Hi Kay,

We live in Los Altos. I saw someone else on the board from SJ. DH works for the State. This will be his retirement cruise. Then he'll be working a "fun" job. That's what I am doing right now.

How many cruises have you done? We have done three so far; two wests (finally got to Grand Cayman and one east). Just got off the Magic on the 26th and adjusting.
:laundy:

Go for the fun job! :thumbsup2 much better!

We have done 2, both Easterns (one with St Maarten and the other with Tortola). In fact you must have been getting on as we were getting off ours - we dis embarked on the 19th. Still getting used to real life again! :lmao::lmao: Still catching up on the :laundy:

Nan (njskerven) was on our tortola cruise is also from San Jose (up near Santana Row if I remember correctly).

Here is a Pic of how close to the wall you get in the locks.

We got closer - we scraped! :rotfl2: They fixed it in Cartagena...

It was pretty interesting to see how close you get though.

Funny, In 05 on the Westbound we scraped as well. They had a auction on the ship for the piece of the canal we took off. It went for something like $3000.

I have 3 more pics for you guys. The first is just another tight shot, second is the visitor center and how many people were there to see Mickey, and third is Panama city from the end of the Canal.

Thanks RRBB for the Info on FE's. I had no clue what y'all were talking about.:confused3
There seems to be a lot of people from the west coast going on this cruise, I'm from Jax, FL, and glad the Wonder is going to make it's home over there, but I will miss it.:sad2: The Wonder was my first cruise ship ever.
Anybody else from the Sunshine State? I will be at MNSSHP Friday, Oct. 2nd.
This is going to be the greatest cruise ever!!!!:yay:

Oh my goodness, I was thrilled to see you on the board. Its Sandy and Tony aka gooofprincess. Shirley and Doug are booked as well. Disney bingo here we come. You gotta win this time. Last time I saw you was in Paradise Pier getting ready for that mouse event. I am heading for Disneyland in November to celebrate birthdays.
:yay::yay:

OMG!!! This is shaping up to be the BEST CRUISE EVER! All of our friends from different parts of our life on board at once! I was thinking of you all and hoping you'd be on board. :cool1:

Yes, Adam and I are doing Bingo in moderation. And I have to win. We'll be at WDW in November for another MouseAdventure. Say hi to everyone for me :)

Here are a few more pics. The first is the Magic docked in Aruba, the second is the Magic coming up on the Bridge of The Americas, the third is the Magic docked in Puerto Vallarta, and the fourth is the Magic in the bay at Cabo.

Hi Sandra,

Welcome.

Where abouts are you in the bay area? We are in South San Jose.

I'm also in south San Jose. Nice to see more local folk for this one.

It'll be interesting carrying a suitcase all around the states for 4 weeks before our cruise...wonder what hubby will think about that!

So essentially you give a gift per cabin, not a gift for every person in the cabin?

It's nice to see another family from Australia! We too are Australian. There are 4 families in our group all from Sydney and we have two 8yr olds and a 7 yr old in our group. Where are you from?

We are in the Blue Mountains!!

Hi Everyone. We are officially booked and found the thread. I am so excited I cannot tell you.:banana: My daddy always wanted to the canal crossing with my mom so I am living out their dream. It is going to be awesome.

My name is Sandy. We are from the SF Bay Area and are thrilled to be bringing the WONDER to her new home. I have been on three cruises with my DH. In fact, just got off the Magic week and a half ago. We had a great western cruise.

I love love love the graphic. I am totally a princess fan if you can tell from our name. DH is the goofy one.

Gotta go back and read posts from the beginning.
:dance3::dance3:

Whew! We had transfered our reservation Monday and had to put the additional deposit down, got it in tonight and we are getting the confirmation from our Travel Agent Whoohoo!

Now we just have to figure out if we will get the time off from work but I won't know until next year for sure. So I will hang out hear dream about the cruise and hope for the best!
Welcome guys.
Here is a picture of ours.

In hindsight I probably wouldn't have done pirates but that was our theme in 2008. I love it tho! She does amazing work.
Great fish extender
Hi! How fun to be cruising together again. And yes, we are celebrating our one year anniversary in Disney with our new little man!! :goodvibes:love::cloud9: How have you been?
Weve been good, youve been busy obviously, been to La and all around this year, I think all I do is work, walk, run and holiday, in no particular order.
DS was 3 1/2 years old on our last cruise. He was PT and registered for the Oceaneer's Club. I thought he would love going there, but no. (I think part of it was he had an accident the first night and had to page us for clean/dry clothes, and also because he didn't know anyone though he did make a few friends during the 2 weeks.) We did get him to go to a few activities, but after dinner each night he wanted to go to Flounders with his little sister. Since there weren't that many little ones on the cruise and because he was borderline as far as age goes, they had no problem.

I'm so excited that this time around both kids will be in the Club though. I think having his little sister there, even if they aren't in the same age groups, will make DS feel much better about it. At least I'm hoping that's the case.

That's so generous. Thank you! I think with 15 months to go, a few days or even weeks/months of waiting won't be a problem at all.

Here's our Fish Extender. It started out bubble gum pink with Mickey Mouse on each pocket. I originally added some sea themed stamped images to cut down on the pepto bismal look but didn't like how it turned out. So I had to paint over it. Now you can hardly tell that it used to look like so many other purchased FEs.

Another great fish extender
I found this post in another thread with some great information about fish extenders, FE exchanges, photos, etc. Check it out... http://www.disboards.com/showpost.php?p=32651483&postcount=378

Hi. We are cruising as well; booked this past Monday. We live in Los Altos. I am totally with you re DCL CA resident rates. Its a big state:rotfl: This is our first long cruise and first on the WONDER. So excited.

Yup....booked, deposit paid....lets bring it on!

:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:

Ive been waiting to see how you got on????!!!!
How was the mouse?

I really like that. That is really cool

I second that! And thanks for posting the additional pics, its nice to get a sneak preview.

disneymum2201 unfortunately we're not that close. We're from North Ryde, Concord and St Ives! Forgot to tell you that the 7 & 8 year olds are boys as well. We've booked the april med cruise so we'll be getting on as you're coming off!

Welcome to all the new people!!

I want to extend a special welcome to those from Oz!! I visited your beautiful country for 2 weeks in 2007 and very badly want to visit again!

I wish to make a small confession. I am fascinated my marsupials. You have so many of them and they seem just so cute!! We really have only one here in the US and it's not cute at all. In fact... people try to run over them in their autos when they are on the road. How sad! I do not like all the nasty venomous spiders and such. That scares me!! That funnel web spider can live in the cities!! Do you ever see them? I just don't do spiders! ACK!!!:scared1::scared1::scared1:

Anyway... back to the real topic.. .PC!
I'm not really a night owl. I'm on second shift now... so I do stay up a tad later, but I try hard to go to bed no later than 11:30pm so that I can have a bit of normalcy and take care of things in the am if need be. But on this cruise... it will probably be the same result... after late dining.. I'm so full they practically have to roll me to my room! All that great food makes me soooo sleepy!!

I have 3 dogs and 2 cats and it will be up to my Dad and my boyfriend to care for them while Mom and I are on this trip! I'm sure they are going to be so thrilled!!! (NOT):rotfl2:

I have seen funnel web spiders outside and they are welcome to stay there. :scared1: We dont leave shoes outside and have not any in the house. There is a little wallaby that lives in the bush behind our home. We usually see hear him hopping away.:)
