From Louisiana or Virginia?

Ok, so I've seen a lot of posts from people in other states and I have to post two! Since I'm from Louisiana and have only moved to Virginia since some terrible hurricane decided I needed to start all over! (But, I'm ok with that since it was fate, I met my DF in VA!) So, any of you Disney Brides, or mooners, from Louisiana or Virginia?

I'm not from Virginia, but I moved here about 2 years ago. My DF and I just bought a place in Alexandria. It sounds like you are on your way to a very happy ending, despite the terrible circumstances that landed you in VA. Good luck and hopefully we will hear from more VA Disney Brides!

I'm technically not from Louisiana, but my dh is. He is from St. Bernard Parish. My Mama and her family are also from St. Bernard Parish and my paternal grandmother and her family came from the Monroe area. So, although I'm an Alabama native, I have lots of roots in Louisiana and make lots of trips over there. I'm on the Alabama/Mississippi line (gulf coast) and just over an hour from the Slidell area.

We are from VA - the southwest side of the state. We are about 30 minutes from WV and 45 from TN. It is a small part of the state, but it is quiet and friendly....

I am so sorry about the terrible circumstances that landed you in this state, but I hope that you find oit a great place to make your home...

Hurricanes are poopy! Sorry that you guys had some damage!!

I am from Louisiana!! Lived here all my life! I'm actually in Calcasieu parish....about 45 minutes from the Gulf, and about 45 minutes next to the Texas line in Lake Charles. Where did you guys live in LA?

We got pretty hard hit by Hurricane Rita. I stayed through the storm as I am a Regsitered Nurse and was needed at the hospital. NEVER doing that again. That was definitely a ONCE in a lifetime experience for me!! Haha!

I'm from Louisiana! I love my state, mind you we have lots of issues but it's still my home. I've lived here all my life and I don't see myself leaving. I'm glad that in your trauma of relocation you found love. What a wonderful a turnout from such a bad experience.

Hi, I have been lurking for the past year, but I am getting married one month from tomorrow in Disney World. I just had to post when I saw VA mentioned. I am from Richmond, VA, and I went to school in Williamsburg. I live in Arizona now, but I do miss VA- in fact, I am going back home tomorrow, and I am very excited!

Wow, you must drive really fast! My dad lives in Biloxi and it normally takes him 45min to get to Slidell!

It's funny, My Grandparents are from St. Bernard Parish too! Pretty small world!

Wow, it is a small world!! I always joke with DH that it took him moving over here for us to meet but I wonder how many times we ran into each other over in St. Bernard and just never knew. My family is from Violet and he's from Yscloskey.

It really is a small world! I've lived in Slidell since 1993, but spent the 15 years before that in Violet! My husband has family members who are still there.

And, luvsmickey, your dad must have a pilot's license. LOL I am usually flying down the interstate at 80 and over and it takes me about an hour and 20 minutes to get through the state! Of course, since the storm, there are so many contractors in pickup trucks and vans from out of state it sometimes seems like it takes forever to get through.
