Frig. for Medical Reasons at Pop

I wanted to know if any of you have reqested a frig. at Pop for medical reasons at Pop. I know that you can request one for $10 more a night, but what are the guidelines/rules for requesting one for medical reasons at no charge.

If you have a valid medical reason, just have that noted on your reservation. You might also fax tha hotel before you arrive. Let the CM know about it when you check in to be sure. I have no idea if they check, but if you have a valid medical reason, the fridge will be free.

Just make sure you speak to housekeeping yourself...the past to times we waited on the Front desk who checked us in and told us they would request it...after an hour when it didn't come...I called housekeeping myself and it had never been ordered....the last time it took over 2.5 hrs....It was almost 10:30pm by the time we got it..

Do I need to bring proof such as a doctor's note or will a request be sufficient?

We need to for insulin...we have never been charged at pop and they have never requested a note....We just make a request....

Ditto, I called and reserved my room at the POP and told them about my insulin and they said not a problem and no charge!

The fridge is supplied free of charge at any Value resort for a medical condition. That is if you need to keep medicines cold or even if you need special food because of diet restrictions: eg diabetic food items, celiac food items.
I have never been asked for a note from the doctor: it is another Honour System in place.

Ditto Zurgswife - Call housekeeping yourself as soon as you get in your room. We have also done the waiting game, only to find out no one ever told housekeeping to bring us one.....

We have had to use a fridge for medical resons for 12 years & never had an issue, but I do bring original Rx packaging with storage directions in case needed.

OMG Thank you for posting this! I had no idea you could get a fridge because of food allergies! I'm one of those weird people with a citric acid allergy and since thats in just about everything there are only certain brands of things (which use other preservatives rather than citric acid) that I can safely use! Trying to find out what types of butter Disney used, syrup, vegetable oil, etc. has been like pulling teeth and this would solve a LOT of problems for us on our trip if we could keep our own foods in our room! Thank you tons!!!!
