We'll be staying at the Polynesian Resort for a few nights before our next cruise out of PC in August and trying to budget ahead for additional costs. We won't have a car so are deciding between a Lyft or the DCL bus to get to port. We've never taken the bus from WDW property (only from MCO) but have always heard they arrive fairly late in the day and I like to board as early as possible. Is that still true? At the same time, I'm worried about the price for a Lyft since it can vary so widely based on demand, etc. at the time you order one. Please share recent experiences and suggestions to help us decide! Thank you!

I have heard that the DCL buses have been picking up and arriving early recently, so that is our inclination.. but I'm curious for other responses as we are still weighing our options.

Pre-covid: We have always taken the DCL from the resort. I hear they leave earlier now than before, but we have never had a problem, we are not in a rush and has been a pleasant experience

We have used Tiffany Town Car from Resort to PC and back to the airport or Resort as the case may be.

We were going to use Lyft but recently decided to use the bus. We like the idea of getting to the port early. It will be our first cruise and it should give us plenty of time get used to things. Obviously we likely won't be able to get on the boat but still. Also don't have to plan around PATs.

We have used a town car service (Tiffany, Happy Limo, or others) several times to go from Walt Disney World to Port Canaveral. I don't know how the cost compares to Uber or Lyft, but the cost and pick-up time are fixed at time of booking, so you don't need to worry about demand pricing.

For the June 11 Fantasy sailing, I was the last pick up at CSR at 9.15am however the bus was a bit early. We were at port by 10.15/10.20am. Boarding didn’t start until around 11.30 so there was about an hour of waiting in the terminal.

That’s too early for me and next time I’m probably doing something like Tiffany Towncar.

How many people in your group is the X-factor. DCL charges by person, while all other forms of transfer charge a flat fee based on how big of a vehicle. A family of 4 or 5 will certainly save money with a private transfer; a couple will probably save money with DCL.

I tried to book a car service from 2 or 3 places from MCO to PC for the end of July and it was almost twice as much as we paid in 2019...it was actually cheaper for me to do 2 one-way rentals.
