Some of us really enjoy pirate night.
Jeff I am glad you like it. Personaly it is my least liked night on the ship. The only thing I like about it is the food and Fireworks. I guess I may be the only one who had their entire vission of a Pirate distroyed by Johny Deep. It is a tired and old night and it needs to be replaced or updated. This will be my 8th cruise with DCL and unless the update the show and such, it will hold zero intrest for me. Also you have gone way above and beyond for the web site. It is great. Anyway you can put a way for people to sign up for stuff on there?
We are doing the transatlantic west bound also.We will have lots of extra hours for the late nights on that!

pirate:you love it really;)

We are doing the transatlantic west bound also.

We will have plenty of late night drinking on that one. Also the reason I left the meet thread is due to the theme and such. I just can't do it. I just can't be apart of anything Captain Jack, since it is that charater ruined by image of a Pirate.

My concern with that is public defacement and the issues it causes. The question is, do we end up with less of a headache because I need people here to PM me or e-mail me changes or if we open it up and have to clean it up every time some 12 year old decides to have some fun....

I did put our approximate route up on the map page as well. Yes it goes through some land in a couple of places, and yes, its probably further off the coast of Baja then we'll ever get, but its at least close. :)

Jeff makes perfect sence to me. I never thought about that. So then can we put groups on there, and then PM/email you to sign up? Think that may work? Also the route looks good to me. :thumbsup2

We just got off the Western Oct 3 where we booked this Panama. :cool1::cool1: It will be me (Joleen , 36), DH (Gary, 42), DS (Jackson, will be 2 ½ at the time), DD (Sailor, will be 1 ½ at the time of sailing). We also have DS11yr but he will stay back in school for this cruise.

Hoping my in-laws will be joining us.

Me and the kids will be going on a 4night Feb 21st 2010. We are going with my mom, my grandmother, and hopefully my sister and her two kids. It will be a little hold me over till the Panama.

If all works out for Feb, the Panama will be my 4th Disney cruise, or my 4th cruise all together. Can’t wait.

I tend not to post much, but I do lurk quite a bit. Nice to meet you all.:thumbsup2

Jolene and Family WELCOME aboard the thread!!!! Lurking is ok, but we would prefer to get to know you guys...

As requested, Below are a few of the menus from the EB PC 2008. I am sorry they are so big..I could not get them to edit smaller. The menu's are rather large and I only scanned the main side of them. The other side held desserts and after dinner drinks usually plus the Chef's recomendations. If anyone really wants the copies of these or the rest - let me know. I am happy to scan them and send them to you PM'd.

The first is East Meets West which was the menu the night we went thru the Canal. I imagine they may "recyle" this menu for our cruise. :)

This one is Taste of the Caribbean - probably was Tropical Night

CCF10122009_00002.jpg

And finally, this one was Around the World. I can't remember what night it was served.

We had the sane on the WB. But for us it was east meets west. And we got to keep the menus from that night.

Absolutely. I'll get that together on both it's own page and the calendar page.

Thanks for posting these menus Des. After the discussion about them the other day, I went in search of my set. Can't find them anywhere. But I guess it doesn't matter right now as our scanner broke the other day. :headache:
But I did run across the list of which menu was each night when visiting one of the Concierge level rooms during the cruise. I posted this over the weekend, but some may have missed it that want an idea of what happened when...

(Theme/attire for the night is in bold.)
For the EBPC in 2008 we had the following dining rotation:

Puerto Vallarta - Parrot Cay (Taste of California Menu)
At Sea - Lumiere's (Lumiere's menu)
Acapulco - Animator's Palate - Mexican Night (Mexican Riviera menu)
At Sea - Parrot Cay (Parrot Cay menu)
At Sea - Lumiere's - Semi-Formal Night (Prince and Princess Dinner menu)
Panama Canal - Animator's Palate (West Meets East menu)
Cartegena - Parrot Cay - Tropical Night (Taste of Caribbean menu)
At Sea - Lumiere's (Master Chef's menu)
Aruba - Animator's Palate - Mickey Mouse Club (Around the World menu)

I wondered if anyone from Colorado might show up. I grew up in Pagosa Springs, but have been in living in Florida for most of this decade. I sure do miss the snow sometimes and love to go back to visit.

It occurred to me that SOME of the things we might be signing up for in the months ahead(i.e. Secret Mickeys, a scrapbook class (if someone decides to lead one) or who knows what all else might come up in the next YEAR!) will require some coordinating.

Perhaps it would be better for Jeff if each activity has its own "coordinator" who keeps track of who's signed up and of communicating any pertinent information to the participants. Then that person could be in charge of updating a spreadsheet or list or whatever and sending that to Jeff periodically so Jeff only has to replace the existing with the new.

Otherwise I'm thinking there could be a whole lot of updating going on that Jeff would be responsible for keeping track of. If we end up having a lot of activities, that could be a HUGE job for one person to be in charge of.

Also, I know there was some discussion about whether to "schedule" FE gifts or not, and at some point we will probably need to decide that among other things. But just to add my 2 cents, I'm thinking maybe it's too early to decide some things like that. Over the next few months there could be dozens of families who join our group and some here who end up deciding NOT to cruise and that might drastically affect the preferences expressed by the group as a whole.

I'm just as excited and eager as everyone else to get started planning activities, but I'd hate to have people who join the group, for example a whole year before we sail feel like they never had any say in anything.

Again, I'm just making a suggestion. Everyone is free to (gently, please) disagree, but I wanted to put it out there for discussion.

Thanks for posting the schedule..I could not longer find mine. Our server gave us all of the menus from the cruise..I have the dessert ones too. I am hoping one day to get a piece of glass cut for our dining room table and place the different menus under the glass to go with our Disney artwork in the house. I might be missing a couple but I have duplicates of others (not sure why - I didn't ask :) )

Quick question, does anyone have a suite booked? I know it's not listed on the main cruise list (not that I saw anyway) buit thought some people may not want it listed. If you do (esp a 1 or a 2) could you let me know or PM me if you don't want it public knowledge. We're trying to figure out how we got shut out of any suite and wanted to know if anyone had one booked, what they had booked and when they booked.
Thanks

Not trying to bring up our past PC as I know this is a new one but we did have a website and we did have one person who coordinated the info for each "activity". Our info was posted on the site and everyone PM'd us if they wanted to sign up etc. They we updated the list and submitted it if needed. The logo was chosen early on but most things were left to the individual when they wanted to do it if at all. Such as participation in different activities, wearing of t-shirts, etc.

I agree that how we will distribute the FE gifts does not need to be decided right now. As for if someone wants to coordinate something - I think volunteers are great and it's never to early to start planning but I agree that the deadlines for such activities should be much closer to the sailing date. I think the logo should go on as planned. Just my opinion.
