From the World to the Land - Canal optional. :rolleyes1

I love this.:cutie:

We are excited that you guys are going on this cruise too, it should be a lot of fun. Now we will have lots to talk about when we get together. :)

hey, you found me!!! :cool1: we'll definitely have lots to chat about in the hundreds of days to come before we sail - my cousin lives in costa rica and is a tour guide in the national park so i'll be emailing him about a visit - you may want to come along once i firm up the details!!!

carrie switched us to early dinner seating :worship: so i don't have to deal with my grumpies waiting for dinner!!! talk to you soon!!

Dimples and OC would be all over that! They LOVE partying with other plushies.

SO cute! My critters will be ready to party!

It will be great if you can find the directions for the FE exchange, Carol. Maybe when the young man gets the website up, that would be a good place to post them, so you wouldn't have to keep repeating!

Chewy and Sadie always enjoy meeting up with other furry friends. On one of our cruises ( think it was the 11 night SC) the Muppets were on board and all our critter friends were invited to an after show party by Kermit.

I will see if I can find the article I wrote. I will post a picture of ours in a moment.

The 'group' giving worked out very well, especially for the commemerative items. Carol mentioned our dry erase boards, one team did mouse pads with the ports of call. Carol (et al), didn't we even have a team that paid for the lanyards? That was especially nice, since trying to collect $ from such a large group would have been a nightmare. So while that gift was not a surprise (as we needed to order a specific number and make name tags), it was a great way to organize it. We just did the 'lanyard team' for our Tortola cruise and it worked out very well.
.

Yes, we did have a team that paid for the lanyards. If I remember right they sent them out early to those that wanted them early and the rest picked them up at the port or on board.

I liked the way we did the WB repo, getting gifts every day was fun and then there were people putting extra things in there too that werent on teams.
I had to order lanyards for a project and found a great website that was very easy to work with and not expensive and they can put whatever we wanted on there.The lanyard makes a good first day gift. I would be willing to take that chore on if everyone wanted.

I am really glad to everyone talking about lanyards again. We gotten them for several of our DCL cruises and they make a great way to identify other Disers that cruising with you.

Hi! I am sooo glad someone mentioned lanyards! I'll be happy to contribute to and help with them! We helped with the ones for the first 5-night cruise last September----I think I see some familiar names on this PC cruise----I'm just glad we won't have any tropical storms in January----I found out that I do get seasick---but my husband doesn't. Sigh.

I am Susan and since my non-Disney fanatic husband Tom loved the first cruise---he has decided that another one is in order---and I'l be celebrating a 40-mumble-something birthday on January 17th---so we are killing two birds with one stone. We live in Maryland, work for the National Archives---no kids---but have 2 dogs---we'll be bringing a stuffed doggie on the cruise to make up for the ones that usually sleep with us---so I am excited about a stuffed animal cruise picture! I am already working on the FE gifts! Can someone who did the PC cruise previously please let me know a ball-park figure for the number of cabins that participated in the FE?

I really really really look forward to thie planning and then meeting all of you and having lots and lots of fun on this special cruise!

On the 2008 WB we had about 147 cabins and over 100 participated.

We have two miniature, long hair dachshunds. One is 1 1/2 years and the other is 7 1/2 months. We also have 4 cats. We miss our pets a lot when we are away but my cousin comes in and house sits and the animals love her. Hope she will be able to do it for this trip.

Hi Lisa, Carly would be interested in getting to know your daughter before the cruise. Does she text (what teenager doesn't) or is she on facebook? PM me the information if she's interested.

We just started homeschooling. Carly has hated public school since she was little. She's a serious student and finally got fed-up with teachers having to deal with kids who goofed off instead of teach. She goes to school 1 1/2 days a week at a small, Christian "homeschool" and does all the lessons at home. We'll just have to get everything in advance. This cruise is a life lesson that can't be passed up.

Our last cruise was the first one we've done much Dis stuff on. We didn't have a specific day to pass out FE gifts. We just did little bits at a time and eventually got everyone.

I like all the logo designs so far. I think the Wonderama would work for men and women.

I'm up for pre-cruise meets too. We live in the DFW area. We'll also be at WDW Oct. 16-23 and Dec. 18-26 and then sometime this summer. Just pm me if anyone is interested.
Tenya

We'll just miss each other at WDW. We'll be there October 25-November 4. But we're in North Dallas so we should definitely try to hook up some time in the next 15 months. Our kids are much younger though, 2 & 4 right now (3 & 6 on the cruise.)

Mommaluvsdis, Denise and I with our DHs will be at WDW from October 17 to October 31. We will be doing MNSSHP on the 20th and 27th.

Here is a copy of the PC repo navs.

The daylong deck party sounds fun. (I just don't think I could watch the transition from dawn til dusk).

We were up early enough to get a spot up front on Deck 10 then after the first lock we went down and showered. We went between our stateroom verandah and the decks all day. We found the humidity and heat too much to stay out to long at a time.

Checked the weather reports for Panama City in January. The temp average is the same no matter the time of year. However, the humidity should be less. In May '05 the heat and humidity got unbearable at times.
I talked with hubby some more about the website. He's cooking up something good he said. He'll get online soon and post what he needs from everyone. However since he won't get started on it until Monday at the earliest he's asking for everyone's patience. He estimates Nov 1 as the website launch date.

Sounds great. Tell him to take his time.

Can anyone post a picture of a FE for reference. This will be the first time for us. Thanks

Will do.

Thanks RRBB for the Info on FE's. I had no clue what y'all were talking about.:confused3
There seems to be a lot of people from the west coast going on this cruise, I'm from Jax, FL, and glad the Wonder is going to make it's home over there, but I will miss it.:sad2: The Wonder was my first cruise ship ever.
Anybody else from the Sunshine State? I will be at MNSSHP Friday, Oct. 2nd.
This is going to be the greatest cruise ever!!!!:yay:

We're from Ohio. On the WB2008 PC crossing I think the majority of Disers were from the west coast and it looks like that may be the case again. Very few were from the mid-west and east coast.

This is the dry wipe board that we got on the 11 night SC and gave our group the idea for our 2008 WB PC FE gift.

This is the one we gave. We couldn't use Mickey from our logo because it is copyrighted but we used everything else.

I just love the UP picture. May I borrow it and put some words on it?

Too cute! And I STILL haven't seen this movie. :sad2: Was planning on catching some on the 9/12 Tortola, but timing just didn't work out.

Hello fellow Floridian. :) Looks like we are in the minority this cruise but there are a few others.

Don't be overwhelmed by the FE. You can use anything you want to hold all the goodies. Only criteria is that is has to be able to hang and have pockets. When we do our pre-Christmas cruises we use a Disney Christmas stocking. You can also find several on eBay. Just search for "Mickey hanging organizer" (or whatever character you prefer) for the cheap ones that are $8-$12. Or if you want custom hand-made ones, search on "fish extender", these are about $30.

As someone already posted, don't stress about the gift you give. Half the fun is just checking the FE to see what new thing someone left you. Candy, door magnet, postcard, etc.

Has anyone looked at the first post recently? The list of cruisers is getting long!! :cheer2: I'm so excited to have over a year to plan and get to know everyone this time.

I too am nervous about what to give away for the FE exchange.

Don't be!! Even a few candies are gratefully received. :thumbsup2 It is however why I liked the group distribution though as I didn't have to think about it and just pay up and distribute. Also you have less cabins to distribute to.

It made me cry and was a little too close to home, but I really enjoyed it!!!

It just dawned on me that I still have not received my mailed confirmation. Has everyone received theirs who booked on the 21st? My reservation is still there I just checked.

Don't be nervous... anything is great. We had everything from candy to note pads to pens to glow sticks....it's just fun!

I think I have a picture of some of our loot..let me seeif I can find it.

It's the thought that counts, not the gift. And it doesn't have to even be Disney or cruise related. Here are some more examples. Most of these you can buy in bulk from a party, crafts or dollar store and then distribute a few to each cabin.

* pencils or pens (Disney or just decorative)
* stickers
* any type of party favors
* glow sticks
* temporary tattoos
* little bottles of bubbles
