WWhat a terrible evening I have had. First off went to a viewing tonight with my DH, his aunt had passed away. When we approached the family to say our respects, My DH cousin told us that he was upset, that he now has another funeral to go to. Poor man, tells us his friends wife went to WDW to vacation and she died there. She was only 42 and was in remission from cancer. Still no one knows what caused her death, or just where she was at in Disney when she passed. Has anyone ever heard of someone passing while on vacation at Disney. I guess we never know where we will be when our time comes. I was just in shock to hear such a terrible thing. She was suppose to go to Magic Kingdom today. May she rest in peace. Sorry if this is the wrong place.

A friend of my parents died in Disney. She had a heart attack in the hotel room and was rushed to the hospital where she passed away. She had been to MK that morning I think and wasn't feeling well. Anyway, you're right, never know where we'll be when God calls us home.

So sorry to hear of your friend's wife's passing. I will pray for her family as this must be very hard on them. I have heard of people passing at WDW before. With the number of people who visit there, I'm sure it happens more often than we know :( .

Real life happens everywhere. Even the Disney Cruise SHips have morgues on board. I guess, if one must die, being happy on a nice WDW vacation is not the worst way to depart. Tragic for those loved ones left behind, however.

How awful. I wouldn't want my loved ones to associate the parks with anything sad.

I already instructed my wife to spread my ashes around WDW, though!

Gee, they have a Disney Wedding Pavilion -- maybe they should have a Disney cemetary?! (No jokes about it being the same thing! )

I "know" of 2 people right here on these boards who lost loved ones while on vacation at WDW. One lost her young DH unexpectedly about 2 years ago at ASMovie resort. I see she has taken several trips since then.:D I think another lost their mom at GF-it was not totally unexpected-I think it was a last trip type thing.:(
I will pray for her family.

I think we may have seen an old man dead or dying at MK on the 19th. We had come to the Hub to watch Wishes. As we approached, there was an old man looking very pale and not alive at all laid back in his wife's arms. She was tearful and brushing his hair with her hand. Being that I know CPR, I asked the managers standing around if there was anything that I might could do. They told me no and said the paramedics had been called. I think he was dead really because he did not appear to be breathing at all. There were other tearful family members standing nearby too. It was really sad. Maggie

It is sad, but we all have to go sometime.

I am officially putting in my request...

I want to pass to the next life in the best place in this life...Disney World

So sorry to hear...thoughts and prayers for your friends family...:(

That is so sad to lose a loved one at WDW! But, I am sure they were happy when they went! Returning to WDW would be a great memorial to the lost loved ones! I have to admit, I would love to breathe my last breath at WDW! I will have died smiling I am sure! Actually, they could just leave me there, throw me in the water surrounding the castle!

I am sorry for the ones who have lost though. My Uncle died last night as well, but he was at home in bed.

In all this sadness, it is good to remember he died living out his last moments in the comapny of loved ones, surrounded by people concerned about him, and in what was possibly his favorite place in the world.

When my grandfather died, it took me a while to realize why I wasn't as sad as I should have been, and I finally realized, it was because he died living. He was not bed ridden or in a hospital hooked up to machines. He died quickly, of a heart attack, as he was getting ready to go fishing with his buddies. I always took comfort in knowing he lived his life to the last moment.

Just remember that the people who die at Disneyworld, are in a way, luckier than many, because they get to live to the very last second, and their last sights and sounds are those of laughter, joy and happiness.

I'm sorry to hear about your friend. I wish him well.

Hey, "EsmeraldaX"... your grandfather and mine could have been buddies. The only better way to die for my grandfather would have been to die fishing!! As it was, he died in his yard, pruning his roses ! What a way to go! ............P
