Congratulations to everyone for their victories this week, no matter how big or small you think they are. You all are amazing!

I finished Day 4 of my P90x3 today, it was all push ups and pull ups :faint:. Feeling proud of myself for sticking it it thus far. Only 86 days to go!

I know this weekend will not be the greatest diet wise. I have a baby shower to attend Saturday then my birthday is Sunday! My fiance got us tickets to Newsies which I 'm so super excited about! I've been DYING to see it and I cannot wait. Anyway, so i will continue working out and eating as healthy as possible, but will focus on maintaining weight this weekend I think. I'm not huge on sweets & desserts, but there might be a fair amount of wine and whatnot consumed. :scratchin

Happy Friday (almost!) everyone!

HOW COOL!! Can not wait to hear your updates on this new addition!

On the bright side, though PB might not be the BEST choice, you did get a good boost of protein! Congratulations on your exercise achievements! I can't do proper push ups even withOUT my belly full of PB :rotfl:

Oh no! Sending you lots of pixie dust that you'll have the strength to finish out the week without the temptation wreaking too much havoc on your progress!

OH MY GOODNESS, YAY!!! (and what a perfect GIF to go along with it! haha) SO SO PROUD OF YOU!!! Wear those 6's EVERYWHERE!

Sigh. I have NOT been acting like I want to turn the corner to onederland. I've had the nibbles and dipped into the office candy jar, ate a larger than expected lunch, are bread with dinner, and finished the day off with a cookie. The bright side is it was a 14,000+ step day. The bad news is that the day wiped out a big chunk of my weeklies and we leave for our week with the in-laws tomorrow. Must pull it together!

Does anyone else feel like this, too?? Or is it just me? LOL :rotfl:

Hahahaha!

Great job getting that much activity even while exhausted! Hope you enjoyed the sun!

Haha! I'm terrified of spiders. That would send me RUNNING in the opposite direction!

Hey guys, just stopping by quickly to answer the QOTD...

An extra 3 minutes definitely counts! Great job and hopefully a great run!

I am going to be e mindful when I eat and not so fast. I am also going to bed earlier because I am exhausted from cheer practice last night. I was at 20% last progress report.

That's a great goal! Hope you get some rest. :)

Happy early birthday! Woohoo on sticking with the P90x!!!

I love that you get so much Disneyland time that you actually have a to do list!

We managed to succeed pretty well on our to-do list -- but nearly had a heart attack. So Disney changed their mind (again) and all of the Premium Annual Pass giftcards are now being recognized only for dollar value and we were told differently on the AP phone line on Monday. (ie: The Premuim Annual Pass giftcards would be grandfathered in as Signature Plus, don't worry!) Somehow we worked it out that we'd get the 'old pricing' for Premier since that's all we wanted buy and it's technically not a Disneyland-specific pass.

Now we're labeled as "Premier Domestic Annual Pass - Shell" in the system. I have no idea what that means, but it works and gets us to Disney for the next year.... which we just reserved two more small trips to Disney World. One for my graduation (May 23-28) at the Port Orleans Riverside in a Princess Room and the other for my birthday at the Beach Club next September for Food/Wine and MNSSHP. Turns out we are going to get our money's worth with this pass for all the agony we went through. :rotfl2:

Saving the bounce-back offer for next Christmas with our december trip. Just easier to book these other ones now since we're needing a room only. Starting in November of next year we'll be sans annual pass and just going to Disney World for Christmas once per year.

Morning all! HAPPY FRIDAY and HAPPY COLUMBUS DAY WEEKEND to my U.S. friends!! Shaping up to be a busy day here at home, so I just wanted to take one minute to say hello! No time to chat right now, but hopefully will be back later!.............P
