From Louisiana or Virginia?

As a child I lived in Metairie, and now for the pasy 12 years in Mandeville! we love love love mandeville, but now its so stinkin crowded since everyone moved there from Orleans parish and the west bank etc. so traffic is horendous! bbaahhh! yes...Katrina has turned our lived upside down!

We are from VA - the southwest side of the state. We are about 30 minutes from WV and 45 from TN. It is a small part of the state, but it is quiet and friendly....

I am so sorry about the terrible circumstances that landed you in this state, but I hope that you find oit a great place to make your home...

It really is a small world! I've lived in Slidell since 1993, but spent the 15 years before that in Violet! My husband has family members who are still there.

And, luvsmickey, your dad must have a pilot's license. LOL I am usually flying down the interstate at 80 and over and it takes me about an hour and 20 minutes to get through the state! Of course, since the storm, there are so many contractors in pickup trucks and vans from out of state it sometimes seems like it takes forever to get through.

You know with all of us living near each other, we could very easily have our own Disney Wedding/Honeymoon board meet!

I'm actually in Richmond, VA. I had some family in the area. My company that I work with actually let me choose where I wanted to go. I think it's beautiful here and it's really nice having all 4 seasons! In Louisiana we really only have 2 and the other 2 last for about 2 weeks! So, it's nice to see a beautiful fall and know that there will be snow! Although, I could do without all the seasonal allergies! Oh well, it's the price you have to pay I guess!
