From WDW To DL With Love - January 06, 2011

We were at DL yesterday for Halloween -- not too bad crowdwise.

As far as the logo...I really like the idea of one main logo for t-shirts, siggies and stuff. We can use whatever other logos we want for magnet and such. If we plan on getting t-shirts, it would be nice for them look the same as a group. Just my thought.

I agree -- I like the one logo. We've done that on other cruises and makes it really easy to spot. Besides, I don't think we'll be the only large group on there with a logo.

DH and oldest son are flying to Australia in six days. I am flying down to Disneyland to spend five days at the mouse. Anyone wanna meet up say Nov. 8-10.

I know someone posted about the crowds that weekend. All I can say is SSSHHHH. Most schools up here are getting Wednesday the 11th for Veterans Day and NOT Monday. So I am hopeful it won't be too bad.

Also not jumping ship to the Dream. The short cruises don't interest me AT ALL. We are all about the PC!!

I was surprised as we only waited 50 min for Space Mtn. in the middle of the day. Fastpass were for 11:30pm. The fireworks were so great.

The schools down here are also getting Wed. the 11th off. So I personally don't think it will be a problem over the weekend because of the holiday falling in the middle of the week. I would love to meet up. The only problem I have is our APs are for weekdays only. The 11th is also blocked out for us. We might be able to do Mon or Tues. but I'm not sure how many people can do those days.

I just wanted to say again, I don't think we should pick one logo, and just use them all. This is just the way I feel. I like all of them. I think they all should be used. I think people should just use the one they like best if they want to use one at all. I see no need for one to be picked. Because I feel this way I will not be participating in the poll. Its funny what different cultures/ people call things. That's not even close to what my (very) traditional Polish family would consider stolen! But even among my family there is differences in stolen...

Where about in poland does your family come from, Len(dh) is half polish, we have been to visit his family many times, we love poland.
I would not have called that stollen either, you could kill someone with a bit of the stollen I was thinking of.

We don't have to have one specific logo if that's what the majority wants. The main reason for having a logo that represents the cruise is so that anyone wearing the logo on a shirt or having it on a magnet on their door will be instantly recognized by the rest of us.

In the past someone would make a logo early on and that was simply adpoted by everyone else.

I have no problem cancelling the poll and letting everyone pick whichever one they want.

Please remember there may be some problems getting a logo printed on a shirt that has copy writed characters, etc on it.

I reall think this is what we should do. All the logos are on the web page and we all know what they look like, so we should be able to easily identify each other.

I tend to agree with most of the others. Having one logo to represent our group (especially as it gets bigger, which it will) is a good idea. A lot of us post on other threads and one logo is a way to share the recognizable fact that we are proud to be a part of the Dis family on our cruise.

It has become a proud tradition of Dis Boarders on DCL to have one logo to represent their cruise. They all share other designs to put on shirts, magnets, etc. but one is used to represent them as a proud family group.

As in FE's, the logo is not something anyone HAS to use. Everyone on this thread is entitled to do as they wish the way they wish and will gladly be accepted into the "family" but there are those of us who enjoy being easily recognized as a part of the "family".

Also some of the more creative people in our group have more than one great design. Good work by all of you!!!!

Mainly Warsaw, but part of the family is from Krakow. I have never been. My Dad should have been born in Poland but his family left during the war (he was actually born in an Italian work camp).
Not sure what you mean by killing someone with stollen! Ours is more of a fruitcake type thing but MUCH better!!!

I mean as in throwing it at some one, it is like a brick.
Leonards Dad left to fight in the war, he met lens mum and never went back, his family are from near warsaw, Wolomin.
He(len) spent a lot of times there when he was young, he can speak a bit of polish but I struggle when we go. Last time we went to a hotel in warsaw, it was amazing, here is a picture from our hotel room.

Tinkryansmom---I think it would be great to meet up. I am currently changing my plane reservations to fly back on Tuesday, the 10th. I am staying at PP this time because DH is not along on this trip as he is gonna be in Australia. He usually stays at Hiltons and collects points but wanted me on property so it will be easier for me. I have no problem with that

On another note, I am also wanting to pick one general logo for our group with the idea of going with other logos for door magnets. It will be hard to choose; you guys are all so creative.

Indian summer days still here in CA on the 2nd day of November.

Disfaninca----I will be there on Monday so will work; also Chippermerlin is going to be there so I will ask her. I use to have the pass that was more limited so I undersand. We are trying to decide if we should let our APs lapse for a few months. They expire in Jan. and since we are going to FL in March and won't be back to DL until the summer.......its something to consider.

Thought I would throw this question out there as we've been invited by family to join them on a DVC member cruise. Its only a four nighter and never been on a shortie before. : How are the perks, atmosphere, etc. Just trying to weigh the cost versus my booked transatlantic which I am trying to hold on to with every fiber of my being.........

We confirmed our cruise on the Wonder yesterday! We live in Fl so we will drive to PC and then fly SW home. We will also stay at DL too have to wait until June for that. I have read 90 pages so far!
