I now am an even firmer believer that everyone should have trip insurance. The only reason we got it for the Disney Eastern Magic cruise we did last week is because it was Janaury, which is flu season, and having a 7 & 9 year old, you just never know when or if they'll pick up the flu bug (even though I am always making them wash their hands, etc). I never in a million years dreamt we'd use the insurance on me. HAHA!!

Disney was great, though... the day I had my "incident" was when we docked at St. Thomas, and I got this injury as we were heading downstairs to get off the ship on St. Thomas to head out on our shore excursion. Needless to say, we never did get off this ship, and we missed our shore excursion. But, Disney refunded our shore excursion for everyone in our family 100%.

Anyway, the good news is that we still were able to really enjoy the rest of the trip despite this happened in the middle of our trip. I mean, here we were in the Caribbean, on a Disney Cruise, where it's 80 degrees.... how could we NOT have enjoyed the trip after this happened. ;) it's amazing how being on a Disney cruise just makes you so happy no matter what!

The only thing I was bummed about is my husband and I were going to run the 5K they do at Castaway Cay in the morning the last full day of our trip.... I obviously could not do it, and I was looking so forward to it! But, my husband was able to do it, and so that was good. Next year for the PC cruise... Castaway Cay is our first stop, so hopefully i can keep myself injury free for 24 hours on the Wonder to do the 5K at Castaway Cay on Jan. 7! hahahaha!!! :thumbsup2 (ok, so hopefully everyone in our family can keep ourselves injury free for the full 15 days!!:cool1:)

:yay:Here's hoping your 3rd cruise is incident free:yay: Since Castaway Cay is our 1st stop, hope you and hubby get to run the race together:thumbsup2. My family enjoys 'cheering' :cheer2:the runners as we sprint for our favorite beach chairs.:worship: We've had many a cruise friend who has enjoy the race, will keep our fingers & toes crossed for you!

Thanks!!!! It was fun to cheer them on.... I got a video from the top of the ship as they took off... it's was a great "bird's eye view". ;)

Does anyone know at what points on the PC cruise we'll move our clocks back for each time zone? I'm assuming we change our clocks 3 times since the east coast is 3 hours ahead of the west coast.

Gee - 15 nights plus three hours!

Happy Friday everyone. Denise - snow?? How about that! Everyone stay safe and enjoy your weekend. Drew (youngest DS) is coming home this weekend to file his financial aid tax stuff so I see a trip to the Mexican restaurant in my near future. Since he is going to Florida for spring break (with his DGF) I won't get to see him until term break. I just love visits from any of my boys.

I dont bake bread, but I love to bake. Since we are trying to fill up our last pages I am adding a few cake photos. Nothing at all to do with DCL just bragging, lol.

I should have added them one at a time so they wouldnt have been side by side. Oh well, I'm still learning how to post pics

Wow Tami! :worship::worship: I've done a bit of decorating for my kids bdays they wouldn't stand a chance against yorurs. I guess I'll post mine too. I'll do one by one to get the post up.

This was my first try at fondant. It was for DS 1st birthday:

No great details like yours.

This was for DS's second bday:

The rocket on the right is Pat Pat Rocket that we modeled it off of.

Okay and my fourth and final attempt at fondant:

Their birthdays are just one day apart so we've been holding their bday parties together. However, this was the first year I only made one cake. It was a bit bumpy on the side but I know I'm no professional :lmao:. I just do it because I like it and my kids love my baking and homemade buttercream.

Hey everyone just wondering who is all planning to go to disneyland after the cruise and what are peoples plans for transfers to Disneyland??

We would love to but don't think we'll make it. DH will have to go back to work on Monday and wants/needs a couple of days to get back into the real world.

But, this does bring up a new question. For those that have cruised into the LA port before: is it simple to rent a car like it is in Port Canaveral? We would like to rent a car to take to the airport because it will be more flexible if we can only get a late flight and because it's cheaper than Disney transfers. However, we will take Disney transfers if renting a car is too big of a pain. Don't mind a bit of hassle but don't want to end up with a huge headache either!

We are planning on Disneyland after but my mother will be in Long Beach for a work convention and the plan right now is just to have her pick us up and then then three of us head to the resort.

Amazing cakes ya'll!

Yes we will be going to DL for the weekend. We have family in the area and will also be getting together with them.

Just a reminder to all the new cruisers, please PM TigfanJeff with your info to be added to the cruise website (see the link in my sig to see the site if you haven't yet).

Tami,

Those cakes are amazing. Is that Poohs house? I'm not a cake baker, but I was going to try red velvet chocolate coated balls for v day.

Wish me luck!

Katherine

:worship::worship::worship: Wow, reading all those pages!!!

Glad to have another Palo friend:banana: I think there will be plenty open ressie to be had, based on the previous comments:woohoo: Your husband should get a foodie medal for that double dinner takedown:rotfl2:

Your comment on the GA wedding, I can't stop laughing:rotfl:I've flown into Alabama and driven to Atlanta for a client before, just to not deal with Hartsfield. Looks like there will be quite a few of us at the Southwest gates for this cruise :grouphug::grouphug:

If anyone needs Southwest drink coupons, send me a PM!;)

yeah, I literally read every post, I was exhausted, but it was worth it...I got to find out how crazy you all are too :) LOVE Palo and i can't tell you how much that boy can eat!!! And about the GA wedding, don't get me wrong, I wanna go but when every flight starts at around $300pp there is no way I can justify that :sad1:

Hey everyone just wondering who is all planning to go to disneyland after the cruise and what are peoples plans for transfers to Disneyland??

We are hoping to do a couple of days there, it is my first time to the west coast! My husband and I met and became friends with Sandy and Tony (goofprincess) on our honeymoon cruise and they are the whole reason we are on this one so we hope that they will show us around DL ;)

Hope everyone has a great day, it is a sunny and cold one here in NH. My husband won't tell me what we are up to for Valentines Day, all I was told was to be dressed to the 9's and ready to go for 5:30! Cheerio :)
