Does someone have "Jeff's" DISname? We want to sign up for the FE exchange.

Is there anyone who purchased their cruise after the Secret Mickey's were assigned that would still like to participate? I would be happy to try to coordinate round two if there is anyone else out there.

Thanks!
TigfanJeff

I would care less where i sit, as long as the people next to me use their seat and not half of mine. but my 6 foot husband believes he needs tons of leg room instead of just an aisle to stretch his legs in. he'll survive. based on prices i see, i suspect we'll be useing sw as we fly bwi and i cant imagine anyone being cheaper. and more flexible. hope they dont lose that!

Nothing is changing. Well except that all of the AirTran people will have to get used to the way we do things.

I doubt that this has anything to do with SW buying AirTran, but the AT flight I bought a couple of weeks ago is now totally different. :headache:

I thought I had my flight plans all done but my non-stop 4 hour flight is now a one stop flight that takes almost 8 hours. Oh, and that stop is in Atlanta--I'm flying LAX to Milwaukee.

I was hoping to spend Sunday, Jan. 23rd in Disneyland but it looks like we will be spending the day traveling home instead.

Hope everyone else has the flights they want and they don't get changed.

Quick Fish Extender Question:

I noticed that there are more than 50 staterooms participating in the FE exchange :cool1:

So do we all put stuff in everyones FE or are we assigned certain people? I've never done a FE and I am really excited about it so I am starting to shop :woohoo:

Also what kind of items are best for a FE echange I have a few ideas already, but I'd love more ideas

Thanks so much for all that are putting all of this together

In the past it has been every stateroom. Treasures we have found in our FE...pens, pencils, magnets, tattoos, strands of beads, note pads, stickers, shot glasses, rubber duckies, first aid kits, sanitizer, keychains, etc....oh and DH's favorite a rubber chicken keychain. Just some ideas.

I would try calling them, can't hurt.

I am sorry this has happened to you. Once we take control this will stop for the most part. Air Tran had a bad rap because of this practice.

Also Is anyone else doing a Castaway Cay 5k my DH would love to do it! I'm gonna try to make him a shirt :goodvibes

I'm going to do it, Not sure how well it will go since my current time is 32:00 on a treadmill with no hills or heat but I got time to work...

Which actually leads me to a question. Would any of you running types out there be willing to PM me to give me some ideas on how to train up my time for the 5k? :lovestruc :rolleyes1

It's a funny thing - like most people, I'm annoyed by the fact that some things that were once included (luggage, meals, etc) are now added fee items. And I appreciate Southwest's approach (luggage is free, but you can pay to get on earlier).

But where SouthWest has recently lost my business (both the flight to Orlando and another D.C. round trip) relates to a different kind of fee that I actually like...

The other lines are increasingly offering seats with extra legroom. At 6'2, an extra 4" if legroom is a huge difference in comfort. In fact, from my perspective it's 90% of the value of a business seat (I'm fairly thin, so the width of business class seats isn't that big a deal for me). At about $50/flight, I'm getting 90% of the value of a business class seat at 10% of the price - it's totally worth it.

It used to be those seats were only available as bonuses to elite frequent flyers. I love that they are available now for added cost, and that can make the difference in my choice of airline.

I'll still fly Southwest up and down the coast. But for longer flights, as long as the base cost is reasonably close, I'll go for airlines that offer the legroom, even when it costs a bit more.

:cool2:

Just in from seeing The Social Network. This movie was way better than I thought it was going to be. I highly recommend seeing it. The guy who plays Facebook founder Mark Zuckerburg should get a Oscar nod he was that good.

Good Morning, Happy Cruisers!

We have gotten NO other sign ups for the Banana Bus tour in Aruba. :confused3 Please PM me if you are considering this tour.

Dateline - Old Key West

Since the last deluge early in the week, the weather has been glorious - sunny, not too hot, and low humidity :cloud9:. Sadly, today is the last day before we start home. Despite the fact this is about my 50th trip in 10 years AND I have the PC cruise to look forward to - I am REALLY bummed to be leaving. DH is already looking forward to being home, whilst I am clinging to here like the grim death.

Yesterday, we spent the day eating way too much in EPCOT. It was soft opening for food and wine fest and I'll tell you the offerings are Yummy. Highlights were souvlaki chicken in Greece, lobster pie in Ireland, and an absolutely authentic Nurnberger wurst in Germany. By night time, though, the crowds (and the drunks) were out in force, so we fled.

Happy day, all!

For anyone who might need a small multi-plug with USB charger for the room, I got the following Belkin one for $14.99 (list $24.99) at BJ's Wholesale club, if you have one nearby:

http://www.belkin.com/IWCatProductPage.process?Product_Id=400738#

I have this and it works great. I got it from Dell a while back for $10 as one of their daily deals. It goes on every trip with us and I use it at home all the time to charge our multiple laptops and iPods.

I don't have any experience with this, but the only downside I've heard to it is that you can't really charge two iPods at the same time. It can't handle both USB chargers at the same time.

My husband is keen on doing this but I have some doubts. It is expensive and I was wondering what it is like diving down in it. If anyone can give me some pointers.

Also anyone doing the Highlights of Costa Rica or the Aireal Tram?

We are doing the Aerial tram and boat tour. Not thrilled about the long bus ride, but it looks like all the tours have a long bus ride.

We are just going to bring a DSi for my son and iPad to watch movies/read books to keep us busy.

We did the submarine excursion in St. Thomas one year and are doing it in Aruba for something do to even though it is a little on the pricey side. I don't remember it being that bad as far as the dive goes, it's been several years though.
