what's the best transportation to get (on July 4) from:

spending day at DTD
to Poly for dinner/firework watching at Ohana's
then return to All-Star Sports

THANKS! :rotfl:

You will be able to take a bus directly from DTD to the Poly. From the Poly you can take the Monorail over to the MK where you can take a bus to ASSp. I'm pretty sure MK is open really late on July 4 since it is one of the busiest park days of the year.

My advice would be this:

From the All-Stars, take a bus to Downtown Disney.
From Downtown Disney, take the Contemporary/Polynesian bus to the Polynesian for dinner.

One thing to note... I don't know what time your PS for dinner is, and how it corresponds to the fireworks show for that night, but if you're having dinner while the fireworks are going off, that's great. If you're planning on watching the fireworks from the Polynesian beach, I will forewarn you that security will be patrolling the beach. During super busy times, they will be keeping it for the sole use of Polynesian resort guests. If such is the case, my suggestion is to walk over to the TTC, and watch the fireworks from the Ferryboat dock area. The view is excellent, and they pipe in the music. It's a great place.

Now... to get back to All-Star Sports. I would not recommend going back to the Magic Kingdom to catch the bus. Why? It will be JAM PACKED over there. 10x more than usual. My advice would be this... if you're at the Polynesian, head over to the Bell Stand, and have a Bellman call you a taxi. If you're at the TTC, head over to the Taxi stand (just beyond the parking trams, underneath the resort and express monorail beams). A taxi to the All-Stars should be $15 or less, plus tips. (I'm just guessing) It will save you a lot of hassle, and be well worth it.

Everyone, thank you for your great info!

chip 'n dale express - thanks for the idea of the taxi. I defintely think that on that particular night, it will be worth it. Are they're taxis (van?) that can carry 7 people? We will have our 5 kids with us.

The Checker Cabs (the official cab of Disney, operated by Mears) do have vans available at no extra charge. They can handle 7 people, but it will be a squeeze. (Less of a squeeze than the bus you'd be on!)

One idea I do have, that might be of a help... if you want, before you head to dinner, go down to Bell Services (just below O'Hanas in the Porte Cochere) and have them call and reserve a taxi van for you. Although there are always taxis out front, some times they are only sedans, and you'd have to wait for a van. If you call ahead of time, and reserve one for a specific time, they can make sure there will be a van there. (They can also take requests for car seats, if needed)

Chip 'n Dale Express 0 thanks for the great info! I feel much better about my transportation issue on what I expect to be a very busy evening! THANKS!
