Glad it wasn't any worse Alan, though any earthquake would freak me out!!!
My mother in law (who lives in Northumbria in the UK) was visiting one year. DH was out of town at the time, so it was just us girls and DS at the time. Around 10pm we had an earthquake - around a 5.something IIRC. So I jumped out of bed, got dressing gowns for myself and MIL. Knocked on her door and asked if she was OK. She wondered why I was concerned so I said that was an earthquake. "Oh" she replied, "I thought it was a truck driving past"

DH still complains he missed the last two "big"-ish earthquakes here (anything bigger than a 3) as he was traveling the times they occurred.
