First, we are a family of 4, and my DH is a vegetarian, kids can be picky, and DS has CP, so some places are hard for him. We did our 180 day thing and made some good choices.
Friday: WPE for a Quick Service meal and it was so good we ate there 2 more times. The best value for quick service, you can eat inside or out, and the service good most of the time (one cashier was a bit confused and wanted me to order for our whole family, and not just who was there, which was weird).
Saturday: Garden Grill : Food was good and service very nice, not rushed at all. We were seated in the top half, so the views of roofs and trees was not the best, but we finished in exactly one revolution, so that was nice. Characters were very patient with DS, big smiles from kids meeting Chip and Dale and DS saying "You are so funny". DH had the veggie option, and the salad was very good. Portions small, but they bring out whatever you want more off in whatever way you want it (Example: turkey no gravy, large bowl of macaroni and cheese). Desserts were a bug cupcake for the kids that was Red Velvet and they thought too rich, cobbler for adults was mostly crust.
Monday : Tusker House Character lunch: LOVED IT!! We ate their a few years ago for breakfast, but lunch was really good. Carving station, roasted chicken that my DD loved, lots of choices, good veggie options, and not rushed at all. Very nice, and characters around a lot. We did have a bit of wait for our table, put on our must do list again.
Tuesday : Flying Fish date night for DH and myself. Fixed price menu options that were customizable a bit to include a larger salad for DH and no beef for me. Very good service, and the food was so good I did not mind the 2 Dining credits. No complaints. The tasting menu wine list was good too.
Wednesday: 1900 PF. Big disappointment for me. DD loved the characters and food was OK, not great. We were seated and told "You have 15 minutes until he characters come to get your food, and they will not come back if you are not at your table you will not see them."
OK, then DS had to go the bathroom was was told "Does he know he might miss the characters?" Um, if your DS who is still potty training says he has to go, you go. He only missed a few people and was back before Cinderella, but not a warm feeling. Also, when I placed a note on a plate saying "PLEASE SAVE WILL BE BACK" they were going to clean it up. A kind table next to us made sure it was saved. It was the only placed we tipped the Disney min. The service was just very poor. The set up was not great either as a lot of our pictures have tables and other diners in them as there was just no room. Will not be back. Grand Floridian was pretty and actors good, but we did CRT last time and would rather pony up the big bucks for a smile and not feel like we had to run and grab what we could or miss the whole thing.
Thursday: Cape May Cafe breakfast. Buffet was crowded, but service good. Food not bad and did not feel rushed. Would do again if we were close, but after Tusker House was sooooooo good, it did not quite live up. Also, not professional photos, which was ok, but it is nice to have other people take the pics some times.
Thursday night: Kouzzina. Yum. We all loved our food. DD got roasted chicken, I had the Fisherman's stew, and DH had the vegetarian dish. DS slept the whole time and we got his food packed to go in the end. Olive oil tasting on hearth baked bread, great meal, and service amazing. We had a nice bottle of the Coranation Pinot Noir too. Desserts baklava and chocolate molten cake, both with gelato or sorbet on the plate were sooooo good. Will be back.
Loved the DDP, and the service everywhere except 1900 PF, and our kids still had a good time. A week was too short!
Miss you WDW! Prayers I can return soon/
