From the uk dreaming of Disney World

Hi,

Im from the UK and have never been to disney world and have promised my two that this year is the year. Can anybody help with villas, car hire, park tickets ect. I do not know where to start. Travel agents want £4000 minimum before we even have park tickets. Im looking at doing it independantly and was just looking for a bit of help. Thanks in advance.

The best place to start is to take a look at Disney's website directly and also browsing through these boards as there is a wealth of knowledge of what you're trying to accomplish.

We rented a house through VRBO.com. Depending on the time of year you can get a good deal. We had a 4bed/4bath (I have 5 kids, though, you could do with a smaller place that is, likely, cheaper) and with a private pool for $1500 for 2 weeks. Email the owner directly if you can. They are more likely to make a deal.

Discount tickets can be purchased through Undercover Tourist.

We drove our own car, and didn't rent, but I would look on the Orlando Airport site (MCO) and see which rental car companies are there and then price them out.

There are also various online travel agents who specialize in Disney. Most will give you a free quote for staying onsite.
