The Cast:
Brenda (me), 34 and ususally go to Disney every year. I skipped 2004 because I opened a new business, but had serious Disney withdrawals. I'm a hairdresser and original plan for this trip was to go to a class to learn how to do extensions.
Cristina, 25, my friend (who is also a hairdresser), who has never been to Disney. And I'm so excited because I get to show her what's what!
Well, today we are off to IOA and Universal. We decide to splurge and get the preferred parking. We still need to purchase our tickets so we use the e-ticket thingy (nice description, lol) and I told Cristina that it looks really busy, lets get the front of the line pass. So we bought 1 day 2 park tickets and a combo ticket for the front of the line pass. I think it was still around $100, so not too bad for two parks and skipping the lines. We start right out on the Incredible Hulk ride. It was awesome!! Lots of loops and it was really smooth, it doesn't feel like you are shaking around in your seat. After that, Cristina wants to do Dr. Doom's fearfall (I think that's the name of it). So, I told her I'll meet her back at the entrance and I head to get a soda. We meet up and she loves it. She said she saw quite a bit of the city. After this we head to Dudley Do-rights ripsaw falls. I'm pretty excited about this one because the last time we went there, we got express passes and we pretty much waited the whole darn day to get on it... Finally it was our turn, we are just walking under those arches and it breaks down
So this time, I'm so excited because we are actually getting on. Until we got into the log ride with 3 pre-teens. We would just go around a corner and they would scream...nope, no drop just a corner
and then we hear screaming and so many "Oh my god's", geesh
. It was for the whole ride. You would have thought that once we got off the ride they would have stopped screaming, but nope, it kept going and going. Finally, we break away from these pre-teens and my friend realizes she only got wet on her butt
"These poncho's aren't working!" So we decide the heck with it lets go for the gusto and head over to Popeye's ride. We get completely drenched. But its hot and I bet we'll dry off quickly
After that, we were walking into Jurassic Park. We go on the river ride there. That was pretty cool and pretty wet
. After that we head to Dueling Dragons, which was fun and then to the cat in the hat ride. Then that's it, we are done in IOA and it's 12:30. So, we head to the Hard Rock for lunch and Cristina talks me into shooters, I get the mudslide and she gets the bubble gum. And after that, I was pretty happy
I also got the blackened chicken penne pasta thing and that was yummy and I got a caramel apple martini (which I couldn't drink that much of). After that, we head into Universal Studios and the first thing we went on was ET. That was cute. I love how ET says your name at the end of the ride
. After that we went to Men in Black, I came in 2nd, Cristina came in 3rd in points. After that was Jaws, and then The Mummy Returns. This was an awesome ride. Its got some great effects to it and those icky discusting bugs are just so gross (I guess you know how I feel about those things). Anyhow, this is a don't miss ride. We then watched The Blues Brothers perform. They were very good. After that we headed to see Shrek. Very cute. Well, I wanted to stay and watch Huey Lewis and the news, but Cristina isn't feeling like staying (so far, I'm not sure I'll go back with Cristina..no night shows, too tired to walk....etc.), but we leave and head out and order Dominoes for delivery for dinner. So...that was it for today. I really didn't want to leave. I don't think she's totally in love with Disney or Universal...
Next, day 5 or how many times do I need to pay for these darn tolls???
