From the Sea to the World - Completed!

Your Palo inner looked really good, I have seen quite a few Brunch reviews but I haven't seen too many dinner reviews in TR's I have read, only a few so it's good to see one. I have heard of this Sasha before on other TR's, (can't remember whose it was though).

Looks like your excursion is a great one so far! Glad you are seeing lots of fish.

Great update! DH and I loved Mexico! Someplace we will be going back to for sure... :thumbsup2 Nice try with the pictures and I would have been the same way with the waterproof camera. I don't know if could have justified the cost either. Unless it had a clearance price...:rotfl: Looking forward to hearing about those magaritas YUM... :)

Awesome adventure , if only I was brave enough and could stand my face being wet !!!:rotfl2: I like being in water but only waist deep and not for too long !! Can't wait to hear about the rest of your tour and the drinks !!!

great dress - you look like Daisy Buchanan from great Gatsby!

Glad you got Sasha as your server in Palo!

Thanks!! :goodvibes

Yes, I read on your and your sister's TR that you had Sasha as well and liked him, too. And then noticed his name being mentioned in other TRs as well. He seems to a good job overall!

I was a poolrat way before it became my profession. After swim practice in the summertime The whole group of us would just stay at the pool and hangout all day long. Hence the "poolrat" because we were always around.

After I had my DD I went back to aquatics part time since it was pretty flexible. BK ( before Kids) I did some after afterschool program work being a lead teacher in the program of elementary school kids. AK ( after kids) I enjoyed the flexibility and in the end figured why not do what I enjoy??? :)

Love your formal black dress and on sale too !!! So pretty and you look fabulous in it too !

The snorkeling excursion looks like fun. The margaritas taste good? Oh do tell. :lmao:

I hope all the stress in your job does not make you enjoy the pool less now!

And thanks for the compliment on the dress! :goodvibes

More about snorkeling and margaritas in a bit!

Now that is my kind of morning and excursion! I do wish they had better room service breakfast options, we were similarly unimpressed but it did the job I guess.

I am very impressed they dove down and got your snorkel, that's wonderful!

What a lovely lovely morning so far.

I think the room service breakfast is mainly convenient - and I have to say that the fruit was good.

And the excursion was just all around wonderful. More will be posted in a bit!

Glad you enjoyed the dinner review! And I have seen Sasha mentioned in a few TR by now. Once you know a name, you recognise it! :goodvibes

I am planning on posting some thoughts about Palo dinner vs. brunch when I review the brunch (yes, we had both!).

Mexico was really lovely. My boss at work actually owns at a timeshare on the mainland just where Cozumel is and he has been on Cozumel in the past. Before we decided on the snorkelling he showed me pictures of Tulum, the Mayan ruins, as well as of other Mayan ruins in that general area. It looks like a great place for a vacation!

Awesome pics! :goodvibes

Thank you!

Awesome adventure , if only I was brave enough and could stand my face being wet !!!:rotfl2: I like being in water but only waist deep and not for too long !! Can't wait to hear about the rest of your tour and the drinks !!!

It seems like we talked about that issue of yours on a previous TR already... I am such a water person, as a kid I could spend hours in the water playing around, diving etc. So that felt really like heaven to me, but I can understand that people would have problems with it, just because it does feel unnatural at first.

Once we were back on board they started to distribute drinks (no alcohol before the snorkeling very sensible!). I first got some water, but then could not resist the margaritas. Those were not very strong, but you could tell that there was alcohol in them. Somehow margaritas are not so popular cocktails here in Germany it seems, but a few years ago I figured out that I really like them. But then I like everything citrus based. So for me that was a perfect offering!

We cruised along the coast line for a bit until we arrived at the beach. The tour company has their own private beach and they stop the catamaran at the beach, you walk down some steps and then you need to walk through the water towards the beach. The water was still pretty deep there, I would say nearly waist deep for me.

This is the view of the beach from the catamaran:

DSC00200.jpg

We found some beach chairs and dumped our stuff there. At the little huts they were selling souvenirs, giving out more drinks and you could buy burgers. These looked huge, but also were very pricey and we had no intention of getting one. They also had some very basic restrooms there. We used the facilities just when we got to the beach and they were clean. When we returned later they were not so nice anymore. All the wet and sandy people using them did not do them any good. And then it was a lot of people for a few restrooms&

Here is a view towards the huts from the beach:

We had a lovely view of the beach from our spot:

And of our catamaran parked in the distance:

DSC00197.jpg

In this picture you can se a bit of the toys they had in the water. There were a number of inflatable obstacles on the beach, some you could use as a water slide, a trampoline and some that were just for climbing. I thought they were really ugly. I had also seen pictures of these on the Disney website for this excursion and that was the one thing that made me hesitant about booking it. It was so much the opposite of what I want my tropical beach to be like. It turned out to be much les intrusive than I would have thought. We were at the far end of the beach area and did not have to look at them all the time. I could ignore them quite well.

We spent quite some time in the water which was just so wonderful. We did see some fish here as well. I also started to chat with another lady about how wonderful cruising was. I asked her whether she liked the shows on the ship and she said that they had not seen any shows yet. I thought that this was a bit odd considering that this is one of the main selling points of DCL their great entertainment! But then she started to talk about that tonight would be some tropical something and I got all confused and she went on talking about other things that were not at all familiar. Then it dawned on me that she was from the other catamaran that must have brought people from the Carnival Dream. She was not a Disney cruiser!! The snob I am, I immediately dropped my new friend much to Michaels amusement...

We kept reapplying our SPF 50 sun screen all day, but towards the end of time at the beach we noticed both that our shoulders had gotten a tiny bit of pink. It was definitely time to get out of the sun! While I was very sad to leave that wonderful beach with the never-ending supply of margaritas, getting into the shade was the sensible thing to do, so when they called us back to the catamaran, we got a seat under cover. This was our view:

DSC00205.jpg

I also have a picture of people climbing back onto the boat to give you an idea how that worked:

DSC00203.jpg

I was a bit sad to leave this wonderful spot here is a last view back:

DSC00204.jpg

The trip back took quite some time and once again they came around with their little plastic cups with drinks and those margaritas were even tastier now than earlier! To be honest, I was quite good and had more water than margaritas& But these tiny cups did add up&

They tried to get people to dance on the deck:

DSC00212.jpg

It was really nice sitting on the boat with the wind, having party music playing, having a drink and enjoying the beautiful day. Once we got closer to the harbor, I got up and started taking some pictures. First of the Carnival Dream:

DSC00208.jpg

Then we spotted a sea turtle swimming in the water:

DSC00209.jpg

And then we came closer to our beautiful ship:

DSC00216.jpg

DSC00224.jpg

This last picture is my current Iphone background picture. Makes me happy every day when I see it!

And then they dropped us off again at the pier where we had started. There was no question that Michael and I needed to do one thing first before anything else: Take a shower! We felt like we had layers over layers of sunscreen, salt water and sand on top of each other and that crust needed to be washed away!

We were still so amazed at how clear the water was directly in the port even and I took this picture of the water and the boat to demonstrate how beautiful the water was:

DSC00233.jpg

Originally we were supposed to be back at the ship by 1:15 pm, but when we were standing in a line to get back on board we realized that it was already 2:45pm. We had gotten an additional 1.5 hours and we had enjoyed every minute of that. So we truly felt like we did have a good value with our excursion. While standing there waiting to get checked back in (same procedure as when you leave the ship) we decided that we would just head back to the room and order room service and hopefully would have time to both get cleaned up while we were waiting for it to be delivered.

So once we were welcomed with some ice cold wash clothes (very nice and refreshing), had sanitized our hands and shown our KTTW cards, we headed straight to the stateroom to read the room service menu. I got a caesar salad and a chicken fajita (without the red onions) that was being served with salsa and guacamole. Michael ordered a BLT sandwich and a vegetable pizza. The said it would take about 30 to 40 minutes for our order to arrive. Great! That gave us time to wash off all the sunscreen, salt water and sand. It was so nice to be clean again!!

And then we were both clean and about 35 minutes had passed so we were excitingly waiting for our food! And then we waited some more and even more. We were both getting really hungry, it was getting close to 4pm now and we only had that small breakfast that day oh and a few margaritas. Unfortunately those drinks while containing calories did not reduce our want for food in any way. The only good thing was that we had started to watch Cars 2 which Michael had not seen in the cinema, so we were at least a little bit entertained.

Finally, after one hour (!) the food arrived!

DSC00477.jpg

I really liked the chicken fajita, it was even a bit spicy. The salad was very basic and it did not come tossed. I wonder whether I would have been able to request it to be pre-tossed as I hate it when I have to apply the dressing myself. That was one thing on the cruise that I did not like all the salads I had were served without the dressing which was then poured over at the table. I think this always leads to a too uneven distribution of the dressing.

Michael said that the BLT was ok and he did not like the pizza, I think I ended up eating more of it than him.

It was a nice and relaxed lunch while we enjoyed Cars 2.

After we were finished Michael wanted to continue watching the film until its end, but I was ready to explore a bit more! Originally our plan had been to head back into Cozumel to walk around a little bit, but with the excursion taking longer than expected and then the food delay, it was after 4pm and we did not feel like heading out in the heat again (this was the hottest day of the cruise).

Instead I took a picture of the view of Cozumel form our port hole:

Next: Looking Out

You cruise line snob you! Ditching the Carnival passenger :lmao: that is so funny.

The entire excursion really sounds lovely but I am glad you were able to find a spot where you didn't have to look at the tacky beach bouncy things. The margaritas sound lovely, I could go for one of those tonight that's for sure. Bummer that the room service meal wasn't better all around, I did find their breakfast to be pretty lacking but if we stuck to the fruit and cheese plate for a snack, and mickey bars...it was fabulous!

What a lovely lovely day.

I'm not su sure about the snorkeling, but the beach looks heavenly! Except for these toys, so glad you could avoid them.

The food doesn't look too convincing, except for the sandwich. What's the litte round thing on the tray with a picture of the ship? I like it that you get cloth napkins :thumbsup2

Great Update !!The Beach looks heavenly !!!That Pizza didn't look to great!! Only thing I ever ordered from Room Service was Coffee !!!

:cool2:

To be honest, I kind of like the look of the Carnival ships. Their fishtail chimney is kind of cute.

I don't understand the bouncy things - to me they don't add anything. But I was happy that neither did they subtract so much that I felt I had a lesser experience. I guess it is just a sign of our times that nature as it is is no longer entertaining enough... But then as a kid I thought nothing was more exciting than swimming out to that wooden platform in the middle of the lake and jump into the water from it. Those are just the modern version.

I think room service is more good for convenience than for being delicious. I would have loved to try the cheese platter, but we never got around to that. 5 night cruises are far too short to do everything. That's why I need another cruise!

What a lovely lovely day.

Indeed, I just wish I could have days like that more often! :goodvibes

I'm not su sure about the snorkeling, but the beach looks heavenly! Except for these toys, so glad you could avoid them.

I am sure you would learn the snorkeling. The snorkel mask actually covers your nose as well, and since the water does not touch a large part of your face, I am sure you would be able to learn to keep your eyes open! Maybe you should try to buy a mask and practice at the Stechlin this summer in preparation of the cruises your DH is already planning!!! ;-)

The food doesn't look too convincing, except for the sandwich. What's the litte round thing on the tray with a picture of the ship? I like it that you get cloth napkins :thumbsup2

The fajita was actually very nice! And I thought the sandwich looked good, too, but then what is there to do wrong with a blt?

The little round think was a little bowl with the dressing for my salad. It had a paper cover with the ship on it. I tried to bring it home, but you could not make it flat without destroying it.

And I liked the cloth napkins, too! :thumbsup2 You get your cutlery in them, and it is the same system at the buffet. I really liked that.

Great Update !!The Beach looks heavenly !!!That Pizza didn't look to great!! Only thing I ever ordered from Room Service was Coffee !!!

I guess it is Disney and pizza - so with some experience you expect them to not be great.

The beach was truly wonderful!

So, I headed up to the Outlook Café, leaving Michael in the room to finish watching Cars 2. I had seen that they serve snacks at the Outlook Cafe – they start with pastries in the morning, then in the afternoon it is cakes and later on it is antipasti. So I thought some coffee and cake would be perfect now!

First some pictures from the top decks of Cozumel:

DSC00474.jpg

DSC00475.jpg

I used this visit to the Outlook Café to take a few more pictures as I liked the space so much:

DSC00497.jpg

I finally settled down at a table and got two small slices of cake:

DSC00485.jpg

DSC00487.jpg

They were more bite sized, not large at all. But that was just the perfect little treat for me.

One I finished my treat I started to have a closer look at my plate. Close to where I grew up is a manufacturer of hotel tableware with a very long standing reputation, called Bauscher. They still exist today and supply many restaurants and hotels with tableware. So it became more or less tradition in our family to check the plates wherever we were eating to see where they were made. So I turned the plate in the Outlook Café around. It was not made by Bauscher, but I found this nice little guy there:

DSC00489.jpg

I guess one could say that they come with two hidden Mickeys – one on each side of the plate.

I also ordered some iced coffee, which arrived after I had finished my cake.

DSC00493.jpg

This time my server explained that he served it in the paper cup as these were larger than the glasses, and so I got more coffee for my money. I thought that that was a nice thought – I still would have preferred the glass.

I sat there, worked on my trip notes (it does take quite some time to take useful notes of everything, but it is wonderful to have these notes as an aid to the memory) and read a bit.

After some time Michael appeared after he had finished watching Cars 2 and we just sat there and chatted and enjoyed the view over Cozumel. The Outlook Cafe was surprisingly empty still, but that was just perfect. Michael had also brought along the quote I got for a new cruise. Since Disney offers nice discounts for cruises rebooked while on board (10 % off cruise fare and depending on length of cruise 100 or 200 $ on board credit), I already knew before that I would want to get a reservation. I had picked out a cruise next year that I thought might be possible, even though I was also thinking of maybe moving this booking into 2015. So instead of speaking with the CM at the rebooking desk in person, I just filled out a request form. This afternoon it was delivered back to our room with a quote. I just had to sign this form. Which I did and dropped it off at the cruise desk.

At some point it was time for our show. I do have this one picture of the Walt Disney Theater and just could not come up with when I had taken this as it was between by excursion pictures. But now I realised that it is from this morning when we waited for our excursion in there. But I think it fits in here as well!

DSC00150.jpg

Tonight they were showing Toy Story - the Musical. We found some good seats and were welcomed to the theatre by Jimmy our cruise director. He went through his usual spiel that hopefully everyone had a great day in Cozumel. And while he was doing that there was sudden vibration going through the theatre and Jimmy excitedly told us that this was the captain starting the engines and now we were off to the next stop Castaway Cay. That announcement was met with huge cheers! It was all a bit cheesy, but also fun. My trip notes say that the enthusiasm seemed a bit forced, but then people were always so friendly all the time that it did fit in and seemed much more natural than it would have been in another setting.

It also reminded me of a documentary I had seen about DCL where they said how Disney invented Castaway Cay as a unique selling point for their cruises and that there was a strategy behind this always being the last stop on your cruise. They want people to see it as the highlight and as something people want to return to DCL for. The whole way of generating excitement for Castaway Cay did fit in with that strategy very well.

Toy Story - the Musical was ... Let's say interesting. It lacked something a musical needs: engaging music. It was a technically very well done show and the actor portraying Woody was excellent. But that's about it. If I will be on a ship with this show again, I will enjoy other things while this is showing. If you have never seen it, I would still recommend it though. Your taste might be different from mine and it was not really bad, just a bit flat.

Next: Arrr!!!

I felt Toy Story fell flat too, it was our least favorite of the shows.

We spent a lot of time on Outlook on our Alaska cruise and kind of missed it on the Dream. I too would much rather have my drink in a glass versus paper even if that made it smaller.

What did you rebook for?

Yay for another cruise !!! The Café looked very relaxing !!! We enjoyed all the shows on the Dream I think my fav was BELIEVE!!!.We always stopped at Preludes for Pop and popcorn !!! I was surprised that it was quite reasonable !!!

Yes, it does not get good reviews in general here on the DIS. But it seemed to be very popular with the audience.

They don't have a similar space on the Dream? How odd. But then they have Meridian on the new ships - which looks like a fabulous place to me! I guess you can't have it all!

What did you rebook for?

At that time for a 7-night Eastern Caribbean on the Fantasy in January 2014. It has since been moved to another place holder cruise. And I can imagine it will finally be moved to something in 2015 - most likely Alaska, but who knows, if they come up with other good itineraries I might be tempted by them.

See, we just walked past Preludes without even looking at the offerings. Maybe I need to treat myself to something on my next cruise... :goodvibes

The cans of Pop were $1.75 and the bag of popcorn a little over $2 , plus they gave us 10 cups to split up the popcorn. They were soooo nice and helpful!!!:goodvibes

When we got out of the show, pirates had already capered the ship! We saw some chipmunk pirates down in the atrium.

DSC00501-Arbeitskopie2.jpg

We did some more shopping, I bought some postcards (which I failed to mail), a Wonder pin and a book about Disneyland. The book was for some reason not in their system and they had to write a paper receipt for it, they could not just ring it up, I guess because they needed to have the correct item for the onboard account.

We dropped off our shopping in the room and got dressed for dinner. The room was already made up for the night, but had no navigators in it. We had chocolate coins instead of the usual chocolates with Sleepy from Snow White.

DSC00502.jpg

Michael had also requested more shampoo in the afternoon. We were running low on the bottle and Michael really loves the shampoo and would have loved to take some home with him. But since we had not seen hour stateroom host, he actually went to guest services to request it. We did get a set of shampoo, conditioner and body lotion brought by someone, but Michael had also hoped that if our stateroom host sees that all the bottles had disappeared, we would get even more new stuff. But no, no additional bottles had been supplied by our stateroom host. Michael was very disappointed!

We thought that their new policy might be to be very stingy with the soap. But I have since read a thread on the DIS where people talk about how they got many bottles from their stateroom host and the thread that complains about people hoarding the shampoo& ;-) So it does not seem like there is any consistency in the soap generosity on the ship&

We then went for a walk around the decks before dinner and took some pictures in the evening light:

DSC00503-Arbeitskopie2.jpg

DSC00508.jpg

DSC00515.jpg

And then we headed to our dinner. We were in Animators Palette, where we were supposed to eat yesterday when we went to Palo instead. So we missed the show there. It was not a huge deal to me, I would have missed something anyway by eating at Palo.

There was a small pirate bandana on our places at the table:

DSC00520.jpg

Which our server promptly tied around our heads and we started to find something to eat on the menu.

DSC00524.jpg

Surprisingly we werent really very hungry after that late lunch. Which did not prevent us from ordering a full meal though&

We started with the usual bread basket. It is nice that every night they have some kind of specialty bread. Tonight it was something similar to corn bread, it was very nice.

DSC00525.jpg

DSC00529.jpg

This was served not with a spread, but with a bean salad:

DSC00528.jpg

I did not really like it, so Michael started eating it and since it was just a very small portion, he quickly finished it. And then suddenly within a few minutes we got a second serving of it placed on our table. It seemed like our server thought that we really loved it because it was gone so quickly&

I think we both started with pot stickers. At least I have only one picture of this course and my notes are a bit ambiguous, so I think Michael and I had the same dish and thats why I did not take a photograph of his dish. So these are my pot stickers:

DSC00530.jpg

They were a bit dry and chewy. They tasted ok, but I would say one of the least impressive dishes that were served to us.

For our second course I got the watermelon soup:

DSC00536.jpg

This was refreshing and delicious. I absolutely loved the cold fruit soups they were serving on the ship! My mother always talked about a dish which in German was called Kaltschale which translates into cold bowl and she was always talking about making it for a hot summer day. Somehow she never did, but from what I understand it was supposed to be a cold fruit soup. Not sure I would want to make a meal out of it, but for a second appetizer it is perfect!!

Michael went with a bibb lettuce salad:

DSC00534.jpg

It was a very large portion!

For our main course we had both ordered the bbq marinated beef short ribs.

DSC00538.jpg

However I had requested for the mashed potatoes to be exchanged for the sweet potatoes they were offering with another dish:

DSC00539.jpg

I took one bite of the sweet potato, it was good. Then I took one bite of the meat. It was so horrible!!! No thats incorrect, the beef was perfectly fine. I just hated the taste of it. I dont like braised beef (or cooked beef). I like my meat grilled, baked or pan fried. There is something in the braising process that brings out different flavours that just dont work for me. And that was the case here. Oh, and the menu did not mention that they were braised. Michael really liked his dish though!!

So after I curled up my nose at the first bite and had trouble chewing it, Michael noticed how unhappy I was with my choice and told me to just get something else. At first I said I would be happy to just eat the sweet potatoes, but he insisted and then tried to get out waiters attention. This did take a little while, but once we had told our server, everyone sprang into action, and I asked for the chicken breast. My plate was quickly brought away and I had not to wait long at all until the chicken breast appeared:

DSC00541.jpg

This was a nice dish and it came with fried okra. So far any experience with okra for me was not a good one. I just did not get the point of this vegetable. Those fried okras though were really nice! But I guess that just confirms the rule that every thing tastes better deep fried!

Very shortly after I had told our server about the beef problem our head server was at our table concerned that there was something wrong with the beef. I told him that the beef was fine, it was just a question of taste. He was very nice about it and I was impressed that as soon as he was aware of a problem we got his attention.

I really liked out head server he was from Croatia as well. We did chat with him a bit that evening and he told us that he used to work on river cruise ships and had cruised past Nuremberg regularly then. He said that he had worked for DCL now for one and a half years and said very positive things about working for Disney. On our last evening he also mentioned that he worked for Celebrity before the river cruises, and then took a job for a year with a ship that did a world cruise because he wanted to see more different places.

When he came to chat with us, he was telling us about our options for breakfast and lunch the next day and we told him that we already had chosen an option that would easily cover breakfast and lunch for us: Palo brunch. His comment to that was: Oh, so you are going to eat with the other Croatians!

He also made a very good looking pirate:

DSC00547.jpg

Just when I was finally eating my main course they started a short pirate celebration in the dining room. It was fun too watch, mainly it was the servers parading around the room.

And then it was time to order some dessert:

DSC00545.jpg

Michael got the fruit cobbler with vanilla ice cream:

DSC00548.jpg

And I went for a sugar free option not because it was sugar free, but because I had wanted to try this dish for ages. I think it has such an interesting name: angel food cake.

DSC00549.jpg

Here it was served with strawberries. It was nice, but I think I need to try a non-sugar-free version at some point to really appreciate this dish. I think over all Michael was happier with his dessert.

With dessert finished we finally left the dining room. We were among the last to go. And tonight we had places to go to!! There was a Pirate Party happening on deck and there would be fireworks!

I was very excited about this and was really looking forward to it at the same time I tried to keep my expectations about the fireworks in check, after all we were on a ship, I really could not expect something like Illuminations.

And then we stepped out on deck 10 and walked towards midship. I could here music playing, which to my surprise was neither Disney nor Pirate music. Just your normal hits. It turned out to be nothing else than a cheesy dance party with characters in costume. This really was not my idea of a PIRATE Party at all!!! I thought it was really horrible. However, I wanted to see the fireworks. So we found a spot along the railing and waited. I must admit that towards the very end there is a pretty cool think happening in that horrible party&

We also chatted with a mother who was waiting for the fireworks with two kids, I think around 5 years old. This was her first cruise, and she did not enjoy it at all it seemed. She was rather exhausted from the long day in Cozumel and said that she thought the cruise was not good for her kids at all as there was far too much excitement. The kids would not fall asleep at night (they were horribly tired waiting for the fireworks, but neither did they want to go to bed, they were very set on seeing the fireworks), but then they were still up at 6am. She was not saying that the cruise was bad just that it was not a good fit for her and her family at the moment. She said that she could imagine coming back to try a cruise again in a few years. I found that interesting as sometimes really something that you think is a perfect fit like DCL and kids does not work out. But I am very happy that DCL and I did fit together so perfectly!!!

And then it was finally time for the fireworks. We had picked the right side of the ship, so we could see them on our side directly over the water. And I must say that they by far exceeded my expectations. For it being on a cruise ship, it was a really nice show!

After the fireworks Michael and I walked to the Buena Vista Theater i.e. the ships cinema. He wanted to see Oz. Weill, I would not have minded to see it either, but an 11:30pm start time did not appeal to me at all. So we walked there together, and I did get a look at the cinema from the inside and then disappeared.

I walked around the ship for a bit, looked into the bars which were deserted. There was not a single person in them!! I felt really guilty towards the CMs to not stay either.

Back in the room I realized that I had totally forgotten to make use of todays DVC gift. That was a bracelet which would light up. Michael and I had intended to use it during the party, but forgot all about it. Well, maybe next cruise!

I watched Cinderella for a few minutes on our TV, but then was so tired that I had to give up on that.

All caught up! Way too much for me to comment on, but it looks like you and Michael were really making the most of your cruise. The beach in Cozumel looked like a very worthy excursion!

All caught up. Chip and Dale are adorable in those pirate costumes. That's interesting about the braised beef (or meat) I guess I never really thought about ribs being made that way unless it was called out specifically, it's pretty common for short ribs I know.

I think I had that same chicken and rather liked it!

I agree with you on the dance party but then again we aren't a fan of them in general but..worth watching for the end on a cruise to be sure. Very glad you liked the fireworks but oh I don't think I could have made an 11:30 movie start either! If I recall on our cruise, Jeff and Evan went to a showing after the pirate party and Eric and I went to bed!

Welcome back Mark!! Good to see you again - but I am sorry that your trip is over. I hope you had a fabulous time on Hawaii and will be waiting patiently for a TR! :goodvibes

I think we really did quite well with packing lots of activities into our cruise - without ever feeling overscheduled. And there were plenty of things I would have liked to do as well - I guess a good enogh reason to take another cruise!

I guess there are not many people who only like their meat prepared a certain way. It is a bit of a peculiar thing... :goodvibes

The chicken was very good, I would certainly eat it again!

I would have loved to catch a movie at some point - but that is one of the activities that just did not fit into a short 5-night cruise.
