As a thank you for our cat-sitting, our dear sweet neighbors bought dog collars for our three pups from Woof Gang Bakery in Celebration, FL. They spent way too much on the items and sadly the collars do not fit and we need to exchange them. We are at AKL now but do not have a car. Any suggestions of how to get to the store? We would prefer not to spend as much on a cab as what the collars cost.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Kate

I'd just about be willing to be you that if you'd call them and tell them the story, they could probably work something out. Travel back and forth between Celebration and WDW is pretty common on a daily basis by a LOT of people. Call'em and see what they have to say. ;)

We did as you suggested and they were not receptive. We even offered to mail them the collars and with us paying return postage, have them send us the correct size. They said they could not do that. Ugh....

Wow. :(

Maybe someone here is there this week and can help you out. Good luck. That's all I had.

It's unfortunate you don't have a car, because from AKL to Celebration, all you do is make a right onto Sherberth upon exiting AKL, make a left onto the Irlo Bronson, and before you know it, make a right to Celebration.

It's only about a 15 minute drive tops from AKL to Celebration unless you were to hit some icky traffic on 192. Carlbarry's instructions are probably the simplest, but living right in this area I always head straight out from AKL on Osceola Pkwy until World Drive and then exit to 192 East. Celebration is no more than a couple of miles up 192.

This makes no sense. Did you ask to speak to a manager.?

According to Google maps, from AKL to Celebration Avenue, going via World Drive is 6.9 miles and 13 minutes, and going via Sherberth is 6.3 miles and 14 minutes. So not a lot of difference.

We live in Celebration, and our preferred route is Wold Drive to the south end (i.e. beyond I4), left on Celebration Blvd, right on Waterside Drive, left on Celebration Ave The center of town (where the shops are) is perhaps a mile once on Celebration Ave. Although it's a bit longer in terms of distance than 192, the traffic during business hours is MUCH less and I'm pretty sure it would be substantially quicker. Regardless of which route you take, avoid 2-4pm, as after-school traffic in Celebration is nuts. BTW, there are several nice restaurants in "downtown" Celebration (we like Market Street Cafe and Cafe D'Antonio; Sweet Escape Bakery is also good if you want grab-and-go or a snack); you might want to consider lunch while you're there.

Also, the walk around the lakes is beautiful, or sitting in the rocking chairs, especially early morning and late afternoon :)

I have friends who used Uber for a very similar situation earlier this month. They reported that it all worked out, smoothly, very quickly and inexpensively.

Thanks all, if anyone has additional suggestions then please post. Meanwhile, we called the store again and talked with a manager, still no solution. We checked cab cost (~$60) renting a car (~$55), bus (~$2 per person so ~$12 and 4 hours travel time to and fro) and walking (cannot do due to interstate roads???). Now we will check Uber. Thanks Ms Tess for the suggestion.

Wow, a cab would be $60??? That's ridiculous! I can get all the way to the airport with tolls in a taxi for THAT ridiculous amount. And I live in Celebration. Crazy. So sorry you've run into so much hassle. It's a shame the store won't work with you. I am a patron there occasionally and this reflects on their customer service IMO...

The $60 is round trip, not one way. I do not often ride in cabs but to me that does seems expensive for such a short trip. We used
"taxi fare finder" to obtain an estimate of the cab fare. We are going to try researching Uber tomorrow.

Thanks, kid-at-heart. I did assume that was R/T but I still thought it was pretty steep. I sure hope you find a way to get those gifts exchanged.

I missed going there on my last trip.

Glad you got your problem resolved and enjoyed a little visit to Celebration. It's such a nice spot to visit for a walk and lunch.
