From another thread: What's your favorite espresso machine

We have a 2003 Saeco magic comfort plus that's dying. We can program it to grind, keep hot, prebrew, tamp, strengthen/weaken, etc. Well, it was soooooooooo spendy and now it's costing about $200 for each repair (pump, heating element, etc), which lasts 6 mos to a year each time. So, time for a new machine.

What kind do you have and what do you like about it?

It is discontinued and I got it (refurbished from Amazon) for about 1/3 the cost listed above, but I love it.

Just so you know......I had a semi-automatic before this one. When it died, I read the reviews of CoffeeGeek.com for a long time before deciding that I was moving to one I had more control over.

I have NEVER looked back! I have a decent grinder, although I would love a new one.....but I am just hanging on for now......I have one like this, but an older model:

I got it used from a friend for a very low price, so I am not complaining....but if I were to get a new one, I would probably go for the Rocky that comes with the Rancillio Silva bundle.

Crud....now you have me thinking I want a new one!
