What days months are cheapest to fly? What are some good websites to look for airfair? There are 5 of us flying so I am trying work our trip around a cheap time to fly.

This is our first time ever booking a flight!

Assuming you are flying out of Denver, United, Frontier and Southwest have non-stop flights. I prefer to fly non-stop, although I did fly American one year because I couldn't get decent price on non-stops.
~$200 per person is about a cheap as I've seen it in a long time and that was Southwest in September. If I can find tickets for under $250, I feel I am doing good and I can live with under $300. I paid more for last June when I waited too long.

Prices drop when Southwest opens up their dates. So even if you want to fly United or Frontier, wait until Southwest is selling and they will drop their prices to compete.

Don't think I can really help with cheapest months/days, although I think September, January and May might be the cheapest. Play around in a travel site (I find travelocity.com reasonable to use - although I don't book with them - I book at the airline sites to save the booking fee.)

I don't know how long you want to go for or when, but I just plugged in early May (since that is when I am going next and I know airfares have dropped recently - after I bought of course - and it is the end of Southwest current open window) and for a week +- 3 days.

Northwest has some flights for $197, May 3 (Sat)-May 9 (Fri) or May 3 (sat)-May 12 (Mon) or May 1 (Thur)-May 7 (Wed), May 8 (Thur) or May 9 (Fri) or May 4 (Sun)-May 12 (Mon) or May 5 (Mon)-May 12 (Mon), May 13 (Tues). However, I don't like the times and the layover in Memphis, TN is only 30-40 minutes which would make me nervous.

Sticking to just the non-stops United has some flights for $225. Not necessarily the times I prefer, but non-stops - flying out Wed and returning Mon, Tues, Wed, Thur, Fri or flying out Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri, Sat or Sun and returning Wed, Thur.

Look at the airline sites too. I see Frontier has flights for $220 Tues to Tues or Wed to Wed and at times I like. But you have to put in each date combination so their site is harder to search for deals.

Other dates can be higher $254, $280, and on up. You just have to play with it. The prices change all the time, so you should start looking now to get a feel for it and then book when you find something you can live with.

We are flying out of Denver in April on Southwest for $955 for a family of four.....so $236 per person round trip
