Friendship Life Ring - vinyl printing ideas

Here's my life ring I have ready for vinyl. It's a real 20" life ring that will be used for the pool. Any ideas on how to get this transferred? I thought I might send it to a local sign shop printer for individual letter cut out in vinyl. The tricky part is how to get part of the letters on the nylon straps - Sharpie? I'll send you my final project file if anyone wants it for their own project.
