I agree! I can start doing some reseach, if you'd like.

Darlene, those photos are fabulous! I have to admit all of the photos of Trent with his family made me tear up. And, I love the pics of your new friends, like Wigd, it really helped me put faces with names!

So, I was thinking about "Meet Me in St. Louis". Since so many of us are traveling from out of town, I wonder if we could end up booking enough rooms in a hotel to get a group rate? Once we pick a weekend, we should do a head count... I love deals whenever I can score them!

Hello! Glad you like the pictures. I had fun at the table with the girls...they were so funny. Let me just say it was not a dull meal. They were both very sweet. I do wish we had more time to get to know each other. Hey, you know what that means...we just have to do it again. :thumbsup2 Yeah! For another dismeet.

Oh, I can believe it that there was not a dull moment at that table!! :lmao:

This picture cracks me up! Everytime I heard a giggle coming from over there I immediately would look over! :rotfl2:

It is indeed free! You just have to pay for parking. I got to spend a very short amount of time there in July (silly baseball game interferred with my zoo time  ), but what I did see was very nice!

The Atlanta meet looked like so much fun, so many great pictures MeMom & Darlene! I am totally going to make some of those chocolate dipped Mickey cookies - yum!

Reelmom you truly had a blessed day yesterday, you must be proud. It was great meeting your family at the cupcake meet.

I love all the pictures, they are filled with good memories of great times with great Disers.:goodvibes

Loving all the meet pictures! I saw some on FB, but it's great to see them again and with captions! :goodvibes

Look at her little face all lit up at the sight of him! So, so sweet.

A few minutes later Hrlbaby and her beautiful family joined us. Let me just say, she looks terrific after just having a baby 6 weeks ago. :thumbsup2

I agree!!!!!! You look fantastic!

Trent was talking about being out and about in one of the parks at WDW and he will hear his name. He said he feels famous because of his mom's TRs and the DIS.:rotfl2: That is kinda crazy!

Oh wow! That is SO FUNNY! :rotfl: We are going to start seeing pictures of DISers with him like we pose with Bo, aren't we?!

LOVE IT. What a great meet!

Stinkin' cute.

I wanted to share some pictures from today. Ethan and Evan were baptized this morning. Ethan became a Christian about a year ago but for some reason, we never had him baptized. Evan accepted the Lord during VBS this summer. We were so proud of them this morning. I may have to post several times because not sure if I know how to post more than one picture at a time. So please bear with me.

What an awesome day for your family!!!!!!! :yay:

Just a mass reply, as I have much, much, much school work to do. I am up to my ears in paperwork and testing, so instead of DISing my evening away, I'll be curled up with a calculator, a few grids, and a couple of sharp pencils.

The meet was great fun. We were so glad to meet all the people we had not met before. The way the tables were sort of spread around, different small groups talked while eating, but much intermingling was done between all before we ate, while decorating cupcakes, and then at the Disney Store. We are very happy that weekend happened, and we were thrilled to get to spend time with Trent again so soon. Five more weeks and we will be together again. If we could do a once every 4-6 weeks thing, I think we'd all be okay, but I know it won't be able to be like that often. After the October Disney trip, it might be Christmas before we get together again.

As for St. Louis, I guess let's throw out some dates and see what grows. I'd love to see the Arch, but there is no way I can go up in it. I'll take pictures from the ground. :)

My guess is that we would drive up on Friday evening after school go to the zoo on Saturday and then to a mall in the evening. Is the Arch open on Sunday? Jill might like to go up. We could do that Sunday morning and then head home.

reelmom, I was so impressed with your good boys. They were so well-mannered. Thank you for sharing such a special event in your/their lives with us. You are an awesome mom! I hope we didn't scare your husband too much. :)

I can't begin to tell you all how excited I was to see pictures of me plastered all over the place. :upsidedow
Can someone please tell cherokeemomma the rule about 'the floating head'???
The beached whale look, I can pass on.
She was off to have a pool party for her son that evening. I think they got a little swim time in before it rained. Heather and family had a family reunion, and Jackie and her bunch went to a wedding reception. Not sure what plans were for the others, but we sure do appreciate all of you taking time and trouble to come and visit.

Have a good evening, all. I am off to wolf down a taco and then spread these papers out all over my bed. I will prop some pillows up and at least be comfortable while I work.

Have fun with your calculator, pencils, and grids, next month you will be having fun at Disney.

Thanks once again for organizing the cupcake meet. It was great visiting with every one.

Awwww, thanks girl!! :goodvibes

Um, well...I didn't make it to the reunion! :guilty: It was my grandmother who called while we were in the Disney store asking where I was because apparently I was supposed to bring the hot dogs for the kids!! But, everyone relax...my dad went to the grocery store and bought some since I wasn't there! lol!! They started without me and my mom said she tried to stall them but it didn't work. Oh well!! We actually almost turned around to come back to the mall!! :goodvibes

The Arch is open everyday except Thanksgiving & Christmas, I believe. Since we were just there I have all this St. Louis touristy info stuck in my head  I didn't go up in it, we had friends that did and they told me that the shuttles were pretty cramped. I have a tendency to get claustrophobic so I just looked at it from the ground too :thumbsup2 The lines get pretty long pretty quickly, so if Jill wants to go up I'd suggest getting there right at opening or a little before.

Golly, I have no idea.:confused3 I'm bad with directions and stuff and have no idea what's between you and me. Off the top of my head I would think somewhere in North Carolina???
Are there enough people out this way to make a meet worthwhile?? It might be too far for all of us. I'd love to be able to work something out at some point though since it looks like our summer plans won't match up this year. We didn't get to spend nearly enough time together thanks to late boats, rain, and dinner!!!

I think North Carolina would be a great place for a meet! :goodvibes

I agree! :goodvibes:cutie:

Bella after eating a cookie...I really think she was going for the sprinkles and the chocolate got in her way.

I love Bella's outfit. In July I saw a bag and wallet with that madras print on it. In Sept I got the bag-- they no longer had the wallet. :sad2:

Wonderful pics of such a fun looking meet! I especially like the one of Bella close up. looks like a fun time was had my all!!! I am someday hoping for a more west meet! We could all do DL!!!

MeMom, I would love to see the Arch but not go up in it...
That's just way too high.
I'm pretty sure Marc and I will take a "sick  day" on Friday and leave early in the morning for St. Louis.

So the plans sound just fine!

Katie, I think finding a block of rooms would be great if that works for the others, especially if we could get a discount.

Ugh, having to bring schoolwork home is never fun! Tomorrow night is middle school conference night, so I have a 12-hour work day to look forward to. Ick.

I got a lot a done, so I am caught up. Progress reports go out this week, so that made getting grades averaged a priority. They are going to be installing a Gradespeed program soon that will average for us as we go along, so that will be nice. Right now, we just do it the old-fashioned way.

We'll do an Atlanta meet again sometime. :)

Awwww, thanks girl!! :goodvibes

We only went to the Disney Store, and then we left to go back to the hotel so the girls could swim.

I'm guessing that's what we would do - see it right after breakfast Sunday morning and then head home. When Jill and I go anywhere, upon return one or the other of us still has another two hour drive home that we have to factor in. For the Atlanta trip, I had to drive the extra two; for the St. Louis trip, she would be adding another two.

What other touristy things are there that you would recommend?

I agree! :goodvibes:cutie:

They also had a hat in that print. They'll let that print sell out and then come in with something new that will just as cute, I'm sure.

We'd love to go to Disneyland sometime. Jill and the girls may get that chance this winter if John does some work-related project out there.

Maybe someone who is familiar with the area knows a safe, family-friendly area.

I pity you. I hate those days.

Hi memom and Jill

I have finally caught up on your report - life has got in the way for awhile. The 2 week small hernia operation back in May and 6 weeks off work turned into major abdo surgery with complications and nearly 3 months off work and a few trips in and out of the hospital.

Will spare the gory details but I was told I could not go on the trip about 2 months ago - which was devastating as we had been planning for nearly 3 years, the rest of the family couldnt cancel and it was so close!!! So I stopped checking the boards and went into hibernation so to speak as was too upset at the time.

But I have great faith that things happen for a reason (must admit couldnt figure that reason out at the time!) and that faith was answered as I got final medical clearance to go just 3 weeks ago!!! So it was lucky I didnt cancel anything - must have known eh?

So as you can imagine - from then it was panic stations getting everything sorted and back to work etc and I cant believe this time next week we will finally be in your lovely country at your favourite place:banana::banana:

loved all the photos from your meet and have to mention the video of Brooklyn on the teacups (was awhile back) but I am in a wheelchair and never been able to get on the teacups - that was the best video I have ever seen and I felt like I was on them and now I have an idea of what it is like, so thanks for that.

Sorry didnt mean to write a book. Hope to log in while I am away and keep up with your adventures. You will be going before I get back as after our 2 weeks at WDW we take another 2 weeks to drive up to New York staying at some places along the way.

Hi Memom and Jill,
So glad you made it home safe and sound. I really hate we didn't get to meet Jarvis. But it sounds like you were able to relax some and enjoy being together. Your family is so very nice. I felt like I already knew them. :goodvibes

My son's bday party turned out to be so much fun. About 45 minutes before it was suppose to start the rain came, it was coming down in buckets and then it started thundering. I knew we had to change plans. Parents would not want their kids anywhere near a pool. We wound up moving it indoors. It was crazy for a while trying to contact everyone and let them know the changed plans. The kids just hung out and listened to LOUD music and then played spoons, and even danced a little. We had about 45 min. without rain and my DH and another friend grilled so we were able to feed all those starving teenagers. I think kids just like to be together. It really doesn't matter what they are doing. I was so worried about it but in the end they all seemed to have a great time. A couple of them told me "that was the best party ever!" Who knew...:rotfl:

I wanted to ask you Sat about your trip last year around NYE. But I never got around to it. :confused3 We are planning on staying off property for 12/30 & 31. We really want to see all of the resort decorations so we thought we would resort hop and then check in to our resort on 1/1 and make that our first day in the park. I was wondering how crazy is it getting around during that time frame. Are the resorts crazy busy with tons of people too? I am assuming it will be very busy; we have never been during a '10' crowd level. Should we use Disney transportation or our own vehicle? What are your thoughts on DTD during that time? Would you go there?

BTW...I will call us even in the picture posting dept. ;)

It is feeling like fall here this morning! :thumbsup2 Hope everyone has a great day!

My in-laws recently visited St. Louis and did the arch. The shuttles are TEEEEEEEEEEEEENY! The door looks like it was about 3 feet high. They said it was awesome from the top, but the ride up and back down is a bit unnerving, even for those that don't mind cramped spaces or heights. :scared1: I can grab a picture of my DSIL's Facebook, but seriously - this is MeMom's report, I will spare her!

Brook, you crack me up. I have a picture of that shuttle thing, too, but I figure if we post t hem Memom will ban us from this report:rotfl2:

I'm not really scared of those things, and I wouldn't get in it last year.

Memom - I loved all the pictures from the meet. Looks like a great time!

group room rates sound great!

I haven't been to St. Louis to do touristy things since I was in high school but there are lots of things to dothere. The zoo and the Science Center (among other things) are both in Forest Park and both free! I also remember the Missouri Botanical Gardens are very neat and picturesque and not too expensive. I've never been to City Museum, but my friends from that area all thought it was great.
