Well, you are far from having good grammar, and I think if you're going to comment on someone's typing, then you should make sure you at least try to capitalize and spell as best as you can. Otherwise, you're just being a hypocrite.

I think you forget that English is not Wanda's first language. Her first language was Spanish, and English is one of the hardest languages to learn. She speaks very good English, but there's still a barrier. Because of that barrier, criticizing her grammar and spelling is mean.

I've actually noticed that, for the most part, people who have English as a second language have better grammar than those who speak it primarily. :confused3

Grammar, yes. Typing/spelling, no. My mom didn't learn English until she was 25. She has great grammar, waaaaaaaay better than my dad who was born and raised in the USA. Her spelling/typing is not that great however. I can't tell you how many times I've had to tell her there's no 'e' in front of 'special'. As in "it was a very tender and special moment". ;)

One of my classmates moved here from Mexico in the 7th grade. Couldn't speak a word in English, and my Spanish is decent so I worked with her. Now, her grammar is fantastic, but she needs still help with spelling.

Idk. Maybe it's a Spanish-language thing?

oh wanda spells fine. its the italic, green weird text that annoys the crap out of me. and the multitude of unnecessary letters. and using "u" instead of "you" (its two freaking letters my god.)

I do admit I use 'u' alot, and I'll work on that, but color options are also there for a reason. I find the default color boring, and teal is my favorite color. Sorry it annoys you.

I think it's mean that she's criticizing other people's typing when her's isn't that great itself. And I, personally think Wanda has great grammar and spelling when she wants to, demonstrated below. :goodvibes Practice makes perfect.

ETA: If you'll notice, I said 'as best you can'. Wanda is really smart and I don't think typing chatspeak is her best. :confused3

See, that's a very nice post. I don't even mind the italics and teal. :)

Hey, there, I'm Cait. I'm kind of on and off here, so i dont actually know anyone. <Guess that's my fault, though>

Her grammar is fine, her spelling is not always that great. Spelling is understandable, but I do agree that chatspeak shouldn't be used - whether you're a native English speaker or not. Spelling just isn't a big issue with me. I mean, chatspeak is, but spelling doesn't bother me. Unless it's something like "i cannit rid cus meh bowks dun hav' ane werds'.

Sorry to butt in, but what is that supposed to say?

Exactly my point! It was supposed to say "I cannot read because my books don't have any words".

Yes, I've actually seen some of those words typed like that. Especially if you look around in the right places on this here DisBoards...:rolleyes1

Is it a picture book? XD

Me too! It very annoying. And then, they get mad when you tell them that you can't read what they typed.

the chatspeak is really more annoying than the colors. teal is pretty easy to see, but i know one poster writes in like, hot pink? i can never read those posts. it just hurts my eyes.

Time for Some buttered popcorn and an ice cold Soda. This is entertaining.
:]

LMFAO

Or the people who type in yellow. Or the people who use this font. I don't think I'm old but I need my glasses to see that, and I'm near-sighted!

;)
