From WDW to DL With Love - January 06, 2011 part 3

Just an update on the PV canopy (zip line) tour I posted about. We already have 20 people interested for the zip line and 6 for transportation only (zoo area).
I doubt they count the transportation only as part of the 25 people needed for the 25% discount. But I'm also sure there are several people waiting on DCL to release excursions before they decide. I really don't think we will have a problem getting 5 more people to join. I'll probably wait until at least 2 weeks after DCL releases excursions to get this group started. But we are definitely doing this and organizing a group even if there are not enough people for the discount. BTW, anyone over 6 years old can do the zip line. trying to rejoin this thread but I am soooo far behind. Had a spectacular trip to Alaska in June and summer with the kids is flying by, but wanted to throw in here that we will probably do this trip - 3 adults and 3 kids. So we'll have our 25. I'd much rather do this trip with you than a bunch of ya-hoos on spring break. Keep us in the loop. Thx

Thanks! Things are a little calmer tonight. Got everything unpacked today and the truck returned. Now starts the difficult part of finding her a job.

We are also thinking of getting the new Kindle. Anyone have a Kindle good bad?

Love, Love, Love our Kindle. Its the first generation. Its been on countless airplane trips, a couple of Disney Cruises and to Castaway Cay. I just bring a gallon size zip lock and its ready to go near the water. The only negative I can say is that its considered an electronics device for takeoff and landing, so bring something else to do during those time on the airplane. I would like to get one for DH so we do not have to share but he doesn't want it yet.

I have been so intrigued by Kindle's - or e-readers but can't seem to make up my mind. I did go look at Amazon and see that the third generation is about to ship. The take off and landing time can be dealt with but I figure if i had one, I would read way more than just when I travel. I think.... Guess my next worry is leaving it at a lounger on a ship or a beach somewhere while I swim/sit in the hot tub.

Well, I get a dinner invite from DS#1 for Ruby Tuesday's tonight. There is an avacado turkey burger in my future - providing the menu has not changed since the last time I was there.

Last year my sisters husband fell on hard times at work and they moved in with their baby in November........after 8 LONG months they JUST moved out and are doing just fine.
I felt very blessed that my husband and I were in the position to help her family get on their feet and provide a place to stay while they were down on their luck. Not everyone has someone to turn to.
It was very sweet of you to make that drive and be there for your sister.

I was not really into either UNTIL my mom gave us one for Christmas. Now I am addicted. I do read alot more but I go through phases. I always hated buying a book reading it and then having it sit there or I donate it. I know the book still sits there in electronic format but it takes up alot less space.

I have taken the kindle in its gallon size ziploc into the tub, hot top, and to the beach.

Just thought of another downside, some of the publishers have been either changing the cost of the digital book or not releasing at all to digital. It can be frustrating, but so far the cost savings has been worth it for me.

My husband and I just got back from a two week camping trip to KY. we attended a camping rally at the KY fairgrounds along with 2500 other campers. It was over 100 degress almost every day. I see everyone has been busy on this site. I am a little confused on a few things and I did sent out some PM with some questions. Are we using the rubber bracelets to identify Disboards members? I know on the TA amd MEd we used lanyards with our screen name and first names on them and it was very easy to spot someone and go up and talk to them. As for the FE when it got too large they divided into groups of 25-30.
I have not checked to DCL site since we just got home- are they offering a DL package to go with the cruise?

They are definatly a good idea, re ssome publishers, Im not big on certain Authors, I always buy from the charity shops, just whatever I fancy.
Reading nora roberts at the moment and karen slaghter as they took my fancy, If I am missing one from a trilogy I get it from the library, but the beagles have a tendency to steal stuff so I try to avoid that.

I love my Kindle. I wish everything was offered that way (Harry Potter books aren't, which STINKS). The thing is, I read fast, very fast. On a 2 week vacation I could easily read 6 to 10 books. Instead I just pack 1 light weight Kindle!

There is a TERRIFIC company that has been personally recommended to us by friends who Deep Sea Fish when they go to Mexico.
For a fee you charter the boat size of your choice, with this you get a crew for the day. Charters can be tailored to your needs and they have plenty of experience with Cruise ship passengers.

I'm happy to pass on what I read, but mostly people probably won't want my books I don't read fiction. What I have stockpiled so far are Gail Sheehy's Pathfinders, The Senator (about Ted Kennedy), Child of the Holocaust, Women who run with the Wolves, A remarkable woman (Katherine Hepburn) and The long life and turbulent times of 60 minutes (American TV show)

Monorails.org broke that story about 2 weeks ago. I asked Jeff about it then. He'll believe it when he sees it. When you understand that they haven't even rebuilt the other monorail yet, you understand why. (It's not that WDW hasn't tried to rebuild the monorail, they just can't find anyone who will).
