I had a nice post with all kinds of replies ready to go last night, and lost it. :sad2: So let me try again.

This board is going to move fast!
I'm finding the pace of this thread quite manageable myself. For the last PC cruise it seemed to move about 100 pages a DAY. I just couldn't keep up, especially once we had a newborn in the house. (She was booked on the cruise before she was even born.:upsidedow)

I'm totally with you on these two. We used to prefer the old Tropical Deck Party compared to Pirate Night (though it is fun to dress up for Pirate Night) and Animator's is our least favourite restaurant too. Parrot Cay is my fave :)
Maybe we'll be lucky enough to have a Tropical Party on this cruise. We had both Tropical and Pirate Parties last time, as well as other theme nights.

We also had on our cruise a Secret Mickey gift exchange. There was one for kids and one for adults - you could either do it as a single or a couple. We set a value between $25-40$ and asked that it be about 4-5 items including the gift where you identify yourself. We had a gathering in one of the lounges near the end of the cruise to identify ourselves.

It was a lot of fun. We filled out a small questionnaire that helps our SM from favorite candy to characters etc..

If anyone is interested in this - I would be happy to put it together and someone else can do the FE if they would like to. Whatever works! I am a professional volunteer so just let me know.. :)
We didn't do SM last time, but I think the kids would enjoy it this time around.

Well, that's a carload of points for sure, but if ya got 'em then good for you! That would never happen in a million years in our household, we're always borrowed to the max. Odd. We're so GOOD about not borrowing money.:confused3
In our house we totally believe in Deficit Point Spending. :lmao:We have a December Use Year so for this cruise we've borrowed the rest of 2009 points, most of 2010 points and most of 2011 points (which we won't actually get until nearly a year after the cruise.)

I hope everyone is having an awesome Friday!

I am so excited! I am packing and leaving in about an hour to head to the new villas at Grand Californian!

We took a tour before we purchased but can't wait - we have invited my best friend and her daughter for tonight to have a slumber party...
Have a great time. We took a tour when we at DL last month. I'm sure we'll be staying in the Villas next time we make our way out west - maybe for a couple days after this cruise.

I just took a much needed break from work and found the "DIS mini-navigator" from our 2005 PC cruise. It was a book put together be some of the DIS cruisers (including JenKatt and TigerFanJeff) and it was really helpful. It includes dates and times of all DIS events, birthdays, anniversaries, cabin numbers and dinner seating. It also had a seperate "teen and tween list" so some of the younger DISer could hang out together. I would be happy to put this together and print for everyone if you all think this would be helpful. It will basically be a printout of the first post on this board with additional info such as FE participants and cabin numbers, etc. That way it's one less thing everyone has to worry about writing down, remembering or packing in a suitcase. :)

If you would like to share your special event with everyone on the cruise please send me a PM with your information.

Here are some of the DIS functions from the 2005 PC cruise. Let me know if anyone is interested in and can orgnaize any of these again or anything new:
- Mickey Tag Game - game of cabin door tag with Mickey magnets
- Pre-cruise meet at Disney (someone staying at Disney the night before the cruise would host this)
- Sailaway meet on Deck 10
- Create large Sailaway banner to hang over deck 10 at sailaway
- Morning jog/exercise group
- Nightly walk around deck group
- Room tours
- Group photo
- Group pirate photo
- Scrapbooking meet
- Book exchanges
- Pajama breakfast
- Group island tours
- Disneyland meet after the cruise
- And new for this cruise - The stuff animal meet and greet! :)

Just ideas.

Des, hope you have a wonderful weekend. Post pics when you get back because Carol and I too are hoping to snag a room for a few days after the cruise.

Dawn that would be awesome. Let us know if you need some help underwriting the printing costs on this. I got one of these when we cruised on the 11 Southern Caribbean and I still to this day reference it! That thing was/is so handy!
We, too, had a navigator put together of all the activities and events planned here on the DIS for our 2008 cruise. It was in the form of a PDF file that everyone was able to download about 2 weeks before the cruise and print out on their own - so no one was resposible for printing, packing, and a distributing to the masses. It was about 15 pages long and included meets planned before the cruise, ongoing activites throughout the cruise, group excursions (planned outside of DCL), and deck plans where everyone (who shared the info) was staying. It was such a great resource.

I had to laugh when I saw the Stagette party...I forgot I had one! Just a group of women using an excuse to drink more out by the pool!

I am at the Villas! They are beautiful....I took lots of pictures and will post them when I come back on Sunday. I took some on my iPhone so I will see if I can get those up here.

This is a one-bedroom villa..there is more and I will post those pictures on Sunday night

Glad you mentioned the graphic. Anyone that wants to submit a graphic for this cruise is welcome to do so. Please PM it to me within the next few days so we can set it up in a poll to vote on. If I could have them be sunday, that would be great! Who knows, your graphic could set the mood for our cruise!!!!

Any chance we can hold off on this for just a little while? Most people haven't even been able to book this cruise yet! We could be missing out on some great designs.

EDITED: See, I didn't follow my rule about multi-quoting and reading everything before I posted!

JanDave, who is currently on the Magic, posted that the booking desk said this cruise is 50% sold right now.

That's sad to hear, because like many, I don't get a shot at booking until Monday. and the prices will have already increased :-(

Yes we agree with you and we are giving everyone until October 18. That will allow time for bookings to settle down. At that point we'll do a poll and pick the winner.

Any announcements can be found on page one, post one.

Howdy! We are in 6511. I cancelled our cash reservation and booked on points so I have had a cabin change - we were in 6317. Super quiet area - we are in 6311 on our upcoming b2b cruises and have stayed in that cabin before. We have also been in 6507 (gee, sounds like I get around) and enjoyed that as well. But, the steamer trunk is right on target - love the extra space.

FE's - we will participate I think as well as with the SM.

Hi Gail, I'm Holly......I work with Jan! I'm looking forward to meeting you on this cruise! :goodvibes

I just took this at goofys kitchen. It is my first attempt at a photo here. We went for my wifes birthday.

Jan's my co-worker! I hope she's having a wonderful time, but I'm SO GLAD she'll be back to work on Tuesday! I'm starting to pull my hair out and have developed an eye twitch. :headache:

I understand about the eye-twitch. I'm waiting for my team-mate to return to work on Monday. It was a pissa being at work all week and not having ONE SINGLE MINUTE to tell anyone about the wonderful vacation I just went on! (To say nothing of having all that work to do!)

 That really stinks.

Wish I had known you were here..I am at the Grand Californian. Would have liked to meet you.

That would have been cool. We walked over there. I won't lie, I was very underwellmed by the new pool area. I am going to post some shots of Gatun Lake from the 08 Westbound.

We are in!!! I was on business travel all week and when I got home, my DH has booked for us!! :cool1::cool1:

Interested in FE, but I have never done it before.
