Anybody know anything about a romance at sea package that lets you book Palo, spa, excursions, etc earlier than you would be able to otherwise? I thought I had read it somewhere on the boards, but I can't find it on the DCL website.

Also, why does everyone want to stay at Port Canaveral the night before sailing? Is there something I don't know about? We stayed at the Hyatt MCO before and liked it just fine. Was planning on doing the same thing this time because we will get in late on Wednesday, but now I don't know. Any input is appreciated.

Here is the link. It looks like they took the being able to book early part out of the package.

Hi all! I got back at 1am this morning from a short but extremely HOT trip to WDW and a Doctor Who convention. I now know to not take the 10-day weather outlook so seriously---it only spit rain on us twice---and there I was with 2 umbrellas and 2 raincoats. I seriously overpacked---didn't need any of my long-sleeved shirts or my pants. Sigh. I also came back 5 pounds heavier due to all of the great food at the Epcot Food and Wine Festival. That was one awesome Festival! I can't wait to go back there some time! My favorite foods were the chocolate lava cake in Ireland, the pot-stickers over in China and a mushroom soup---I can't remember where. The worst item I tried was apple strudel near Germany----it was frozen inside!

My friend and I stayed at the Dolphin----just love those soft beds---and the cast member at the Disney Cruise Line desk was trying to tune in to the announcement of the Disney Dream but she couldn't. I read a little about it in the Orlando paper----there look to be some fun features.

We had a lot of fun at the Halloween party last Thursday night---not too crowded---but it seemed like they gave out less candy---and at a lower quality than last year---I've only been twice----not sure if this experience was normal. I had my first pictures ever taken with characters----Chip and Dale and Timon-----they were so sweet! We went to Downtown Disney the next night---big mistake---a real zoo with trick-or-treating taking place there for the public.

Moved from the Dolphin to a Ramada on 192----what a dump! I almost abandoned my friend and returned to the Dolphin! Besides the Doctor Who convention, there was a dog-groomers convention---the first room they put us in was right next to the main grooming room---loud blow-dryers and louder barking! Moved rooms and the next smelled of mold/mildew---the carpet was damp, the coffee pot had mold growing in it, the air conditioner unit leaked, the shower water pressure was a joke, there were little bugs everywhere and we were next to a noisy pool area. I think we should have asked to be moved again but I was really afraid what we would face next. This was truly the worst motel room/experience I ever had! Oh, and did I mention that they couldn't find my original reservation? Good thing I brought along a print-out with an early July date on it. Oh well. The experience didn't kill me---right?

Another bad thing that happened was I purchased a lot of coconut/chocolate and lime candy and cookies and magnets at the Westwin news store at the airport----the clerk forgot to hand me one of the bags----I called this morning but the day-clerk looked around and didn't see my bag but she promised to talk to the night-clerk and call me back about it. I've never had anything like this happen to me before. My work-mates are going to be sooo disappointed tomorrow when I show-up empty-handed. Wish me luck!

Our Enterprise rental car was great---it gave me freedom to visit the Prime Outlet shopping mall where I picked up a Skagen watch from the last Panama Canal crossing---it is a limited edition watch of 100---they had about 10 there---I paid $87.99 for a listed price of $175.00. That reminded me that I purchased a shot glass, a coffee mug and a beach towel on my 5 night cruise last year----all of the Panama Canal merchandise was on sale---I didn't think that Disney ever discounted their own items----I just thought they sent stuff to their outlet stores.

Oh, I've also been bitten by the pin-trading bug----quickly found out that it is really addicting---not to mention expensive! But really a lot of fun! I even found Disney cruise pins and a Disney cruise pin keeper. I purchased some WDW pins to trade for DL pins when I visit DL after the cruise.

My next vacation is to London in January----I'm trying to figure out if there are any cheaper seats than coach class----I spent all of my money in WDW and at the Doctor Who convention. But I got all of my Christmas shopping done!

Just thought I'd let you guys know how much fun I had in the World! Now I'm off to read the pages of this thread that I missed:)
Glad to have you back safe and sound
Thank you everyone for giving me the heads up on booking the Radisson for 1/5. Was planning on taking a red eye on the 5th but with the Dream being there thought we might get caught up in the fun.

I, also, am in favor of one main logo and the others for magnets. In fact, I've already made some into magnets.

On a more serious note, my DH had his angiogram today and it's not good news. He needs a triple bypass. Will find out Thursday when the surgery will be. Good thing is DH is in excellent health and Dr says after the bypass he shouldnt have to go through any of this again. So, keeping sending the prayers and pixie dust as we will need it.
I know it is a huge surgery but these days it is amazingly routine, he will be brand new after wards.
Tami I hope all we be well. My best friends father has had two quad bypasses. Now it is like he is 21 again.

Thats what i was going to say about 2 people I know that had this.

Pahrumpgirl, our dh's and I will be staying at MCO/Hyatt before our cruise. People like to stay by the port because they can watch the ships go by and it means they're that much closer to being on the ship. Also, I'm pretty sure it's somewhat cheaper than staying at the airport.

Tami, sending lots of prayers and pixie dust to your husband. pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:pixiedust:

My DH and I have stayed at the Hyatt several times before a cruise. We like the convenience of it. It is probably cheaper to stay by the port and possibly more fun but by the time you rent a car, collect your bags, drive all the way there, take your bags to the port and then return the car, I am not so sure. I know that several families went together and rented limos in 2008.

The ones who stayed at the Hyatt the night before the 2008 PC all got together for a meet that evening and then went to dinner. They, also, had a meet at the port.

Carol

Sorry to hear about your husband. I will keep your family in my prayers.:grouphug:

Today is one of those days I wish the cruise was now. Calgon take me away!!!!!!!!!

I could use a cruise about now! We're heading to WDW next week for a few days -- if I see the DCL coach, I know I'm going to start crying. :sad1:

We attempted to take this when we went last year..they do not allow this on the PC cruise. Now, not sure if they will allow it this time but at that time - they stated not on cruises over 7 days.. let me know if you hear anything!

So are we - heading to WDW next week!!! I am too excited about actually booking the cruise. The long wait has not officially hit me yet.

I'm having a great Disney day. I came home to our cruise docs and DCL House Party package waiting for me at the door! :goodvibes Of course, I had to open the party package asap...poor doggies had to wait a few minutes to be fed. The package includes an awesome DCL Alaska statue, apron, pin, luggage tags, posters, bon voyage stake and banner, large magnet and much more. It was like opening a really early Christmas present! :woohoo:

We'll looke for your cruise sign as we pass Daytona on our way to port on Friday! At least we'll wave as we go by, :rotfl:

Well, we were booked on the Christmas 2010 cruise but it was just looking too difficult to get leave over that time. The good news is that we're postponing our cruise into January 2011 and will be joining all you lovely folks on this PC cruise!!

I am obviously going to have to spend some time reading through this thread (I can't believe how long it is) and am thrilled to see others are just as excited and have created a website, logos, etc! Obviously my kind of cruisers :rotfl:

Far out, where to start? I need to read previous trip reports, get into a FE exchange, catch up on this thread, etc :thumbsup2

Cool, lucky you, sounds exciting.
