I realise most of you are old hands, but has anyone else read this book?

What an amazing story! I would love to hear what anyone thinks of it.

I thought it needed a "cast of characters" to keep everything straight, plus a time line.

It could not have been published as a work of fiction, too unbelievable.

I bought the book around X-mas time and my DH has started reading it so I'll read it right before the cruise or on the cruise during our sea days.

In addition to getting some super pins while at WDW, I spent part of a couple of afternoons participating in the recreation activities at the Wilderness Lodge. Managed to tie on the Trivia contest both days. In addition - in honor of Auntlynne, Shoshie & Adam, and Sandy, the princess half of Goofprincess - I played bingo. They played 5 games each day and I managed to win each day!

Well done chippermerlin!

Alps pics are AMAZING!! Glad you had a good time!! A bit cloudy here today but no rain!!:yay::cool1:

Just wait a couple of days...:sad2:

Not much to report - just adding to the post counts. DDs have been watching the DVD my Brother put together of our Disneyland Trip this past November. DD2.5 keeps telling DH "I go to Disneyland Peeze"

:rotfl::thumbsup2Kids are so darned cute sometimes!

Tami enjoy your trip! My Mom and StepDad live in Brawley and go to Algodones quite a bit - apparently there is a great Chinese food restaurant there!?:confused3
Yip, very cute, my dn used to call lentil soup mental soup for years.
Frizzle is freezing drizzle(light rain)

Thanks for the pictures from your trip! The snow is beautiful, but I think I'll take my snow in the form of the snow cones at the Japanese Pavilion in the World Showcase area of Epcot. I still have nightmares about shoveling our car out after the snow plow went down our street when we lived just outside Washington, DC - and that was in 1983!

We had a great week at WDW - arrived on the 13th, bringing sunny, warm weather with us. Sure glad we had decided NOT to do the January Marathon weekend - brrrrrrr! I'm happier that I'll be doing the Princess 5K - Auntlynne will be there, too. Anyone else joining us?

They played 5 games each day and I managed to win each day. Surprisingly, the prizes weren't Disney items - instead. I came home with "Taboo" and "The Game of Things" - and gave my other game choices to two children - one doesn't need to schlep everything home!

We had a really nice time - visited with friends; ate in great restaurants; rested; watched Snow White while sitting on a lounge chair on the beach; hit all the parks at least once, and even made it to Downtown Disney.

Glad to be home, even if it has been raining. We head to Disneyland on February 13th for three days. Then it's stay home until September. Guess I can cope with that.

Hope everyone is warm and not "frizzling." Love that word!
Sounds like a great time, I would have taken a snow cone and Fl instead!:thumbsup2

I bought it for my dads xmas, I am hoping to get it back and read it myself, but he can be a bit slow!

Hello all. Well one month from today I am back at WDW for a week at my home resort of AKL. We have a club level studio booked for a week. I am really looking forward to ESPN the Weekend. Well the rain has stoped, but it is only temporary. Rain coming again on Tuesday and then on the weekend again. Jeff I am just wondering, do you usaly pilot the Monorails during thevl day or at night? I would love to meet you on my next trip

We fly over to Orlando just 2 weeks today!!!! We have 12 nights at SSR, then 7 nights onboard the Magic() followed by 3 weeks in a villa with heated pool!!! Can't wait. Just have to get the fit to travel from the specialist on Wednesday following my recent stay in hospital, but that should be no problem.:dance3:

I got it at Border's when we were in Traverse City a few weeks ago but have not gotten past the forward. My goal it to be done with it before we leave.

Sounds like a great time - and good luck with the 'fit to travel' clearance from your specialist.

Icky here - aside from the fact that it is still dark, we are in for a dreary week - more snow on our forecast. Our schools are on a 2 hour delay but I didn't have any travel issues this morning.

The challenge for the week - stay dry and warm!

DH and I got it before our 2008 WB and read it. Dry in some places and hard to keep up with everyone but a great read anyway and almost a must for the canal. Puts a whole new perspective on it when going through. Especially when you first the French canal.

We also got two DVDs on it which were very good. Can't remember the names right now but will post them when I find them.

Is this a book that would be better to have as a paper book or would it be ok as a kindle book? I would love to read it but if it has all sorts of pictures it would be better in a paper book.

This may be the definitive proof that I am insane, but I told my dh before I bought it that I would own this book in two forms. I did buy the kindle version, but I also want the paper back that I will most likely buy used

I love my kindle, but there are times I need to hold the book in my hands. There are pictures and maps that want close examination in this book.

My preference is night, but I usually end up on days when I work because it is easier with the kid.

That makes sence. I too will only work at night. Since I have no kid that is one thing that will not change. Well maybe we will run into each other when I am there.

Both Jeff and I are night people.... so of course our son is a morning person. Life's funny that way

I will put this down as reason number 725 not to have children.

I bought the Path between the Seas I did the Paper Back Book. Not going to start in until we start our canal vacation. Now we are leaving Monday and will spend 3 nights at Kidani Village. I too am a night person. I work 3-11p.

Just adding to the post count...

After 10 days straight of grey rainy days I'm so ready for some Kauai sunshine in two weeks. :beach:

I do not do well without sunshine once in a while. Even before the rain started we were having grey foggy days. I miss our CA sun. :sunny:

We're doing an early 30th Anniversary trip since we can't go in March for our actual date.
