ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!! Just when I am getting more relaxed with flying they changed the threat alert from yellow to orange.

Awww don't worry Gail . . .all will be fine . . .if you remember, they raised the alert last year at this same time around the Memorial Day Holiday . . .

I absolutely HATE flying, but I do once a year . . .if I didn't push back my anxiety about it, I would never be able to go to WDW or anywhere else . . .

We flew on July 4th last year . . .everything was FINE . . .I look at it this way . . .I personally feel SAFER when they do raise the alert . . .keeps us on our toes . . .extra security . . .etc . . .

Don't be afraid, you'll be just fine! :D

Ok Gail, what are ya gonna do? Are you going to sit at home and worry about something that might happen, somewhere, sometime? Or are you going to go and have some fun?

Honestly, I don't even pay attention to the colored coded stuff anymore. Sometimes I think it is just a ploy to keep us all stirred up. I try not to worry about what I can't control.

;)
I know, I'll send you my address so you can send me instead. ;)

I still haven't figured out what the average citizen is supposed to do with this info??

Thus far the whole system has proved to be a joke; even if there is solid information suggesting a heightened risk of attack, without some kind of specifics what are we supposed to do about? Be extra afraid?

Thanks everyone, good points, I think I will be ok once I get in the plane, I THINK is the key word. I was ok but the closer it gets I get scared. I think I am going to call my doctor to give me some thing to relax myself. Oh, I feel like such a baby.

Gail, you aren't a baby at all. You've recognized a problem and are trying to deal with it. You'll be fine. Enjoy your trip. :)

I am to the point that I don't care anymore. I don't want to know if they change levels anymore. If there is an exact location and threat, then tell us. Otherwise, what is the point in worrying about something that may or may not happen, who knows where, and if it does when. Maybe it is just denial on my part, but I feel better not knowing what level we are at. As for my family, we are leaving for Disney on June 2nd no matter what level we are on.

Well Gail...I have to say I'm a "Nervous Nelly", but I feel better than I did last night. I'm taking my 2 children, 10B and his friend (10B too), and 6G to Disney tomorrow. We're leaving from Boston, changing planes in DC, than on to Orlando. This makes made me extremely uncomfortable considering intelligence said they've intercepted e-mails etc. advising Muslims to leave NYC, Boston and Wash. DC by TODAY. I'm shielding the kids from the news so they won't get nervous, but I'm not doing well with this! I know I can't run scared and cancel, but I am getting a little paranoid about flying tomorrow! I don't blame you for being hesitant, but I guess we can't let them get to us!! Hang in there too...you're not alone!
