Just went to the movies to see The Decendants (which I wasn't overly impressed with, it was ok, but not mind blowing. So if you haven't seen it, wait until it comes out on free tv or foxtel showtime :rotfl: ).

Anyway we were sitting back waiting for the movie to start, when I said to my friend sitting beside me, that I was looking at WDW now for a possible trip instead of DL, but who knows. Now she knew I am thinking about 14 nights in Anaheim, so she said "oh, so will you go for less time then" :scared1:
A touch :confused3 I said "what on earth would we go for less time for, it's an extra 10+ hours of travel time, if anything we will need another day or two to make up for it" :lmao: (speaking like a true Disney lover).

She then said "you guys really loves these Disney holidays and that theme park stuff don't you", she said "we went to WDW once for 5 days and we couldn't wait to get out of there". They couldn't stand the buses, they just couldn't stand doing theme parks all day, they couldn't stand waiting in queues for rides, couldn't stand the place. She doesn't think she was staying on Disney property because they had to take a Disney bus to the theme park and it took 30 minutes :rotfl: I told her that is how you get to most of the theme parks from all resorts at WDW, by Disney bus (unless it's within walking distance, but no resort is within walking distance to every theme park).

Anyway so she think's we are weird. I really have only one friend IRL that gets the Disney thing :sad1:

She didn't love WDW :confused::confused::confused:..hehe

Only my bff gets my Disney obsession (she is on these boards too). None of my other friends get it. They ask why don't I plan to travel to other places. I tell them I will, once I have stayed at each WDW resort at least once :laughing::laughing:

I KNOW, what is she thinking :rotfl:

There is always something new to see, somewhere new to stay. I love your response :rotfl2:
That is going to be my new line. I'll go to other places when I've tried all of the resorts :thumbsup2 :lmao:

That is why I love this Aussie/Kiwi part of the boards because no one in my "real life" understands my love of Disney parks and the fact that I could go back year after year if I could afford it. The Americans and British have it so easy as it costs them so much less to get there so you can understand them having a love for it and going back every year. But we Aussie and Kiwi addicts are a unique group, in our countrys, so I am so glad I found you all here because it made me realise I am not alone :lovestruc

She didn't like it? Couldn't wait to get out of there? :confused3:scared1:

Blasphemous! Lucky we have each other right? :thumbsup2

Exactly why I love it here in the Aussie/Kiwi section on the Dis. Mere mortals do not understand us. :rotfl2:

I couldn't have said it better myself! :)

You have us. We get it.

Thanks PIO  What would I do without the Aussie board (I'd probably get more :laundy: done :rotfl: )

I know right. I was completely :confused3:eek:

We are really lucky! pixiedust:

Yep, love the Aussie/Kiwi board! I can come here and let my inner Minnie run free ::MinnieMo :lmao:

We went in 06 for the first time and stayed 5 days, it wasnt enough time either. We live on the west coast so it is a little costly with only one income. But we are hoping to go back in 2013. I guess not everyone likes WDW. Oh well, less people in the park.

What do you mean....'hoping'??? I thought it was pretty much locked and loaded! :confused3

I'm noticing that most (if not all) of you are women, so loving Disney holidays is still "acceptable". I'm a guy, so you can imagine how much less of us there are! pirate:

I've been about 10 times, and each time IS different. Life passes in between and your outlook changes... the people you're with (and therefore, group dynamics) change... the attractions change... sometimes, even my socks change! :scared1: ;)

I love them because I'm still a kid, and I love sharing the experience with my 12yo daughter.

Nice community here guys! It brings the Disney magic and the holidays just that bit closer, and heightens the anticipation!

Enjoy - because you KNOW why you love Disney holidays!

I am a guy too (and one without kids) and I love Disney. It hasn't really bothered me and I seem to get quite a few comments by people who just don't 'get it'. That's fine because I don't 'get' cars or sub-woofers :confused3. However, there are people who think my interest in the Disney animation techniques and processes are really interesting.

There are certainly people who are just not interested in visiting Disney parks and they are quite common. Somewhere between childhood and adulthood people find these parks less appealing. That's ok and it's all about perception. I am able to leave my brain at the Disney gate and experience an environment which is designed to allow me to imagine. I like to think of it as a time bubble in which you're stuck and no longer think about the 'outside world'. It's so easy to leave everything else behind where, on most holidays, you tend to still take that with you. I also think if people criticize your interests, it's a) quite rude and b) is an invitation to criticize their sub woofers.

The great thing about the Dis is that unless you 'out' yourself as a guy or have a gender neutral moniker, no one really really knows if you're a guy or gal.
So, everyone here is really a Dis-ser and we all love our Disney holidays. (Even if some of us have to hide in the closet from time to time).

Welcome to the Dis! Hope you'll join in the fun here.

Only because I think in a tangent all the time , I take it you're referring to something below dog status??

:rolleyes1

(I'm only having a bit of personal fun! But the shoe might fit.)

Okay I am the minority her I agree with the friend DL is not as big as WDW there for you don't need the 14 days but if you want to explore more of CA the 14 days might be worth it

We have been to DL many times and stayed 14 nights, actually last time we stayed 15 nights. We like use it as a base, do day trips to San Diego, LA, Universal, shopping days at south coast plaza, beverly hills etc. And just take the days easy.

But, my friend was ok with me doing 14 days at Disneyland, she can't understand doing 14 days at Disney World :scared1: . Gosh, our last two trips to WDW, one was for 21 nights and the other was for 23 nights and we could have stayed longer :rotfl: My friend was saying 5 nights was too much at WDW, not DL :rotfl: Actually she probably can't understand the 14 nights at DL either, but she knows that that includes trips to Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, San Diego, so she can picture us not being at DL much :rotfl:

Who knows, she doesn't get my travel choices and in all honesty, I don't get hers :rotfl:, I don't get how somebody doesn't feel the magic :rotfl: Lucky we all have so many choices in this world and we can all travel and spend time in places we love, wether it be Disney or another destination. :thumbsup2

Don't worry Aussietravellers, we disney lovers seem to be few and far between here in Australia....my friends and whats more my family just don't get it. Their loss in the end, can u imagine how sad life would be not having the disney magic in your life! Most people think of it as a once in a life time trip.....um hello I would rather go to WDW 20 times than some dirty third world country for a holiday....but hey like someone said less people at the parks for all of us! But yeah when I tell people we are planing another trip to disney they are like what but you have been twice...they don't get it. So I to am greatful for the friendships and the excitement we all get from one another so thanks guys!
