We have Mears shuttle taking us to to ASMo. What is it? Car, Bus? Just us or with more people? How they get us in airport? Straight to the hotel or makes stops? Do i have to tip the driver? how much? etc.

It is usually a van that does accomodate others. When you go to baggage claim at the airport you will see the Mears Shuttle information desks set up (they are about every ten steps...can't miss them, yellow and black) and they will let you know where to go to get the shuttle itself. As far as going straight to the hotel or making stops, it depends on if they have other people in the van with you and where you fall on their list of stops (Vans only accomodate about 10 people, maybe even less so it is not going to be crazy and they generally take all Disney people together so if there are stops it would be at other Disney resorts). It can be right to the hotel or you might have to stop a few times a long the way. As for tipping, that is up to you, but generally the drivers are tipped.

we took at cab once and got totally ripped off. from then on we have always taken mears. it is about 25-28 dollars a person roundtrip. we have always gotten the shuttle van (except for one time when there were a lot of pickups during busy season and it was a big bus). the van usually holds 10-12 people and makes stops for everyone on the van. during busy times i think they tend to group the drop-off close together (ie. YC and Swan). we usually have about 2 other stops and depending what hotel we were staying at we have been the first and the last dropped off. don't worry though the drop-offs don't take more than a few minutes and it is usually a pretty trip quick to and from the airport. we always give our driver a few dollars a tip for helping with the bags, etc. the amount of tip is up to you. we usually give about $3 for one big bag. i think tips can range anywhere from $2-$5 (depending how much luggage you have, etc.) mears is definitely the way to get to and from disney. mears also does car service (town cars and limos) and if you have a lot of people that might make sense rather than paying a per person charge. we've always been two people so mears made sense. also, when you made disney reservations, disney used to send a $5 coupon with your reservation, but we didn't get it for either of our past two trips this year :(

p.s. you can even book your mears tickets online now (i think the site is mearstransportation.com)

good luck!

Transportation to Disney from the airport can be frightfull depending on the time you get to the airport. We only use Mears if there are two of us going. Otherwise we book an limo service. Very reasonable in the Orlando area. Mears has both vans and full size buses. And don't expect one to be waiting there for you. On more then one occassion we waiting anywhere from 45 min to 1 1/2 hours just for the bus to get there.

we always use tiffany towncars. they will meet you in the luggage claim area. you and your family are the only ones in the car. you can request a grocery stop if needed. you are paying for the car, not per person. we have found to be very reliable and great to work with! www.tiffanytowncar.com

We usually just rent a car for a single day. We always stop at the grocery store on the way to the hotel so having our own car makes that much, much easier. We rent from National because they are on airport property (no shuttle) and we can drop it off at the Dolphin Hotel in Disney or at the car care center. Once we are in WDW we don't need it anymore. I find it is cheaper than Mears or a car service. At the end of our stay we always take Mears back to the airport. Everyone in the van/bus is going to the same place anyway so no extra stops along the way to slow you down.

Hope this helps,
Robin

thank you all. Very helpful. We already booked with disney the mears when we arrive. To leave we already rent a car for the last four days wich we will leave at the airport.

My suggestion is DON'T use Mears, unless there are 2 or less of you.

I suggest transportation2disney.com. They include car/booster seats, a 30min grocery stop, also have many options like stroller length of stay rentals as well as microwave/coolers, wait for you at the luggage area with your family name on a sign, you ride alone and they are very personalized. They will even stop outside disney so you can take a family photo upon entrance to disney grounds. They are great and for $80 for us, much better than Mears. We have a party of 4 and they pick us up in a towncar. You can probably cancel the ressie with Mears. If not, keep this in mind for next time. You will be more comfortable in a town car, rather than a bus/van.

Check it out.....many more options than Mears. ::yes::

We used Tiffany Town Car last time down and we will again in the spring~Extremely convenient and ended up being less $$$ because there were 4 of us. Also, they picked us up both times in a limo, not a Towne Car.;)

We have had a limo pick us up as well by transportation2disney. It was supposed to be a town car and we got a limo because they had it in the area closer so it was easier for them to send it to get us. :)

Mrs. Ambassador insists on limo service to the world. We avoid the lines and frequent stops by the shuttles, and stop at Publix for champagne and caviar (cheaper than at the resorts). If we are joined by our delegation, we opt for the stretch or SUV.
