Hello!
We are planning our next trip to the world October 2012. 10 days! whoo hoo!
My DS is 8yo and the other is 2yo. We have lightly discussed whether we should let the older boy bring a friend his age to ride with. We were not thrilled with the idea of the possibility of the younger child being "left out".
Recently we found out that my son's friend has a parent who is terminally ill. We have again returned to talking about taking this child next year with us.
He is a good, well behaved child. We both feel like he deserves a little happiness after going through such a tough loss so young.
We would not ask for money from the family. They have other children but are college age. Our trip would require some missed school days over Columbus holiday. While the kids are elementary age I really don't mind a missed week. Once every two years, as long as they are well behaved and doing well in school.
Should we ask this child to go with us? Has anyone brought a friend with them that could offer advise?
I do not want to step on the toes of the family but would like to be able to offer a little escape from reality if we can.
Anyone???
