We head this Sunday and planned to Uber from the airport. Has anyone done this recently? and if so, what did it cost?

Thanks.

We didn’t Uber but we set transport through helehele/platinum and it was about $100 for 4 of us round trip. We thought it was pretty reasonable considering from the airport we were the only family/stop and returning to the airport it was just us and one other family from Aulani.

I have never used Charley's Taxi but I have seen them drop people off at the entrance and read about them here and on other forums
I know they offer a flat rate which looks like it might be $55 for the mini van shuttle (see link below)
https://charleystaxi.com/services/airport/I would check out reviews etc first but they are all over the island and I know they have a great reputation plus no surge pricing

We have used Charley's Taxi for transfers from HNL to Waikiki and back and were very happy with them. Would not hesitate to use them again.

We used Charley's two weeks ago from HNL to Aulani. I liked that I could book it ahead of time and that there was a flat fee. They even send you a text telling you where they are parked at the airport- was really easy to find.

The next day we took an Uber from Aulani to an Enterprise location next to HNL and that cost $41 (plus tip) so the Uber was a little bit cheaper. Ubers were easy and quick to get the past few weeks.

Ride share is expensive on Oahu, especially to and from Aulani. I highly recommend renting a car if you plan on leaving your hotel at all. Otherwise, there are some companies that have a shuttle, Hele Hele is discussed a lot. You can go to the app and look at the prices without booking a trip if you want to get an idea of costs.

Thanks for the info, but we are meeting our son's family, maybe, so I can't really pre-book anything. I just wondered what to expect with Uber. Using at SFO recently the price ranged from $90 to $54 which we accepted. But the first two offers were very high. I knew what was normal, so I declined until I got a price that was reasonable. So I was hoping to get a ballpark to know when to accept the ride.

So for fun, I just did a quick check on the Lyft app. 2:30 Hawaii time from the airport to Aulani. Regular lyft is $78, Lux is $110.00, XL is $118.00. The issue with Aulani is that it is a 45 minute drive from the Waikiki area, which is where a lot of people live. They have more then enough business in that area without them having to drive all the way out to Aulani. To and from the airport might be easier to secure, but if you plan on going across the Island to tour, you are going to struggle. People have posted being "stuck" after dinner on the other side of the Island not being able to get a return trip. I highly recommend that your group get a car for your trip. Have fun, it is so beautiful there.

The size of your party will determine your cost. On a Sunday with no traffic, the cost could range from $40 for just two people with minimal luggage up to $100+ for 5 people.

I used to live in Honolulu & recently returned to the mainland. I had a driver I used regularly for airport drop-offs/pick-ups for work or family travel, probably 10 years or more. He works for Charley’s, always had great service & lots of good local stories/history. Never had a problem with Charley’s.

Reviews for helehele are not very good either on facebook or on Yelp. Most complaints are about the wait between the time they arrive at the airport and time they are picked up by the shuttle. I was wondering if I could just use it for the return trip.
