:confused3 I really want to go to Disney this fall in October, 7 days at coronado springs. I know it's a bit nicer but ive never done anything more than a value resort with my family. I had some friends who were committed to go and when we calculated airfare, hotel, and spending costs, etc. it would have been $2000 p/p for all costs included. Food, tips, merchandise, 7 days of parks, accommodations. you name it. Now all of them are scared because of the face value and I am crushed.. :(

What would you do? Im so tempted to go by myself because ive been working a ton of extra shifts to have enough to go, and enjoy myself.

That's difficult. I personally would go no matter what, especially if you've worked hard to get the funds for the trip. But I would also encourage your friends to still consider going, it would be a great and fun experience to go with friends

Maybe cut the trip to five nights. October isn't too busy so you get things done quicker.

Are you going during free dining, that's a huge savings!!!!!

Make sure you break down the price as much as possible (if you haven't already) so they know everything that's adding up to $2000. Also, maybe show them what a deluxe would cost so they have a perspective of what's a "good deal" for Disney?

If you can't convince them, I'd still go by myself. Disney is Disney and I'd never pass up an opportunity to go!

Are you gonna fly or drive? Driving could cut costs if you were planning on flying. Also cut the trip a day or two shorter. $2000 is A LOT of money to ask from your friends. You could stay in a value, or find more friends to go with you. There are tons of ways you can cut the prices. Don't eat any sit down meals, only quick service. Don't spend too much on merch.

Personally I think $2,000 p/p is too much and you could save a lot more money so here are some things you can do...

- try a value resort because honestly when my family goes we pretty much only go to our rooms to sleep. All the resorts have the same beds so a more expensive resort in my opinion isn't worth it if you're rarely in your rooms
- the free dining plan is great if you can get it! But if you can't try eating at counter service restaurants instead of eating big sit down meals. You could even get some pizzas at Wolfgang Puck in Downtown Disney or sandwiches at Earl of Sandwich. Try to eat cheap if you can and at the parks you get free cups of ice water any where so don't pay $3 for a bottle of water!
- you don't have to go to the parks all seven days of your stay, there are plenty of other things you could do...
-walk around Downtown Disney
-go to the pool
-go to the Boardwalk Resort, they have tons of fun things to watch like juggling acts and magicians etc.
-resorts like the Wilderness Campground show movies on the beach at night and some have campfires for s'mores
-rent a surrey bike with your friends. They have them for 2,4,or 6 people
-there are tons of fun activities y'all could do for little to no cost. And it really is nice to relax on your vacation instead of always running around on a tight schedule in the hot Florida weather :beach:

there are plenty of ways to make your trip cheaper! Try looking on cites like The Main Street Mouse or Mouze Katerz for help on ways to cut down the cost of the trip and get the most out of it! Hope this helps and have fun if you do decide to go:thumbsup2

I think park of it is you are doing what YOU want. You have to think of the other people, too. Cut the trip down. Stay at a value. Consider driving. Change the dates to be during value season. If you really want to go and if you want your friends to come, you have to accommodate them too. That's what I'm doing for a graduation trip I'm planning with my friend. Do I want to go in August? No, but it's cheaper than anytime else. Do I want to stay at POP? Preferably not, but it's cheap and having her there with me will make those factors irrelevant.

Well I took what all of you guys said into consideration and sat down with my friends once more and we found during late august we could stay at pop for 5 days, have 4 day park hoppers for 875 p/p.

+300- airfare (None of us want to drive, we have all agreed on that)
+200- food
+200- merchandise, or any unexpected "must do" experiences that pop up.

about 1575 per person for a 6 day trip. (2 days traveling- cheaper airfare at night)

Is this a deal, or is there any other option to make it cheaper?
Is $200 even enough for 6 days of food? :faint:

I'm really trying to be more accommodating as I don't realllly wanna be a loner for 7 days. I want to enjoy disney, but friends would be nice.

I hope we can all agree on something because we need to lock in flights ASAP before the cheap airfare gets taken...

Thanks again for all the responses :hippie:

That's about $500 off what you were, which is good, and if you guys are willing to pay that, then go for it!
