Welcome to my second ever dining report! I first reported on my May trip here.
http://www.www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2712422
Now its time to head back to my favorite place. This trip is super special and unlike my past trips....I'm taking my niece (2) and nephew (4) on their first trip to WDW!!!!! Auntie Jill is super excited to introduce (indoctrinate) them in all things Disney! My trip also overlaps with my BFF and her husband and I'll have a couple of solo days too.
A little about me to start. I'm a single professional living in Denver, CO. I work a very high stress telecom job and love to escape to my favorite place whenever I can. I moved to Denver 3 years ago (this week!) and left my friends and family behind. I only get home a couple of times a year and my niece and nephew are growing like weeds! I don't get to spend nearly as much time with them as I would like.
I've been teasing my brother and SIL about taking the kids to WDW and last year they surprised me by saying that they wanted to take this kids this year. I jumped on the chance and started strategically counting my DVC points and researching possibilities. My SIL is NOT a planner and likes to do things at the last minute.
When I was home at Christmas I laid out my suggestions and STRONGLY urged them to make a decision so I could get the DVC reservations locked in. Success! I was able to book a 2 bedroom villa at AKV for October 2-7.
A couple of months later, my SIL took a new job and needed to push the trip back a week. Luckily I was able to move the reservation. Whew! I emailed several dining possiblities to my brother and SIL but we decided that the kids are so little, we would skip TS meals this trip. The villa has a full kitchen so we will cook most of our meals in the room.
But this is a dining report! Who wants to read out villa cooked meals? Well, never you fear! There will be ADR's!!!
I started talking to my BFF and found out that she had a trip planned leaving the day before we were arriving at WDW. Hmmmm, ideas! I decided to take a half day of work on Wednesday and fly down to WDW and spend Thursday, Friday and Saturday morning together before they left. I was out of points but decided to stay at POP.
After shopping for airfare, I discovered that it was far cheaper to fly home on Monday rather than Saturday when my family left. Oh darn! 2 extra days at Disney! My wonder TA was able to book 2 more nights at POP. A few weeks later, AP rates were released saving me quite a bit of money!
I debated the dining plan for the non-family portions of the trip but I still have an active TIW and I plan on using it instead.
Current ADR's
Arrive Wednesday 10/5 My plane arrives at 9:30pm so I'll be lucky to pick something up at the food court.

Sunday 10/16
Breakfast at Tusker House This is my first trip back since they changed to a character breakfast/buffet.
Grand Floridian Tea--I discovered this in May and fell in love. I felt so posh and it is delicious and reasonably priced (for WDW!)
Last but not least....the piece de resistance!
Dinner at Victoria and Albert's. I ate here in May and fell. in. love.
Chef Scott, will you marry me and cook for me forever?

My flight is too early for a ADR so I'll probably grab breakfast at the Pop food court.
I can't wait to see the kids and looking forward to the escape from reality again!
